Crnac is a number 9 but has been signed as someone who can also play out wide. The club thought it would be difficult to get a quality striker to join when they were more than likely to be playing second fiddle to Sargent. Crnac has struggled since Sargents injury but is finally starting to come to grips with the league. Having Angus Gunn back is also huge as our number two GK isn't good enough.
As a Norwich fan I’m hoping we’ve got our sticky spell with injuries out of the way. If our core 11-15 stay fit we can definitely make the play-offs as it’s an even league this year. We could just as well finish 12th but we will be entertaining in doing so! Boro were unbelievable at CR. I’d happily watch us meet again in the play-offs. We have Burnley and Sunderland just before Christmas, get a decent return there and we are in good shape
We’re exactly the same at Boro. Blackburn was an example of what could happen when we lose our key players and the drop off is massive. If we keep our top XI fit, we’re gunna be top 6 comfortably I feel
Excellent assessment of my team Norwich at present Sam , defensively we leak goals by being brave on the ball playing out and this will continue until all players click 100% we the fans are happy with this we love the style of play and accept the risks . This was more exposed when we lost all are midfielders now they are returning hopefully the sloppy goals will go .👍💚💛
As an update, Thorup says he's looking to become more defensively solid, as he doesn't see a leaky defence achieving a top 6 finish. That might mean less attacking play, though if we stopped making stupid mistakes and giving the ball away we can keep attacking and stop conceding.
To answer Sam's question about why Norwich have only one 9: Pukki was so good for so long he blocked Srbeny, Idah and Hugil getting any minutes. Barnes was injured in the playoff semi and is only now coming back. Idah didn't convince when he started, and even at Celtic he seems like an impact sub. Hwang looked like he could have replaced Sargent's energy in the press, but his ... personal life ... meant he was too toxic for a family club like Norwich, especially after dropping BK8 for their pornographic marketing. Rowe, and possibly Kamara, were earmarked as potential strikers (Rowe being just as good as Sainz at long range) but both wanted to jump ship. Leaving only Crnac. (Marcondes only joining well into the season. )
Great comments ben and sam as always, injuries to key players a month ago cost us at least 3 more wins, marcondes, ante crnac are now finding there feet, McLean, Nunez back along side Angus gunn we have our team back, Sargent back in January is going to help 2,the thing that does cost us is when we let teams have soft goals, the wba away has given us more confidence and last 2 matches 10 goals which could easily have been double figures against Plymouth, going forward we look good but to be top 6 our defence has got to tighten up,but good feeling round the club right now,in jht i trust that he is taking us in the right direction 💛💚🇬🇫🙏🏆🏴🥳
Also in relation to Sam’s comments of crnac, he is a striker/winger. He obviously was never going to start through the middle when Sarg was fit, but I think the clubs idea was if Sarg did get injured, he could fill in that position, the problem is he’s only 20, new country, new league etc and it’s taken him a while to get up to speed, but we are starting to see that confidence grow now, and performances improve and there’s a serious talent there, just needs patience.
Our (Boro) issue isn’t inconsistency which I think is a bit of a lazy description for Boro because we have been very consistent, even the games we have lost we dominate possession and chances created. Our issue is the inability to breakdown sides who employ a low block. Well organised defence sides can shut us out and we give our opposition opportunities out of individual errors. If teams play football against us and give us space to play though then we cut through them. This is why we have beaten Leeds West Brom and Sheff Utd, but have lost to Derby Blackburn Bristol city and Sunderland (all games we failed to score in) If we can cut out the individual errors and get better at grinding results out against sides who play low blocks then we could would be top 2 imo.
Norwich just doing really well like we are scoring a lot of goals but I think Middlesbrough and Leeds will be too tough games away for Norwich but if there’s anything is there if there’s anyone who can get anything out of them it is Norwich
But Norwich have got Queens Park Rangers away and I just think Queens Park Rangers are struggling and that is gonna be an advantage for Norwich like that. I think it’s Portsmouth away for Norwich could be another game we could just get through.
@@BenjaminBloomhi Ben sorry mate wasn’t calling you lazy, I didn’t mean it like that. I just think the inconsistent label doesn’t reflect the side we are. Teams who get results against us get their tactics spot on. My lack of vocabulary maybe. It’s next to impossible for you two watch every clubs games we (fans) have the benefit of seeing us play week in week out, so it wasn’t having a go. I really enjoy your content!
All good buddy, I'll delete my comment above!! Totally agree with everything you've said, just think Sam was referring to the results being inconsistent as we've definitely commented on the process being consistent. Looking forward to seeing how it all progresses 🙂
I’ve said this on one of your other posts, any Norwich fan will tell you the best side we’ve seen at carrow road this season and tbh probably over the last couple of years or so, is this boro side. They were sensational first half, and it does confuse me a little that they aren’t right at top in that mix as things stand. I’m sure they will be come the end of the season though. Our season just depends on key players staying fit, if they can then we can def push for playoffs, but if we lose 3 or 4 key players again for another spell, mid table would be a realistic goal this season. No coincidence having Gunn, Nunez, McLean, Sarg, Barnes, Hernandez etc out our form dropped off a cliff, and now they are all pretty much back apart from Sarg, we are playing well and scoring plenty of goals again! Either way it’s been a very promising and enjoyable season so far! OTBC
I think Lath will start against Burnley. Stoke got a little joy when they pushed them back, but lacked the cutting edge. Boro need a quick start, which is not usually the norm. Hackney and Barlaser have to be on their game to win the MF battle. Hopefully, goals will come and Burnley have to mix it up a bit. We play better, when teams have to open up against us.
I dont think Norwich have lost to any of the top 6? Draws against Blades, Leeds and Rovers at home. The away draw at WBA was a great game and showed Norwich's attacking intentions whether at home or not.
We (boro) have alot of injuries at the back. Rav is out for a few months , smith and lenihan have not been seen this season, fry just bsck after 9 months out, engel has been out for months, bangoura out for the season . We have a relatively young squad an bthey are some of our most expirenced players
In my opinion, Boro are lacking the "know how" to get the job done. Too many times they've slipped up against teams they should be beating instead Burnley and Sheffield United are beating them and getting the job done. Norwich and Boro will finish in play offs

Think we need to hang onto sainz aswell hope we don't sell him ☝️☝️🤦
@@vinny2242 Sainz is just a hair short of PL pace it will put a few clubs off I think. (Lets hope so anyway! 😂)

Norwich 3 Boro 3 still one of the best games of the season so far. Fair play to both clubs for entertaining football. We need this

Boro fan here,
Watch us score more goals at Burnley Friday than they have conceded all season there

Wednesday been quite entertaining with these last minute winners this season ben 👀
100% Norwich will make the play offs, if we didnt have the horrific injuries we would easily be Top 6. We still have Sarge and Cordoba to come back!
I think Lath will start against Burnley. Stoke got a little joy when they pushed them back, but lacked the cutting edge. Boro need a quick start, which is not usually the norm. I can't see Norwich being anywhere near to inconsistent qpr just proved that . Norwich will sell the best players as always xx
You forgot to mention in your chat that Angus Gunn and Kenny McClean have just returned from injury they were a huge miss
I have to agree with Sam. What is a natural arm position when you are running jumping or standing still?
I dont think Norwich have lost to any of the top 6? Draws against Blades, Leeds and Rovers at home. The away draw at WBA was a great game and showed Norwich's attacking intentions whether at home or not.
The point about goals against here at Norwich is slightly misleading. Gunn's g/a is far better than Long who conceded 12 in 6.

Boro were unlucky against Blackburn last week to be hit with a sickness bug. Also the Blackburn goal was a yard offside.
The true test for boro is Burnley and Leeds in next week pick up 4 or 6 points and the top 2 race is on.
Boro fan - don’t think so, the defence is probably too fragile and you need a strong home form to really challenge top 2, something we don’t have 👍
Can Sam come to Argyle for the next 2 games we need our lucky charm. 💚
Blackburn did not score a goal at Boro.
For Boro, dael fry is not very good on the ball as in playing out from the back! Edmundson and Clarke is the much better partnership
In my opinion, Boro are lacking the "know how" to get the job done. Too many times they've slipped up against teams they should be beating instead Burnley and Sheffield United are beating them and getting the job done. Norwich and Boro will finish in play offs
A lot of the goals Norwich concede are of self making and basically poor mistakes from players looking to learn the system
Stick that poll back up at the end of the season. We're back baby 🔰🔥
