Nice cabinet! The do it yourself idea using silica gel is good, but silica gel does become saturated and won't absorb moisture forever. The good news is you can heat it in an oven on low temperature to bake-out the moisture to "recharge" the gel. Search for "how to recharge silica gel" for the details.
