With Staley now fired, let's remember that the Chargers have the dubious distinction of firing their coach (Marty Schottenheimer) after a 14-2 season. Like... who besides the Chargers would fire a coach after a 14-2 season?
Schottenheimer has to be rated as one of the greatest coaches of all time for that reason alone. Who else would’ve had the skill, wherewithal and patience to rebuild the Chargers from the ground up and turn them into a 14-2 team? Jimmy Johnson? Joe Gibbs? Bill Walsh? Maybe Marv Levy since he made the Bills a contender. Maybe Tom Landry or Vince Lombardi. The list isn’t very long. With as cursed as that franchise is, what Marty did is little short of miraculous.
I remember Staley's first year constantly going for it on 4th down and losing close games directly due to never kicking easy field goals. Then forcing the Raiders to win an OT guy when they were content with a tie and both teams making the playoffs. He always acted like the media was crazy for second guessing his stupid decisions.

I like how the chargers have been going through a revolving door of head coaches over the last 3 decades, yet never realize its the owner and management that fails the team year in and year out since 1994 (and that was shit luck they made the big game that year) by micromanaging everything while paying attention to nothing the team actually does. Hell, I don't think Tom Telesco ever even attended or watched a chargers game during his tenure.
Staley just got canned. Game Over. ❌
Uhh Ekeler killing my fantasy team with that abysmal performance. Once it was 28 zip I knew he's going to be game scripted out. Yet the hockey stick put up a decent fantasy performance a la 2015 Bortles with 3 garbage time TDs.
Remember that collective SJW hissyfit the top RBs threw? How'd that work out for them? 🤣
Update: Staley was officially fired Friday Morning today.
Honestly, he sucked as a HC.
Chargers were scary a couple years ago when their QB was a rookie...
He looked like another Dan Marino type for a while...
They also had Bosa on the Dline....
Then the entire team regressed
Staley's actually the second Chargers HC to be fired since Herbert was drafted. Maybe the coaches aren't the problem, hmmm...
@@DolFan316they fired the real problem too. Telesco.
Well, it was just announced Staley is fired.
ole Franky was riding his horse back and forth 😭😭😭
Literally checked 2 different apps to make sure that was the right score
I wonder at what point the decision to fire him was made, maybe before halftime.
Chargers should’ve never fired Anthony Lynn. They did this to themselves.
Lynn was Terrible lol
UhhhMmmmm.. anthony lynn was worse than norv.
Wow, this is a really bad performance by the Chargers considering that the Raiders got blanked 3-0 by the Vikings the previous week
Even worse than my team allowing Will Levis to come from 14 down with 3 minutes left to win in regulation, and I NEVER thought a team could do worse than THAT!
There was a nfl player who retired at halftime
If you are a team who allows 63 to a divisional rival who is absolute garbage, everyone on that chargers staff should be fired, preferably out of a cannon
HES BEEN FIRED TIME TO CELEBRATE!
He's been fired
defense requires a mantilty an intensity and the fact that Brandon Staley only shows any type of intseity at the post game press conference is telling. there is no desire no pursuit on that defense with Hall of fame talent. And the fact he is supposed to be a defensive coach is pathtic
Prescient af
Curious if Frank Coughlin is of any relations to former head coach Tom Coughlin?
None
That was a good video- I don’t know if he would’ve been fired at halftime ll like what happened in 1921 -ihavent seen the raiders score that many points over the chargers since they whipped them 51-0 in 1967 ! But correct me if I’m wrong on this one!😮😮😮😮😮
Awesome video bro. Idk how you find this stuff
I wonder what would happen if a coach left a team or retired at halftime like Vontae Davis many years ago🤔
I’m surprised my score prediction of 63-14 wasn’t far off.
is clear that chargers players got this planned . no way such a weak team like the raiders would beat anyone with a score of 63 . brandon lost the players long time ago . i wish brandon the best, he beat cancer sure he will survive this.
Especially since they lost the previous game 3-0!!! The fix was definitely in only this time gamblers WEREN'T involved for once.
As a chargers fan I was pretty depressed at halftime. Then I was happy realizing staley is getting fired which I woke up to.
Thanks for sharing. Fascinating! Shawn R., Mo-Mutt Music/Sacred & Secular (and football fan)
I was beyond excited about the game, but even I wanted Staley to be fired for the Charger’s sake.
Somehow, as of me writing this comment, Brandon Staley is still a head coach in the NFL
Never mind, his ass is gone
The clock is ticking on sirianni not this year but one day I think
When was the last time 2 teams scored 50 or 60 points in a game in the same season?
50 points has happened often
60? Last time was 1973

If Vonte Davis can quit during a game he can be fired during the game
