    I am almost done with the build. I redid every wire because I went with the Ikon2 Micro and the new ESC has standard connectors on them. I am mounting the ESC under the bottom plate. It gives me a bit more clearance for the wires. I was afraid the "correct spot" could have eventually had the wires rub on the motor (went with a larger motor as well). ( am going to 3D print a bottom plate for it to protect the ESC. If ya got the time I would love some advice on a couple of things. I have never built a heli from scratch (which this pretty much is) and have never used the IKON software or any FBL software similar to it. I was actually surprised that I had all the servos and motors running from the time I started the download and then configured everything. The problem is just because they spin and move does not mean I did anything close to correct. I just winged it in the software. Do you have a sample file that you used that I can use a reference/teaching tool for myself. I pretty much put "unknown" for every selection (servos, motor etc..) and I assume that the swashplate is 120 degrees? I measured it and is what is looks like. I used my servo tester to center the servos after they were installed.

      I am using micro iKon2.
      I had plugged it in, the motor doesn't turn. After fiddling around with the setting (at low throttle), the the motor does turn but at maximum Left, the motor actually stops. If center (or Right), the motor spins.
      I tried spooling up the main motor (without main blades but with tail blade). At center stick the heli spins - I have right ward rotation, but even with full Left the heli doesn't turn left.
      Maybe I should put the main blades on (so it produces some torque). Did you just plug in the tail rudder servo - without any setup? For me it is a bit clunky

      I have several iKon2/Brain2 (Standard sized). This is the first time I am trying micro iKon2 and did choose Motor driven tail. As far as the Blade, it is the older version (with regular servo plug), so had to use adapters to be able to plug the servos to the micro iKon2. Not sure what type of ESC it comes with, it is a stock ESC (which came with the older Blade 230s)

    I have a DX6i and I be only set up helicopters from manuals, what I need to adjust to stop this? I’m assuming I need to go in to ’GYRO’ and change the rate until it stops, it’s already on 88% for normal though

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад

      @@ultraporthos6884 I would definitely not use the micro on the 420. Main reason is power, the micro is not designed to take any kind of real power to supply the servos/BEC power. You are putting a lot through a micro plug in it’s just not good. Would it work? Probably where I use it? No. On something like a 230 not a problem on something like a 420 where you are going to need 8.4 V to get the most out of the torque servos or whatever servos you are running. What up bro?...230s looks great...glad you kicked the shit out of the pneumonia!!!...anyways, i have a boat question...what would you recommend for a speed boat?...ive decided that i want to get a boat but i dont have a controller but i dont care to get one if you recommend something that doesn't come with a controller...i dont want a beginner boat because i have skill so i want a boat that is fast and stable but good enough so that if i find myself not getting into boats then at least i will have one good dependable boat to play with from time to time...i dont care if its a v hull or catamaran or whatever...just fast and stable:)

      Thanks bud appreciate it! I’m glad I did too, stuff is no fun! So the pro boat sonic wake is the bang for your buck. It’s on sale right now for $325 RTR just need a 4s or 6s battery. Self leveling and fast! 50mph out of the box on 6s and over 65mph with a good prop and more cooling. I’m going to pick one up sooner or later as they are fun! Look them up. V hull! If you want something badass and a monster then the pro boat miss Geico! Twin 6s setup, fiberglass cat hull and with a good set of props over 100mph.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 года назад

      @@hoofarted8709 so yes you can always upgrade any boat. You can put in any motor you would like! The biggest upgrade I would recommend and this is for any boat is cooling! OSE (offshore electric)sells a dual pick up water that allows you to get more water to your motor and ESC. I would recommend if you go with the dual rotor pick up to separate your motor and ESC cooling meaning one line to your motor and have it on its own exit and the other line to your ESC and have it on its own exit. The RUclips channel ironclad RC has some incredible boat videos and he goes through all the mods on the sonicwake. 64 mph is no joke on the water! That is really moving. I’m sure with a bigger motor bigger ESC and a different prop you can get 70 to 75 mph easy! Also look at the UL-19 from proboat or the miss Geico if you want all out speed boats. The miss Geico with a good set of props will do 100 mph on stock electronics! It’s a rocket!
