Lost World's top speed is still really poor. While 06 did have its slow moments, it got much faster than Lost World in other moments, being about as fast as all the boost games in the mach sections.
@@sonic101official Not really because Forces' acceleration is completely broken and the double jump is horribly nerfed.
Lost World at least has a stable walk speed with a run button to compensate. And Lost World's double jump, much like Colors', is a perfectly-adequate double jump.

No. It's a technological disaster and a complete failure on every level... Every level except for commercially, because Sega put money before the fans. And the more people who say it's good, or even that it's not bad, means that Sega are getting away with that decision. And that's appalling.

Great mod. Sonic Lost World is one of my favourite Sonic games, has some of the best level design in the series in my opinion.

@@jovani6044 I don't think it lacked identity, personally, but I do feel that it didn't use enough of its ideas well enough. The parkour works fine (and I will say now, I've only played the Wii U version), but only ever seems to be needed in irritating places, and other than that there's no point to it. And then the flying/hovering levels. Jesus Christ no. Awful mistake to keep those in instead of the Tornado level they also have, which was great fun.
I enjoy the level design because I think it does have some imaginative ideas (e.g. Frozen Factory Zone 2) that work OK, and it actually combined speed and exploration in a way that no other Sonic game has in my opinion.
Also, little mention of Silent Forest Zone 4. Ingenious, how they did the silhouette level but made the switches light up in the dark so you knew where they were rather than them being awkwardly contrasted with the background. Sonic Mania should have taken note.

I miss the balance mechanic while grinding on rails from Sonic Adv2 and Heroes. :(
Balancing was only in SA2.
@@Swifty_Shifty Heroes had a veeeery simplified version of it only used to help acceleration better. You could no longer fall off due to bad balancing, but it was still there.
this game mechanics looks a bit like sonic team remaking the adventure style, is pretty solid than forces...
I would like if theres was a complete mod to play all sonic stages in lost world, it fits in really good
I hope Sega at least use lost world's animations for future games. Using the peel out as the animation for the basic run just looks so good.

@@XGForceMinecraft No, it's not. If you've played it, you'll know that *technically* (as in, on a techincal level) it's a badly made game. Objectively, certain features weren't coded so don't function (e.g. purple gem). Objectively, every version of the game lags uncontrollably and there are many glitches besides that. Objectively, it wasn't properly tested (e.g.s Shadow's glider in Kingdom Valley and the sky gem).
It's subjectivity comes in whether it's enjoyable, and I can't answer that for anyone nor would I ever try to. But while your point usually holds fairly firm, you've chosen one of the only Sonic games where it's not true.

Honestly, Lost world's physics and controls are one of the best from the entire series. What was bad about Lost world is... the rest. Art style, level design, and story sucked so hard.

Lost World's top speed is actually really poor though. Sonic 06 had its slow moments, but at its fastest, 06 got to be as fast as most boost titles.
