    Cool video. I got recessed spots in the kitchen. It cost 20£ to order a new panel unit/bulb. I took one apart.nits basically a plastic unit housing a connection wire soldered to a led strip. Can I rip off the strip and solder a new strip to it ? Thanks and Thumbs Up !

    • @thebesthowtobyclem6908
      @thebesthowtobyclem6908  Год назад +1

      It all depends on how long your LED strips are. That is why it is important to calculate the length of your LEDS to make sure what power you need.

    Great vid but can you advise how to take 2 single rows and wire them together in an alumnium channel, side by side. Therefore it would be a double row. How to do the wiring?, thanks.

      @@thebesthowtobyclem6908 They would be side by side, no spacing. Hence, why I'm mind boggled,how to tin and wire them in such confined space.
      I know I probably should have bought a twinrow in the first place...

    • @thebesthowtobyclem6908
      @thebesthowtobyclem6908  3 года назад

      You can do it in several ways. One is to cut both LED'S strips to the length you need and before you stick it, solder them with a short wire and then stick it to the channel and if you have to much wire twirl it.

      Very good question, No, as long it's not sitting on a conductive material. You can add two way tape in order to isolated from a conductive material if you need too. It's rear that we put it on a conductive material. Most of the time we apply it on wood, stone, drywall or on PVC. I hope this answers your question. What other things would you like to learn?

    • @rustamyussupov6161
      @rustamyussupov6161 3 года назад +1

      So I bought two led strips, and didn’t want to use 2 remotes so I soldered them together, and now the other half is just one colour while the first half is as it should. When I change the colour only the first half is changing while the second is still same colour

    • @thebesthowtobyclem6908
      @thebesthowtobyclem6908  3 года назад +1

      This normally happens when you solder and you are not carefully. Their could be a possibility that if you have RGB+ one of your solder is touching two colors. When you solder the two together some times the solder will touch two connectors and you should be able to see a different color. For example when red and green touches it will give a different color. So when ever you solder always check each color. You should only have red, green and blue.

    Never use a soldering gun on this it will destroy the strip, guns produce to much heat.

    • @thebesthowtobyclem6908
      @thebesthowtobyclem6908  11 месяцев назад +1

      What are you talking about? That's the way I have done it for 12 years. It's the opposite, if you use a soldering gun that does not have enough heat it will destroy the setup. That is why I recommend the gun that I'm using because it gets hot and you are able to do it faster. .

    • @JFM1170
      @JFM1170 11 месяцев назад +1

      I guess it's terminology a gun is not a pencil a gun will produce 100 or 200W of power way to much for any small projects. I have been soldering for over 40 years and may used a gun a hand full of times. Most small projects require maybe 700 to 800 degrees of heat with a Weller ETA or an ETA-5 tip, I prefer the ETA-5 better for small lands and prevents bridges. Also in the repair you did which was good you have to support the back of the strip with something like hot glue top and bottom the solder is not enough for a permanent hold. Keep soldering

      No problem, I was trying to see if you were meaning a different type of equipment and it sounded like you were. All good. One of my videos I do talk about the different powers on soldering guns in how they do make a difference. Thank you again
