Your first mistake was mounting your antenna to your neighbors fence without permission, granted you two need to discuss this issue. But, your new placement is much better and I doubt you'll have a problem.
The camera is the difference between being suspicious about someone and evidence.
If you would hang a 2m antenna from the tree you could think about a colinear antenna for 2m that tree just asking for it. Bigger range, but also better reception.
Hi, I enjoy your videos! And I am saddened that someone cut your coax! I do have to say that installing your antenna on someone else's fence, without their permission, probably was not the wisest thing to do. I don't mean to be a downer, but you clearly stated that you mounted the antenna on the neighbors fence?
I did temporarily however, they should not have cut the coax and just come to talk to me.
@@DarrenN4VFR Your neighbors should have come talk to you? What? Perhaps you should have talked to your neighbors before installing your antenna on their property. Inconsiderate clowns like you give considerate ops like all of us a bad name. If you installed your antenna on my property your cut coax would be the least of your worries as you would need a whole new antenna. Aside from you, who thinks it would be ok to temporarily borrow, without permission, someone else's property on which you would attach your antenna.
@@1912rider I'm glad someone realized that they do have the right to clear their property. It should be a lesson learned. I'm not sure why this otherwise intelligent guy doesn't get that primary principle. Now I agree that people should talk first and try to reconcile. But, sorry, Captain Darren--you're in error on this point. If I use your logic, I could just go ahead and borrow your roof for my 2m antenna--just temporarily.

Some people hate us Amateur Radio Operators and they will probably come to your property when your not home and may snip more of your coax cables. I hope it doesn't happen to you.

I used to live in the worst hoods of SoCali where gang activities and gunfire happened several times a day. Someone came on my yard to steal empty beer cans from me to take them to the Yunkyard to cash refound money and one guy smashed the side Window of my old Toyota Camry trying to grabb the car stereo and trade it for dope. BUT NO ONE EVER touched my antennas or coax cable.
