Dear Simon, Don’t know what this kit’s brand kind of plastic uses to produce this footbridge with; however it might still be a styrene or ABS type of plastic. Those plastics are better glued with plastic weld kind of adhesive than the Gorilla type of adhesive you used. The bonding time of plastic weld is much, much shorter and its property is capillary, which allows for much tighter and accurate ‘welding.’ Still your efforts look good, humbly think the footbridge got some dilapidated character. Which in turn makes it look more realistic. Thanks 🙏 for sharing!
From normal viewing distance it'll look fine; the camera loves to show up any imperfections 🙄 I've got one of these to make as well 😬 Ah well; fore-warned is fore-armed😉 Thanks for showing things warts and all, it gives hope to all us ordinary modellers👍 Andrew🙂
Hi Simon, I really like that kit and it was interesting to find out about how tricky the kit can be! Why not buy another one and see how it goes a second time? Hope you’re well, I’m still working on the lower level here at Exehaven but unfortunately have broken a bone in my foot which is delaying me a little! Cheers for now, John
Cheers John. Yep, will put that on the list of things to re-visit and improve. Other comments suggest using plastic cement type glue which may have helped. Hope your foot gets better soon 👍
Given your scratch building skills, it shows how awful this kit is!, that corrugated roof can’t possibly connect correctly up the steps, it needs some semicircular infills of some sort. Very disappointing given its price!
Simon, you have great patience. Well done, it looks fine best regards Ian👍👍

Good to see you back Simon!! Cheers Onno.
Cheers Onno, thanks for watching 👍
I agree Simon, Quite a fiddly kit, I built a 4 track bridge using two of these kits. Absolute key is using poly styrene cement for these plastics.
Thanks for the tip 👍 the glue I used too far too long to set, will have to get some poly styrene cement.

Cheers Andrew, good luck with yours, hopefully you can learn form my mistakes...just be really careful cutting the parts from the sprues 👍
Hi Simon - don't worry about it, it looks fine fella! Very good addition to the layout!
Regards,
Steve
Cheers Steve, thanks for watching 👍
Lovely Jubbly, I does look a fragile thing to build, you tried your best.
Thanks Paul, did my best, at least its nearer the back of the layout 😀

Thanks for watching 👍
If it all went well there wouldn't be a challenge. Stay safe
True, thanks for watching 🚂
As someone who came to the hobby from making model tanks, I`m often disappointed with N gauge kits, NGS stuff excepted.
Yes at times I wondered if they used the wrong plastic or it had sat on a shelf for so long that it had gone brittle.
@@SimonsShed The general fit is quite poor I`ve found.
i have trouble in oo gauge , dont worry.
😀 thanks, it looks OK if you don't get too close.
