    John could of been a banjo playing comedian himself. He's so witty. Was that Andy Kaufman sitting next to him on the Tonight Show? What a cool life he's had. Thank you for sharing such an awesome guy with us. I love his music even more now.

    Martin and McKuen would take umbrage with your use of a "banjitar" in your thumbnail . (lol) Excellent post and video. I've been a fan of both of them since the 60s. They were lucky enough to be ahead of the banjo popularity curve and were able to purchase priceless pre WWII Gibson banjos when you could buy them in a pawn shop for 50 bucks. (Some go as high as 50k today)

    If you liked this - take a look at "the life I picked" - his autobiography. Excellent book. Thanks for this video. I was learning banjo about the same time - the brings back a lot of good memories...
