Luke: "If I take the Pokémon with 137 Special Attack and 73 Attack, you'll just nerf its Special Attack. I'll have to take the Pokémon with 145 Special Attack and 55 Attack." Shady: "Okay, I guess I'll nerf its Special Defense."
Not sure what Luke was on, but Shady's choice to go with defense can be explained if he thought "oh, I can take care of a chandelure, I'm going to save my attack debuffs in case he gets something more insane." I'm not sure that was a great decision, but it is somewhat understandable.
Oh my lawd what a wild "CHOOSE MY STARTER" section, props to the randomiser. And the Flash Fire screwup + Dancer and Lingering Aroma shenanigans really made this super entertaining, thanks guys!
I don’t blame them for missing this one, the shiny is insanely hard to notice. Even when bringing up comparison pics I still couldn’t tell because of the lighting with their games.
Here's a cool idea for a video. Both you and your opponent get 8 abilities to use throughout the randomized starter selection these are the abilities and rules 4 Offensive abilities that will effect your opponents selection Swap-after your opponent selects a pokemon you can swap it with another pokemon thats in front of you. Sabotage-the pokemon your opponent chooses can only use 3 skills the 4th one is locked Butter fingers - no held items allowed for the pokemon your opponent selects Handicapped-one of the base stats of the pokemon your opponent chooses must be set to 0, it is up to the opponent to choose. (Can not be special or physical attack) (Bonus) depending on if you choose to play this with hidden starters or allowing your opponent to know what the starters are. Reveal - does what the name says. Forces your opponent to tell you all the starters truthfully Hidden - allows you to not have to say the starts in front of you and makes your opponent guess randomly 4 abilities that will benefit your selection Retrain - allows you to distribute the base stats around as you please, as long as the BST stays the same Ascend-allows you to use any ability you want on your pokemon you choose. Type change- allows you to change a single typing of your pokemon you chose Counter - allows you to nullify a single negative ability your opponent uses when you select your pokemon. Please if anyone else had cool ideas for abilities add below in the replies and lmk what you think
Luke, I have an idea. You pick your starters then set take all their stat points away and redistribute however you want. You want a bulky deoxyes speed, go for it, a fast attacking Chansey, of course. I just think it’d make for some interesting mind games and be a lot of fun.
Shady's a far more phenomenal battler than I'll ever be, so this is not meant to come across as me throwing shade at him, but I think nixing Dialga's HP would have been the wiser move. Just my 2 cents. 😅
to be fair with the luck they were having- At least it gives him *an* out as well as kind of denies future picking of tanks or if there's something scarier than a dialga
I think.... this is one of my favorite duos. Chillin and Quick Luck and Shady Shady is good with everyone... but something about this specific chemistry
One way to play this would be to force out the debut early. As in focus on all physical attackers so your opponent bans the first one's attack and then your next one is free to be a physical attacker.
Always SUPER excited when you post! I looked up to both of you growing up for such a long time and love when you guys collab! Hope you keep creating amazing content! 😄
I was like "oh yeah choosing chandelure is smart, it feels more like a support mon to me just off vibes so the special attack drop isn't gonna hurt it that bad.... I wonder what it's special attack is... ONE HUNDRED FOURTYFIVE? WHAT THE FUCK?!"
wow this was one of my favs. Not only did it have 2 fights one of which were doubles (🎉🎉), but the strategies was solid. I always find the max one stat vids the most interesting fights and this one is right up there with the others for best fights!
I wish the randomizer had more control honestly, it would be cool to like say; spin a wheel and whatever type it lands on u get three random starters of that type to choose from (maybe with more twists too!)
I agree that it's probably due to ignorance, but Burning Bulwark is not a strictly better protect. Burning does not protect against status moves. Stuff like Thunder Wave/Taunt/Trick/Encore, etc. Look at Luke's team, who is realistically using a contact move that would burn them? Not 0 atk Arcanine, not the Chandelure, Not the Dialga and it's kinda unlikely for Hoopa as well since Hyperspace Fury doesn't make contact. Valiant could have one and Empoleon with 1 spatk is almost certainly going to have a contact move. On paper, you're only really "guaranteed" to see a contact move on the penguin with Burning, while Protect lets you safely do things like clicking protect vs Chandelure to scout it out without having to risk getting tricked by it. Overall I'd say Burning is probably better, but there are definitely matchups where you should run protect over Burning Bulwark.
Shady: *brings up possibility of a sweep* Me: well. If there is, it wouldn’t be as bad as venomoth. (Was just watchin’ dad’s being dudes lockeout and they said it’s brought up every sweep. I don’t make the rules. 😂)
Have you guys done: choose your starter but only knowing their evolution stage? I think it would be so crazy to have to guess if the 1 is a legendary or a baby mon or if the 2 is a middle mon or the final stage of a 2 stage mon. I think it also would be better if you cant evolve your choice making the 1 a more risky choice.
the lack of knowledge on stats for some of these mons make its hilarious but also hurts my 'tism bc i just start reciting them by the exact number "valiant defense is bad" base 90
I don't know if anyone will see this comment on an older video but I think you should do this again, except both of you choose a Pokemon for the round and then spin a wheel with all the stat names on it and 0 the stat it lands on and eliminating that stat from the wheel for the remaining rounds.
Not taking that Palkia is wild. Empoleon is weak to fight & ground that is exactly Dialga's weakness. Additionally, Palkia gives you the water that you were missing & the dragon does not cause it to have any overlapping weakness with Dialga
When I saw the name of the video I thought it mean **all** base stats were zero. Would that be viable? I can't remember off the top of my head whether IVs/EVs are multiplicative or additive. If they're multipliers it'd be pointless, but if they're additive instead... We choose our starters, but all their base stats are zero, then we fight: You'd have to focus on abilities, typing, and move set much more than which is a stronger, or more popular, mon. You'd have to use EVs and IVs to set up your stats strategically, since everything will be basically nothing, so you need to distribute your EVs much more carefully than just dumping them in the best stats, 'cause they're all zero, there **is** no best stats. Anyway, this is what I thought this was when I first read the title. xD
Next then we fight, take the total BST and you can customize all the pokemons base stats based on the BST. so if you have a 600 Goodra, you can remove all stats from Attack and put them else where up until you hit that 600 total. something like that.
Gouging Fire feels like the second least used mon in all of these videos, it just doesn't come up often And it's second, to only, the one and only, Pecha Runt Still haven't seen it legitimately used once, only an all random set that one time
i mean... we ALL KNOW he didnt pick palkia cuz its basically just a regular legendary and an ez sweep of the vid. we all know that right?? bro hit us with "call me crazy" and wasnt even the one to throw out a reason why to not pick it 💀

Right??? That whole round left me so confused 😂

That's because Shady learns from his mistakes.

That is a shiny Paldean Tauros :)
I saw that too, that makes at least 2 unnoticed shinies in these types of video (the other being a Cosmog one time)
Because shinies don't matter much in a mod
I don’t blame them for missing this one, the shiny is insanely hard to notice. Even when bringing up comparison pics I still couldn’t tell because of the lighting with their games.
Nuzleaf having nipples implies it is a mammal, which is all kinds of weird.
It loses them upon evolving into Shiftry, where do they go?
I mean, they seem to be more like marks on the bark than true nipples 🤔
10:33 "You didn't have a water type" yeah, and empoleon was definitely the only choice on your screen for that......
Here's a cool idea for a video.
Both you and your opponent get 8 abilities to use throughout the randomized starter selection these are the abilities and rules
4 Offensive abilities that will effect your opponents selection
Swap-after your opponent selects a pokemon you can swap it with another pokemon thats in front of you.
Sabotage-the pokemon your opponent chooses can only use 3 skills the 4th one is locked
Butter fingers - no held items allowed for the pokemon your opponent selects
Handicapped-one of the base stats of the pokemon your opponent chooses must be set to 0, it is up to the opponent to choose. (Can not be special or physical attack)
(Bonus) depending on if you choose to play this with hidden starters or allowing your opponent to know what the starters are.
Reveal - does what the name says. Forces your opponent to tell you all the starters truthfully
Hidden - allows you to not have to say the starts in front of you and makes your opponent guess randomly
4 abilities that will benefit your selection
Retrain - allows you to distribute the base stats around as you please, as long as the BST stays the same
Ascend-allows you to use any ability you want on your pokemon you choose.
Type change- allows you to change a single typing of your pokemon you chose
Counter - allows you to nullify a single negative ability your opponent uses when you select your pokemon.
Please if anyone else had cool ideas for abilities add below in the replies and lmk what you think

I find double battles so much more entertaining because it requires more strategy and team synergy. Keep doing those!
