Thanks for the over view, I need to up my game on spoons & tails pinners. Regarding blade baits I want to recommend the Damiki Vault, that bait has been money for me .
I’ve done really well for GL smallies with a lucky craft LV500, fished the same as a blade bait -cast, small lift and drop technique. It’s money… great channel, really enjoy your content
Good info as always. Rip-N-Glide by Walleye Nation Creations is another cross over bait that'll work well in this period. To me its a better design than the shiver minnow, more durable, tail fins dont break off.... unlike the shiver minnows....SMH. Rip N Glide has a slower fall rate due to its wider flat bottom, plus comes in great colors as well. Thanks for the vid.
Caught my first targeted winter bass on a roadrunner underspin. My second time ever fishing from a boat. Felt good to go do it right. Not giant but 2 pounds. I'd love to own a boat.
Great overview. I’d love it if you could do a follow-up video from the boat, to see how you work them for smallmouth, and what you’re looking for this time of year in terms of depth and structure. Thanks!!
Great topic. I remember when I first got a little George, I burned the shallows with it from the bank as a kid. Yes, I did catch largemouth that way. Probably not the best technique but Good memories! Thanks Matt!
My favorite is the silver buddy. I like it the best vertical fishing like you would a spoon. It has a good vibration. Most fisherman only use them in the fall but I've done well in the summer fishing deep on rock piles or bridge pilings.
Great info Matt thanks for all the options. 3/4 ounce Hopkins, the old school bait still works👍 As a previous gentlemen said the Damiki Vault is one of my favorites too. On both these baits I swap out the stock hooks for sticky owners. For the Damiki Vault I also upsize the hooks one size. 🐟
I do pretty well with shiny stuff this time of year- spinners, under spins, blades, etc.- but I haven't gotten into spoons yet. I have a few- the 4 inch lake fork in cracked ice I have is supposed to be a real winner from what I hear. I'm going up to Pickwick at some point this week- I might try and jig a spoon in the creek mouths where they're busting on bait.
I have caught bass on a small spoon in shallow water before. This fall with. Fishing has been weird down south. Nothing has. Moved in for the bank fisherman
Matt I recently watched that Japanese style unrig I'm wondering when or if manufacturers will create there own pre made for less rigging time. If it catches on.
How about your thoughts or techniques on the good old curly tail grub? Every spring and fall they are killer! And this year they are outfishing all the small swimbaits by a lot..
Hey Matt, great video. Just wondering, how did it go with that Inurig? Have you gone fishing with it yet? Please, make a new video fishing with it and what were the results. We are eager to know. 😃
Matt, do you fish a plastic trailer on your Underspins? I loved the content of this video. This is an area I have less confidence in fishing. I guess I suspect these lures are going to snag badly.
Great vid. Thanks Matt! I’ve been experimenting with using Berkeley snap jigs for bass. Do you use snapjigs for bass? If so, could you do a video? Thanks!
What blanks do you prefer for these techniques? I fine myself using a CB845 for blade baits and spinning m or ml fast rod for underspins and jigging raps. Does it matter much?
dang man, u coulda goneinto a little more detail how you fish each one. ie- are you strokin em, straight retrieve, jerk pause, etc. i mean i can figure it oyt, but its always nice to have a benchmark. anyway, thank you, i had forgotten the tailspin, only got one and almost never use it. same with my underspin. i am such a jigger ccran/jerk bait and spinnerbait junkee and some straight soft plastics, i forget about some stuff, so, trhanks.
Thanks for your advice Matt i appreciate it 🙏
My pleasure!

Ill check it out. thanks for sharing!

That is awesome!
Thank you Matt , fishing from the bank it seems the small mouth have completely shut up , but I’m catching walleyes like crazy ! 😉
Nice!

I’ll check it out
I've had some decent luck this fall with the jackall deracoup tailspinners. They are fairly weedless if you keep it moving and it casts a mile
Ill check them out!

On a casting spoon I always add a split ring and a swivel to reduce line twist if they don't come with one
sounds good!

Its coming! heading out tomorrow. hopefully the smallmouth play
Great information 👍
Thanks!
You ever just modify a lipless by replacing the tail hook with a swivel and a blade? Works for me.
I have and it does work

Good stuff!

Mine too, but I prefer the old ones

Big cats on the Potomac hammer blade baits. Crazy big old girls
yes they do
Great info as always, thanks for the breakdown of your Heavy Metal box.
No problem!
Heavy Metal equals Walleyes for me.from Ohio. Thanks Matt.
I catch a few of them as well throughout the day

Very cool
Great show Matt 🎣🎣🎣👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Im betting its already in the works

Not yet but I plan on it
I don't know if you ever did a video on finesse fishing on clear highly pressured lakes
I will be
I have seen your gear behind you. Can you show us some rod and eye repair?
yep. its on my list of things to do

Ill put it on my list
@@MattStefanFishing you rule, dude. Thanks!
Thank you Matt what do you put on those underpins mainly paddle tail swim baits?
yep or fluke style baits
What size/ weight do you recommend for TVA lakes in TN with the rapala jigging rap ?
a #5 is my go to. i think its 5/16 oz and a #7 which is 5/8 oz i believe
What blanks do you prefer for these techniques? I fine myself using a CB845 for blade baits and spinning m or ml fast rod for underspins and jigging raps. Does it matter much?
i like the nmb-873
