Nice job!! Gas has always been a big consideration when planning trips on my Crf250l, especially when I have to remind my riding buddies that they all have bigger tanks than I do. :) It can be a pain when you have to get off the trail/road and go miles out of the way. Although the silver lining seems to be that we (have to) stop often to rest (gas up) which actually makes all of us feel better in the long run.
Camel tank makes one but it's really expensive. It's also plastic. I had all the parts for this laying around so I just built it, and mine holds about twice what a camel tank does.
Hi Kory I too have a CRF250L And keen to have the extra fuel tank as you have. My question relates to using the breather to balance the fuel. Do you connect directly or is the non return valve in the original plumbing? Regards Chris
I hooked the aux tank directly to the breather on the tank. Has to flow both directions to allow the main tank to push air out if gas expands. Check out camel tank, I basically made a scrap metal version of that.

That's a savage job
Looks great. I need to get one like for my crf250l rally.

I have one like it and I travel with it and everything is fine.

I wonder if you could use a 1-gallon paint thinner can with the same valves mounted on a metal rate.
Wow. I need to get this done
Did you have to adjust the settings on your fuel gauge for it to read correctly or does it just keep saying full until your auxiliary stops pumping?
It reads full until the auxiliary tank drains. You can't adjust the gauge. It's a mechanical float inside the main tank
Kory's Rides yeah I thought about that after posting it. My bad
Do you have a video on the DIY tail tidy?
Yes
what happens when you drop it?
I'll pick it back up
It go boom Betty buy buy
BOOM LAY BOOM LAY BOOM ONE SPARK IS ALL YOU NEED
Why not just buy the ims 3.5 gallon tank?
Sucks riding trails. I had the acerbis tank. Too wide and tall, always in the way.
Bolt on mods are boring dude! This guy is thinking outside the box! I like it! 👍
