- APRIL FOOLS, EVERYONE!
I've lost a little bit of interest in fire alarms over the past few months. Well, it's finally time to announce what I am interested in making more videos of: corridor lights! (WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO BEFORE COMMENTING)
As you can see, this is a typical "nurse call light." The proper terminology, I believe, is "Corridor Light." These are typically found in the hallways of hospitals, smaller medical facilities, and sometimes in a building that has nothing to do with medical purposes. Maybe you would find one of these installed outside of a restroom.
In a hospital, I believe these are tied into a much bigger system, usually stationed at a nurse station in the hallway. To activate one of these lights, there is a pushbutton in a patient room or a pull cord in the restroom. This will send a call over to the system, and dispatch someone to assist.
This is a dual light model from TekTone. Other models I have found from the company include a buzzer built right in.
DISCLAIMER:
It is inconsiderate to falsely report the need for assistance (i.e. "Just for fun"). One of these systems should be activated ONLY WHEN YOU NEED THE ASSISTANCE. However, this is being activated in a controlled and legal environment, an enthusiast's test setup. No nurses were called or unnecessary panic was aroused when activating the light.
Therefore, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LEGAL DAMAGES DONE. These are your decisions, not mine. - Наука
Interesting! Well anyways, happy April Fools day!
Happy April Fools day to you as well! Glad to see your interest in this thing.
Thanks for you
I have seen one of those habitual lights before. some times the light can be green of red. That was a great light! Happy April fools Day! see you next time NewEnglandElevator.
Happy April Fools day to you as well! With the right colored bulb, it seems like it would be easy enough to make the top light green!
Cool!
I know right!
Wow that is really cool! Great video! 😃. But I'm curious what got you into fire alarms? Also what makes you loose interest in them?
Hi!
Me too
Also in your system test videos that show the TekTone Corridor Light. You sometimes mistakenly call the "Corridor Light" a "Quarter Light"
Huh, that's a cool device!
Simple, but cool! Who knew a light would be so cool?
I have never seen these in hospitals before
I wish I had one of those.
+Jonathan Ryerson Hotel Happened to snatch this one at the right time. Glad I did! :D
Can you give me the link to order one?
Can you make a video comparing a Wheelock ehs dl1, a simplex 4903-923X and a truealert?
I do have an older video from a few years back with all three of those sounding at the same time. That's the closest thing I have right now, oddly enough.
They have that at my school in computer lab
I wonder if what type of notification this light would be used for. I take it that it wouldn't be for "medical help" purposes unlike what I generalized in the video. Interesting setup.
More types sirens
I wonder to
I wonder if a strobe light could fit in there somehow...
The lens is big enough to maybe hold some sort of strobe flashing circuit; not sure about an entire strobe. Good point!
***** The strobe looks like the System Sensor MASS 24LOC
cmtorres67 This one is an incandescent lamp. I don't see how it can resemble a MASS strobe.
What is your ebay name are you selling?
Sorry to tell you, but I am not selling anything at this time (my collection is staying).
I have seen these in high end hotels
Outside of bathrooms or the rooms?
+NewEnglandElevators the rooms
Hopefully you get your interest back...
I'm sure I will. After all, this is only April Fool's Day!
