- My mum found this Nightjar on the ground with a nest and two chicks. She asked me to get my video camera and make a video for her (she's a birder you see). So yeah...Not what I 'normally put up, but i guess its pretty cool.
I was barely a foot from the Nightjar. This was taken with my NEX VG-10, with the 70-200mm lens.

Charming opportunity to see this rare bird. I've folowed before and I've seen his camoflage wow ! one time stone, one time branch dry, chunk of wood, piece of wood, wrinkled paper etc
Wow, the baby chicks look like fluffy, miniature versions of the mother. They're all so sleepy and grumpy-looking. :)

I was smoking a dooby in my shed and a nightjar landed in the door way. he/she sat there for a minute or two no more than 3 feet away from me. it was a beautiful moment ✌

Yeah, apparently Nightjars/Nighthawks are EVERYWHERE, except the Arctic, the Sahara and the Arabian Peninsula, but they might as well be invisible for all we see of them.

Look it up, there are about thirty varieties all around the world. Everywhere except the Sahara, Arabian and Gobi desert regions and the Arctic. They are EVERYWHERE else.
We call it Tagkaroo and it's a mysterious birds
