- After installing an eBay short shifter on my Impreza I had to give it a try on the STi! Although it was from AliExpress its basically the same thing. After having it installed for awhile I have to say it was a win! The NVH can get annoying to some people so installing the bushings are a personal choice for everyone! I personally think it's worth picking up if you are on a budget and own an 04-21 STi!

Cool idea - short shifting doesn’t really make sense unless it’s really cheap, it’s not something that’s easy to justify when you could buy better tires with that money, but at under 100 bucks that’s not bad. I don’t know what other commenters are talking about re. cheap parts - the shift column could be made of bamboo, your not going to put so much force that will rip welds, even bad welds. I think getting it tidied up was worth it, particularly the powder coating, but it wouldn’t have been necessary: the poly bushings will last 2-4x longer than rubber, but may not feel so good. Usually with poly bushings they split in half and you can assemble them around the joint, rather than press them through like a trad. rubber bushing. Usually that makes it way easier. If it was rough, it’s a bit sus. Take a look at those bushings again in a year would be good to see :)
Well thats just it, I found it difficult to spend $400+ for basically the same thing. Plus it was an experiment! The worst thing that could happen is I go back to my stock shifter. I'll for sure post an update video in a year! Thanks for watching!

I'm sure kartboy is literally just buying these for 30 bucks and putting "kartboy" brand on it. Perrin does it with shrouds, alternator covers, bushings, wing stands, etc. what's stopping kartboy ? same EXACT shifter
