This message Light made to anyone who'd discover X is so much more hopeful than what was given in the original. It makes sense because of how X was originally meant to be a villain (which I'm personally glad that didn't happen) but this message feels more like something Light would say and it truly feels like the last words of someone who hopes one day his dream can become Reality.
I love the purpose that Maverick Hunter X gave to...well, X. If they had managed to succeed in remaking games like X-X6, it woulda been so dang successful...
Same. It really makes you wonder how much further they could have taken things. As much as I love the X series, one flaw was because of Inafune wanting to focus on Zero and the MMZ series. MHX really showed just why X was in Dr Light's eyes, the future hope of mankind. It really gives a sense of mysticism that THIS is what Megaman's younger 'brother' would become. A legacy that X would have (And has I might add) carried and given so much more weight to it. Lets hope with a potential X9, they can relight the magic they put in MHX
With the narrative effort they put into this, I'd have loved to see what they did with X5. Maybe they would have actually made Zero the final boss of the game like he should have been.
This ending is even more sadder and bitter sweet that we'll never have another continuation of Maverick Hunter X continuity or X's story past X8. IMO it's Capcom's best remake, especially on the story telling.
X wasn't just a name that showed the 90's extreme fever. Much like Wolverine's weapon "X" code name based off the roman number 10, X here stood for the variable "unknown". Ranging from 1 to infinity which is of course limitless. As is his potential. and Zero; nothing. dividing by zero destroys any equation such was his design; to destroy X. and the fact they became not only allies, but brothers is so beautiful when they're supposed to be enemies. It gives off a fox and the hound vibe to me. One I relate to a lot.
Zero may amount to 0 VALUE... But 0? As a number... Still Exists. It's an EMPTY Thought. 100 or 10,001? It's a bit of BINARY, right? The FENCE is ZERO. I love mevaerick hunter x, basically is the only game in the franchise that completely focused on X as absolute protagonist, i love the other games but were too focused on Zero,, sigma or AXL
lol Zero essentially was going to be X so that kinda explains that. also later games show they don't know what to do with someone like X cept in maybe megaman x8
Atomic Deathray He isn't on MMX1-3 and X7 and X8. The only games that really focused on Zero was X4, X5, X6(to a certain extent) and of course, the Zero series. But the X series most certainly do not revolves around Zero.
The only game that focuses on X is X1 and this one. X2 is about rebuilding Zero, X3 is about nothing, X4 might as well not even have X in the story, X5 has a lot more to do with Zero than X, X6 is largely about Gate, X7 is all about Axl, and X8 is about the giant space dick and its children.
So much zero fandom here, megaman x series focuse on X development and zero its important as a senpai figure, so zero is important for the main character development. X2 you have to build up zero cause his dead in part its something for what he felts responsable, X3 its about nothing, X4 IS ABOUT zero, but X5 revolves about what X and Zero were supossed to be: ENEMIES Sigma founds about zero creator and his mean reason to create him so he wants to exploits that mean to be rivalry that never happened. Command mission its about how would be a decent X leader and explaining in the opening how the fuck the teleport works and why in the 2d games we werent able to go directly to the boss room
Maverick Hunter X was legitimately one of the best remakes of a game I've ever played. Capcom killed it with this, and even though it came out in 2005, it still holds up today.
they need to reboot the x series and focus the story on x , I like Zero as much the other guy but after 4 you can see that it was Zero's story and X is a supporting role .
I disagree on that mainly cause x5s bad ending was meant to be Canon originally. Funny enough X has more story than Zero in the Zero series if you think about it. X6 was definitely Zeros game, X7 was Axls game. X8 felt like they given all three characters their time to shine
Well... If anyone ELSE has a problem with turning Sadness into ANGER? It's me. It can be done. Any and EVERY Thought has a VIBRATION (a form of ENERGY). 1st Law of THERMO Dynamics? Transfer and Transform. Convert emotion into PHYSICAL energy? Yep. It's done.
Would have been interesting, to say the least. Maybe MHX2 would have introduced the original planned fourth female X-Hunter, and she and Violen would have gotten upgraded forms?
@@bcrossfire1219 Tbh I was interested in the potential remakes of the three PS1 games more than the other two SNES games. X5 and X6 needed a lot of cleaning up and think the new MHX continuity would have done a lot for them. Not to mention it was a chance to just make much more competent versions of those games. X2 thru X4 are all pretty fine as is tho remakes still would have been really cool.
Still my favorite Sci Fi series with AI robots, everyone thinks robots will destroy the world but personally I think they will surprise us by trying to both destroy us and help us all at once like the X series if we ever make a self aware machine.
*X* : You will not believe the day I had, first I had to fight and kill all my friends and then I had to dropkick my ex bosses face in and then a purple boba fett killed my green big tiddied Red horned girlfriend.
This theme honestly would make for one heck of an intro to a Mega Man X anime or maybe another reboot. It's been long enough, Capcom; if we're not gonna get Mega Man X9 anytime soon, let's revisit the original, yeah? Of course, I have a design for a grand reboot of my own in the works, that I call _Mega Man X: A New Age._
dr. lights history is when in the 200X's (The Classic/Battle Network) when dr. light and dr. wily teamed up together to make robots, the first was the prototype for dr. lights creation (protoman and you might need to check out mega x and the first episode of megaman animated series) and wily thinked that was a good idea so protoman ran away and dr. wily reprogrammed him. earlier on, mega and roll (rock and roll as a reference to music) was built to become house keeper robots. solo on, dr. light and dr. wily joined the robot building contest, dr. light and wily built 6 robots (not the mavericks-the robot masters) Iceman, fireman, bombman ,elecman ,gutsman and cutman, then after... dr. wily became angry and wanted to rule the world so dr. wily reprogramming the robot masters so he could rule the world, later on. dr. light saw the destruction of wily's robots that light actually built, so he called out rock and roll (Mega and roll) to see the destruction of lights robot masters, then mega called out to light that he wanted to be a robot. then earlier on... Rock (Mega) Became MegaMan (Classic) or (Rockman) That's the Origin of Dr. Light And The First 1987 MegaMan Gamw
+DESOFFICIAL1 I think two things: 1. You need to become much better at writing. 2. You need to re-read the story. Dr. Wily never reprogrammed Protoman, he just repaired him. Protoman ( _Blues_ ) had a faulty core but due to this fault he gained something no other robot have had - A sense of sense and selfworth. In the grand scheme of things, Protoman is the father of X since both possess free will and the ability to think for themselves. Because of Dr. Wily's repairs, Protoman had a sense of loyalty towards Wily and assisted him during MM3 under the name of Breakman. And all musical references is; Megaman - Rock Roll - Roll Protoman - Blues Rush - Rush Beat - Beat Tango - Tango Bass - Forte Treble - Gospel And this is just scratching the surface of course. You have... So many errors.
Damn man to hear how long it's been in megaman time dr light those comedic like missions are gone its all so serious 😕 which u love megaman x time better then any other smh
Uhh, That's not true. Inafune planned for X5 to be the last in the series, with Zero's death leading to his resurrection in the Zero series. However, because X6 had begun without his knowledge, he decided to alter the story of the Zero series to fit in with X6, 7 and 8. If what you said was true and X5 was the last canon game in the series, How would Zero be resurrected to fight in the Elf wars? There is no History gap in the X series. Every game fits into one canon storyline.
Same way he was resurrected in X2: He was rebuilt. It simply took 100 years for humans to actually understand how Zero worked so he could be rebuilt properly.
Fun fact: I may be wrong, but I think that bike is the same bike X rides in the opening stage of Mega Man X2 before it was destroyed (along with the green biker dude), leading to the game Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X2 which never actually happened because Capcom's cancellation of future games due to commercial failure.
Megaman 11. Explains actually how the feud came about by incorporating the new game mechanic of the double gear into the story. Real great image of Dr. Wily in bed with a cute sleeping cap on his head remembering his past feud with Light. A committee voted to approve going ahead with Light's idea of developing robots with consciousness. This felt like a betrayal to Wily, and it kind of is hard to see it any other way. There must be something to explain why they went into the meeting so heated to begin with, but regardless... Light's idea was approved, while Wily's idea of the double gear system - which had the drawback of pushing robots beyond what they were physically built to sustain, just as there are clear drawbacks to giving robots consciousness - was rejected. Wily's prototype double gear is installed in Megaman, just as Wily installs it into the newest wave of robots, who were visiting Light's lab for an annual checkup when Wily attacked and - using his own speed gear - captured them all and reprogrammed them. No spoilers, but I do wanna talk about the ending of the game. It's classic Megaman but great still.
@HamsterGoddess True ;_; I watch the news and hear that more and more soldiers are dying everyday because of the war in Afghanistan. Could humanity live to befriend people without suffering so much when their loved ones die in war?
Ignore if you have heard this before, X6, 7, 8 and Megaman Zero Series were the two branches of the canon story where the numbered were Capcom's version and the Zero Series was the original creators version. Ugh, This was a speech of history, what a bore.
Don't know how much of a hot take this is, but this beats the original SNES ending by over a hundred miles. The original ending was just X wondering when the fighting would be over, and nothing else of substance. This ending not only shows Dr. Light's final wish and message, but why X fights in the first place. Those who want change have no choice but to fight one way or another, it's why progress always ends up in a war like Dr. Light said, because there will always be people against change. People who follow the franchise know about what happens later on, but it's because of X's actions as to why there are still heros fighting for the good left in the world (as I am referring to the Zero series) X is the world's hope because he gives hope to those who would otherwise have none.
It is and isn't. The first one was melancholy and Z lamenting over his pain and why he has to fight like this which fits his character plus we got that cast roll and sweet ending music and teaser. Here, all MHX did was take the opening from the original game and repurposed it as the ending since Dr. Light's speech is his reworked warning about Mega Man X. But that's more of a pro than a con.
That is what you call a Capcom lie =) Sales of Maverick Hunter X actually pushed sales of PSPs worldwide. Where it did NOT was in Japan only. Gaming has "moved on" over there, evolving in a different direction than western world gaming. Capcom does not wish to "trifle with", or rather, put up with more classic gaming design and thoughts. And now we have Azura's Wrath.....
Seeing Zero's bike just standing there is one of the most heart wrenching things ever.
He did come back in X2 though XD then later died again

Fun fact: I may be wrong, but I think that bike is the same bike X rides in the opening stage of Mega Man X2 before it was destroyed (along with the green biker dude), leading to the game Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X2 which never actually happened because Capcom's cancellation of future games due to commercial failure.
Seeing the credits at yhe same time as the ending cutcene is unique
Yup, that's the game I got the name from
i wonder, how come they never did x2 through x5 like this? did they intend to, or was just not well recurved enough to do so?
they ruined mega man for a while.
we had nothing.
but now.
Capcom is bringing our blue boy home.
Huh?
Nostraugica 👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩 love 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 faz lembrar da infância
I'm mad that we never got more remakes since aparently this was lime a softreboot so who knows what else would had been different
@HamsterGoddess
True ;_;
I watch the news and hear that more and more soldiers are dying everyday because of the war in Afghanistan. Could humanity live to befriend people without suffering so much when their loved ones die in war?
0:37 0:47 1:10 1:25 1:40 1:50
I know there are gonna be a lot of people trying to killing me for say this.... This is the best from MHX
Ignore if you have heard this before, X6, 7, 8 and Megaman Zero Series were the two branches of the canon story where the numbered were Capcom's version and the Zero Series was the original creators version. Ugh, This was a speech of history, what a bore.
Don't feel bad for doctor light he was wearing a snuggie blanket
Don't know how much of a hot take this is, but this beats the original SNES ending by over a hundred miles. The original ending was just X wondering when the fighting would be over, and nothing else of substance.
This ending not only shows Dr. Light's final wish and message, but why X fights in the first place. Those who want change have no choice but to fight one way or another, it's why progress always ends up in a war like Dr. Light said, because there will always be people against change. People who follow the franchise know about what happens later on, but it's because of X's actions as to why there are still heros fighting for the good left in the world (as I am referring to the Zero series)
X is the world's hope because he gives hope to those who would otherwise have none.
Does anyone know how to listen to the credits theme without Dr.Light speaking?
ShadowX511 play ios version and buy maverick hunter x soundtrack.
Games like the Professor Layton series are on the DS and have anime cutscenes.
Rip zero
Just Like me I'm the worlds last hope
Why didn't they make marverick 2
is this credits song a slown down version of the original game's credits song?
0_0 woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got to finish the game got to FUCK I DIED AGAIN
what the fuck ive seen the first episode and this part only why dont they just have an official anime for this
No clue. I guess they like ignoring money...
Kind of depressing to think that by finding that Capsule Dr Cain unknowing doomed humanity to extinction (even if it takes a few thousand years). >..>
What happend to the other megaman I wonder
@iggo lonely
Then what happened tho
That is what you call a Capcom lie =) Sales of Maverick Hunter X actually pushed sales of PSPs worldwide. Where it did NOT was in Japan only. Gaming has "moved on" over there, evolving in a different direction than western world gaming. Capcom does not wish to "trifle with", or rather, put up with more classic gaming design and thoughts. And now we have Azura's Wrath.....
This is how it was when the Megaman X series was ruined.....
is there ne way to get the track withouth dr light speaking over it?
Actually I Have PPSSPP (PlayStation Portable Emulator for Android)
No because the project was dropped.
They sold out. Like so many others. It's depressing.
I don't understand your reply.
Would have been so cool to see what would it have been like if Zero was the main character.
Someone make a copypasta of dr light's speech please
