When upgrading the cylinder and piston to a bigger bore than 47mm, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you replace the crankshaft with a much stronger one like a Naraku HD crank. The GY6 139qmb overseas run the 72cc cylinder from factory no problem it’s when they come to the US they need to have a minimum displacement of 49cc. When i got the 47mm BBK and upgraded the transmission with full performance parts with a quality carb i ran the scooter HARD for 6 months straight as a daily. Anything above 47mm or 72cc is a ticking time bomb. Other than that, these engines are extremely reliable if the oil is changed very frequently. Watching further into the video it’s absolutely astonishing that so many thing’s were wrong when they installed the BBK..
You are 100% correct. I was told that the QMB139 engines are actually built on an 80cc platform. I did the 80cc upgrade. Huge difference. I was told 80cc is as high as you want to go. 100cc runs too hot. That’s just what I read from other people. The 80 kit gets me to 40-45 no problem but that’s about where it tops out. Allows me to at least keep up with traffic. The 50cc was able to get to 42-43 but man, what a struggle to get there. Now that I have the 80 on it, I’m enjoying the extra power and I’m also coming to realize that’s actually as fast as you want to go on a moped. 😂😂😂

@@GhettoWrench agree. Mods won’t make much of difference. Maybe 2-3mph. Whoa! 😂. Not worth the time, money or effort. You’re only going to get but so much power out of a combustion chamber the size of my pinky nail. A big bore kit will allow you to get to top speed faster. I did the 80cc BBK. I can get to 40-45 within seconds whereas before it was a quite a struggle to get there. The BBK made a difference in power, but not much difference in top end. The bike still only gets to 45mph. Anything from there is a struggle. On top of that, 45mph on a moped is really fast enough. They’re not built for breaking land speed records. They’re built for economy and commuting. Let me wrap this up by saying the 80cc allows me to at least keep up with traffic.
Motor 50cc?????????????
Yes
Because it's bored jus swap the block
They put a rookie to work on your scooter
Ya for sure. LOL
6:00 lmao ok wtf
I swapped my 50cc to a 150cc big difference in speed..50cc is just too slow no matter what upgrade you do to a 50cc it will not be enough
That's a fact. Just fun cause I can drag race it in my driveway and do top speed runs wothout ever getting a ticket. LOL. Did you see this one now? Doing 53mph. Faster than both my 150s when I got them. The 150s need mods too. All these maddogs are slow.
@tedowen409 I did very impressive 🙌
1:14 NO
NOOOOO WTF NO OMG NO
Ya I had to google pics of how it goes in. I had no idea it was upside down at first. LOL
@@GhettoWrench short term easy purchase, long term death sentence
@@rustypotatos perfectly said. LOL
Dont by them people These are trash bikes i swear I have one on my backyard
Not all of them are. Surprisingly I kinda depends where you buy from. Two of my friends have maddogs. One has had 0 problems so far and the other has had carb issues and a bad tire from the factory. Both had less than 200 miles on them. Of those two owners one also bought the Chinese grom as well. 0 problems so far on both his scooters.
For someone who does this as a hobby...u seem to know allot and have good camera footage and editing tools to label the mistakes..don't know your end game but you're definitely are not the person or have the lack of knowledge you seem to portray but nice try
Didn't know I was trying to potray lack of knowledge. I have tons of knowledge in the DIY engine arena as an old gearhead, but these are my 1st small engine toys. I use a gopro 9 , quick and Wondershare to make videos. End game; to keep people that are not gearheads from getting ripped off at Boca Scooters. LOL
@@GhettoWrench Well you're very knowledgeable and keep up the great videos. Very helpful sir. Thank you
