I just came back from a 1.5 day trip yesterday. All our YFT were bigger fish 35-80 pounds with most fish over 50 pounds. We had zero fish on the troll.
Try a 4 or 5 inch chrome BuzzBomb . They spin when they fall and slide on the line like an egg sinker so I recommend putting a bobber stop an inch above the lure. Buzzbomb lures swim like a surface iron on the retrieve and spin and do a big zag on the fall. Lots of action on the fall . I caught my first yellowfin on a 4 inch chrome one. If you don't put a bobber stop an inch above the lure it will slide up the line and when the fish bites and runs the treble hook will get it in the tail EVERY time . Just a tiny rubber bobber stop will prevent this but don't peg the lure , leave an inch between the stopper and the top of the lure . Thanks for reading.
That was rad watching your episode live on the ranger 85. Jake and his crew worked hard getting us on the fish. Best crew out there cant wait to get out again.
Captain Jake and the Crew were awesome. Good vibes on the boat. It was a pleasure fishing with you Curtis. Congrats on that PB Tuna. Keep up the great work on the rods. Tight lines bro!
Thanks JR! Good luck on your upcoming Tomahawk trip. Be prepared for anything. I had no clue we were going to be fishing for YFT until I stepped on the boat.
Was hoping you guys would get into some huge ones. Those bait you were using didn't stand a chance. I was wondering if they were directionally challenged and you couldn't get them to go away from the boat. Either way you went through some serious bait Lol. That cedar lure seemed to work but the metal definitely worked. I would think that if there was plenty of chum in the water the success rate would go up. Either way it was a great video ❤
Yes I lost a small bluefin early this season that got off the cedar plug. I gets bit but the profile compared to a feather makes is easier to shake. Those halos both the lipped laser minnow and the halo max were getting bit good this trip.
I’m trying to learn live bait fishing. Can you explain why you only use a bait fishing for 30 seconds and then throw it away? They look like they are still alive and kicking, why keep changing?
No bad days on the water Mikey!!✌🏻 Enjoy the sport boat videos. Glad you got on some of those YF. My favorite for sashimi and sushi 🍣 🐟 Keep’m bent!!! }
Light load booked and night captan Ryan invited me on the trip. I hooked the crew up with a nice tip on my way out and got lots of content to share. Good vibes. Thanks for watching.

Enjoyed the nice long trip watching on a Saturday morning! Yeah ! Ahi !
Perfect video for me Mikey, I'm on the Royal Star Tuesday on a four day hoping for yellowfin. Tight lines and keep the content coming, one love.
Right on Tommy. Glad it worked good for you like that. Good luck on your trip. I hope you get some wahoo. Tight lines my friend.

Great job i just started following ya ! Good stuff bruh
Hey Mikey, great video. Good work, Was it me, or was the bait kind of jacked up.
Nice video Mikey I love the ranger
Man that reel has seen some better days huh 10:03
That old guy scavenger is nicknamed the Pelican....man he pesters people sometimes.
That guy asked me if he could have one of my yellowfin, I told him to go fishing.

Gone through so much bait can't hook them better just wondering I've never been yet
Bad bait, not enough bait, no night fishing, small yellowfin and skipjack. That was a rough fishing trip!
Mikey…. Any experience on Tribute or Excalibur?
Cedar plug notorious for dumping fish

With the yellows straight down, it might have been interesting to try slow pitch jigging. Was anyone doing that?

Hey Mikey. There weren't a lot of fisherman, did you go for free ??😊😊

Cedar plug sucks, feather work better with double hooks. Mickey, leave your bait out longer, not for thirty seconds, lol
Right on Alex. Good Call I'm going to try that next time. Thanks for watching and the feedback. Tight lines my friend.
There something called editing that might make your video watchable….
Putting bait 30 feet from the boat for 30 seconds is a waste of good bait. Cool video but watch your bait.
