    I genuinely love how he teaches beginners. Like, this kid doesn’t even have a board. It’s so much more authentic and it adds that much more to the video. I also love how they show the process n their fails a lot, instead of jump cutting a lot until they get it right. Great vid!!

Have done the old carpet skating technique, hold the fence at the park and try to ollie, even as far as to lock out his bearings. This I think may take the cake. • @daytonwintle6051
      @daytonwintle6051 5 лет назад +39

      BrunoDSL it kind of does matter. People naturally go one way. Just like writing, throwing, holding a hockey stick. Natural preference is important to begin

    • @BrunodeSouzaLino
      @BrunodeSouzaLino 5 лет назад +11

      @@daytonwintle6051 How can you tell the difference when you don't know the difference? I can give you two examples. Dave Matthews Band drummer Carter Beauford learned how to play drums by watching himself on the mirror and copying drumming videos. Carter is right handed. He learned how to play drums left handed. Guitarist Eric Gales is left handed but plays his guitar strung like a right handed guitar. He didn't have a left handed guitar when he first started learning. By the time he could get a left handed guitar strung properly, he chose to not do it, as he would have to relearn everything he already knew.

    • @daytonwintle6051
      @daytonwintle6051 5 лет назад +4

      @@BrunodeSouzaLino my friend is a lefty that plays guitar righty. That's a pretty standard instrument. Most people dont even know about left handed guitars until after they already learn. And I know that there is a natural bias because before I knew how to skateboard or snowboard, I tried both ways and one was much easier at first. Same in hockey. I've played my whole life and I'm pretty good, but turning left with my left foot forward still feels a little better than turning right. I can turn the exact same either way but I still feel it

AARON YOU FORGOT TO MENTION HE NEEDS TO HOP. His right foot was basically glued to the board. Fortunately he seems to have figured it out on his own later but in a kinda "am I supposed to be doing that" way. Being a veteran he should have immediately spotted that and pointed it out.
      Experience tends to make people forget to instruct basics? Related; kinda like when I was trying to make an egg custard and ended up with a sweet egg concoction because nowhere in the instructions does it tell you that you're supposed to put the ramekin in a vessel of water in the oven like, they thought that you SHOULD know that, making custards.

    I feel that locking wheels in a stop position is no good. Skateboarding needs momentum for tricks. You can put your wheels in a crack to be stopped but when you can you are able to roll slightly to help out with the trick. With skate stoppers you just stop and the momentum you picked up while doing the trick makes it tougher to land right back on the board. They offer a false sense of skateboarding. But that is just my 2 cents. Sure they may "help" some but can also hold them back too.

    • @Zondu
      @Zondu 7 лет назад +6

      I think this would be a good "addition" to the beginning phase where you're just riding around all the time, as well as properly incorporating movement after you can land the trick pretty steadily with the trainers. They're a tool, not a crutch.

    • @p00ktube
      @p00ktube 7 лет назад +9

      At the least they are portable skate stoppers. If you want to go in somewhere that won't let you in with a skateboard, you could pull these out and put them on your wheels and tell them that the board can't be skated.

    • @rageagainstthetoymachine2410
      @rageagainstthetoymachine2410 7 лет назад +3

      also I feel like it's a bad idea to jump straight into any tricks before just getting comfortable riding a board, I understand they don't have a week or 2 to film him pushing around every day but if you're not even comfortable standing on a board how can one expect to learn any tricks while even standing still but *especially* moving.

    I'm thirteen and before, I watched your vids like 4 years ago and I wanted to learn how to skate board. I was impatient and think i was trying to do an Ollie right away instead of getting confident. Im gonna try again. This time im gonna take it slower and learn little tricks and gain confidence on the board. My friends asked before if we should learn. I think doing it with other beginners can help gain that confidence. I also really like that energy and think i will use that with my friends and any skater i meet. Your always positive and even learning just a little thing you are so positive and cheer people up. Thanks for getting me back into skate boarding. I really want to learn and i think you can do anything u put the time and effort into. My dad said when i was learning to bunny hop a bike "everyone wants to be cool but, no one wants to put in the effort" I think this also means that if you put in the effort you can learn anything. Again thanks for giving me confidence and positive energy to start skateboarding again. See you when i can ollie 😂

      @Drhumbolt 6 лет назад +8

      outdoor boys yeah that stiffness can get you a broken wrist quick. But yeah I'm kinda with you but to me the most important thing also would be having confidence in what you are doing, makes it more fun too

      he doesnt need an athletic body, he just needs to ride a lot and gain more confidence on the board.

      Never be afraid to fall on a skateboard. If you are wear a helmet, pads, etc. and just take the heat

    I would love to skateboard. I wouldn't even know where to start. Where I live there isn't even a skate shop, because they're trying to cut down on skaters lol! Also I'm from the UK. Not that many skaters around that much anymore. So I really wanna do it so people can get out there on there boards again

      You can order a board of brailles website and just watch there videos that are made for beginners.

      order a complete from CSS skateboards. or build your own to make it fully custom and they way you want it. you'll need a deck, trucks, (riser pads maybe) bearings, wheels, hardware, and grip tape if it isnt already included on your deck.

    I felt a confidence boost just watching this kid go so quickly from trainers to riding like that. I can't wait until I get my first board which will likely be a long board since i'm not looking to do tricks but just to cruise around town...
