You’re in my Mérida!! 😱😍 The thick walls of the colonial houses aren’t made out of concrete, but mampostería, the local traditional stone and mortar. You can see it in unfinished wall like outside along the pool, and many old buildings across the city. The finishing - especially in waterproof walls and floors, shower, pools - is often the traditional chukum, kind of a stucco that’s been used since the maya have moved to the area. There’s so much history in Mexico, down to its walls and tiles! 🤔🤗😍 🇲🇽
It’s great to see the two of you front load your lives rather than wait until you’re too old and beat up to do anything. The opportunity to do that hasn’t always been there. Good for you for making the most of it.
I would never make fun of you guys for dreaming! It's what I love about you the most! Keep it up and keep us in the loop! I'm addicted to your channel 💜💜💜
Personally, I like all the variety y'all offer on your channel! I never know what is next. Will they show up in a foreign country enlightening me on the local food and sights? Will they be traveling in their RV? Will they be renovating another RV? I am envious of your lives. You always bring something different to the table. Keep on doing that! BTW, that place looks incredible.
Awesome! Nothing wrong with dreaming and having different visions for your life. Do the Airbnb. Rebuild a pull behind. Build your dream house. Climb that mountain. You are Young... So enjoy your youth, for one day you will be old and tired and will mostly look back on your memories. God bless and enjoy the journey! PS-just don't drink too much please! ❤️
Wow! So cool to see what an unassuming place from the outside looks like on the inside 🤩 love all the pops of colour throughout and that pool looks so inviting!
Roof access is super common in Mexico. My grandmother had one and I remember visiting in summer and being amazed up there. They used to laundry up there and hang it. A lot of times water tanks are kept up there too. It’s a great use of space especially since roofs are flat in Mexico. Enjoy Merida! Hope you explore more of central Mexico! I recommend Guanajuato. ❤️🇲🇽
I always have enjoyed your travel Adventures and collaborations with the delightful Travelers, travel beans, travelling clatt n I feel like you have met up with Dane & Stacey a long time ago and ik flying the nest & kingin it when u were down that way yrs ago
I was trying to think to myself I know that you were with the way away also when you were down there but I was trying to think if you ever have met up with Kara and Nate
We've met up with so many awesome people over the years!! We did get to meet up with Kara and Nate about 4 years ago in Estonia. Hopefully we'll get to cross paths again with them now that we're all out on the road 🚐🤞
Hey guys really enjoying your Mexico vlogs. Do you feel that Casa Picasso is in central enough location to use as a base for travel to ruins/sites in Yucatan? Thanks!
Love your channel been watching you restore clementine and watching it captioned which you have been doing a great job and it sure helps with other deaf and hard of hearing viewers. And this episode is not captioned, if for some reason it didn’t work we understand 😊. Big 👍
Delightful Travellers and you guys back together again, what a hoot that is going to be. I really enjoy watching you all. Any yes, through these tough times, all the videos have kept the joy of travel alive. Villa has a bit of Bali vibe about it. Stay safe and enjoy.
Love the vibe going on. The pool temperature on the other hand had that same issue when my wife and I went down to Miami we stated in a house amd the pool was so cold but we couldn't resist going in which we did but dang was cold was laughing since I remember what it felt like as well.
Those darn slippy bananas 🍌 That place is incredible, I love the effort they've put in with design and decor...the artwork, wow! And it so matches your colouring Alison, with love from the cold grey rainy UK 💙
Oooh that looks like fun, you know you are actually supposed to go "horizontal" in hammocks, the opposite way you think of - I didn't know until we went to buy one and the guy demonstrated it! Such a beautiful location!
@@Theendlessadventure we bought a hammock in Merida and used it to camp in fancy hotel gardens throughout the peninsula. Very cheap and with use of the pool and pool house with bathroom! Indeed you sleep in it diagonally giving you a horizontal position. I even had one family size in my home for a while and we slept in it together.
What an amazing place! I love seeing you guys back in Mexico again. This reminds me a little of the villa tour vlog you guys did in Mexico with The Way Away and The Traveling Klatt a few years ago! You guys haven't aged at all! Looking forward to seeing you guys with the Delightful Travelers! I subscribed to them after watching your Greece vlogs with them years ago too! 👍
That staircase is positively dangerous with no handrail, so is that balcony, the balustrade is far too low and should have vertical rails not horizontal and no balustrade on the roof at all. Obviously no building regulations there for rental and Air BnB properties. I like the decoration though, that plunge pool is great for the instant wake up in the mornings.
What a beautiful, little shotgun villa! They've done such a nice job with the furnishings and decor. How fun would it be to find a few Merida tiles to use as coasters in Clementine? Dollar stores have adhesive cork you could add to the backs. The row of colorful buildings, and the random rooftop access, remind me of Puerto Rico; and the Picasso Casa courtyard reminds me of your BnB in Bali. Nice digs 👌
We bought 40 acres of land in Vermont last year and will live on our RV on the land while we build the house. If you want to chat about buying land, let us know!
That sounds like a dream! Hopefully we'll get to that point in the not too distant future and can take you up on that offer. Best of luck with the build!!
What a beautiful place! I love Merida tiles, they're my fave. Funny you mentioned the Delightful Travellers, I couldn't remember how I found them - it must have been when you connected with them in the past. I'm so glad you're all traveling again! (I'm leaving tomorrow for my own 6-month post-retirement trip around the world!)
Keep dreaming!! So many of us live thru and your dreams. You have a life style many would love to have but because of life choices, can do it. So you two just keep dreaming and thank you for taking us a long!!!!!
This is is such a beautiful casa! So much to explore just within the house-I do love those tiles!! Would love to stay there and have some frozen drinks by that pool!
Maybe the water is so cold because it's surrounded by greenery and concrete? It looks like the sun doesn't shine onto the water fully. Either way, that place is amazing! Merida is a beautiful city and the food is right up, or down, my alley!
Gorgeous villa, and those tiles 😍!!! It reminds me of some unassuming little Victorian cottages here in Melbourne. They've been renovated to open up to a much larger space, but you wouldn't know it looking at them from the street! That pool looks so inviting I just want to be there right now with cocktails! 🍹🍸
Always love your videos! So entertaining and informative. Would love to go there next year & was wondering who you booked the property with? Thanks so much & keep living your best life! ❤️
You two are a hoot to watch, but truth be told... we really liked the RV reno. Get that Argosy going and we'll stay subscribed. 😂😉 Keep up the fun content. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

Oh thanks for the info! So chukum is what we tell a contractor when/if we design a custom shower. It's so pretty! 😍
What????? Buleeeeeted.
Hola Sophie. También la mia. Amo tanto a Mérida!

I swear Eric & Allison you guys are the only one keeping me alive during this challenging difficult and tough time🥺🥺I love you 2!💯⭐️🤩❤️❤️❤️
Hey man, you should reach out and talk to somebody if you feel that way. Feel free to message me if you need.

Absolutely. Get the Airstream.
SO delightful you'll be spending time in the DR with The D. Travellers! I'm looking forward to endless fun with the four of you!
So happy that you’ll meet up with Anna and Trevor in the DR! Can’t wait to see what you four get up to!
We can't wait to start sharing the videos! It's been a blast so far 🙌
Oh wow! 😮 I never would've thought looking at the front 3:35 would reveal such an awesome place! Safe travels y'all! 🙌
Since you love Mexico (and Merida) buy a few tiles to hang as art in Clementine as well as a fun reminder of your trips!

Today was one of those days for me, as in ugh. This video was a day brightener. You guys are great. Keep on keepin’ on!
Love the snow at home.

Welcome to Mexico, hope you guys enjoy our country and the beautiful weather

I saw that house on an architectural page ! Fell in love with it
I have been traveling for many months in Mexico… paying 125$ per night is way more than most budgets can handle.

Definitely Bali-esque! We're so excited to be back with those two! It's been a blast so far 🤗
Fantastic video. That house is incredible.
Wow that pool is awesome, such a cozy backyard.
You just be you!! We love you regardless!
Beautiful!!! Def need to go there! Such a dream
You're definitely not crazy. Keep doing all the things that make you happy. And please keep filming and sharing🙂

Mereeeda!
Today’s my birthday, and I am one of the ones stuck in that frozen weather. I will just pretend I am there in that paradise villa.
Those darn slippy bananas 🍌 That place is incredible, I love the effort they've put in with design and decor...the artwork, wow! And it so matches your colouring Alison, with love from the cold grey rainy UK 💙
We totally loved this house! Hope the sun warmed you up a little in the UK ☀️

Well if you were vertical you would just be standing 😆😆😆👍
@@allan4054 haha! Indeed lol 😂
We did not know that! How funny...we'll definitely be trying horizontal next time! 🤣

Awesome place to stay, thank you so sharing!! We also liked the backsplash/tile, it is so colorful!

5:19 There was a piece of furniture exactly like that (minus the colored wood) in my grandmother's (b. 1923) house. Mid-century modern style baby!
Omg… I was going to suggest you meet up with Trevor and Anna … I love them …you guys will have so much fun with them..
What a fabulous home! Looking forward to your adventures with @DelightfulTravellers. Great video guys! ~Cara 😊

Your mini mansion looks 👌 😍 awesome 👌.

Yes sir! Smirnoff all the way & all day!
Eric nailed that pronunciation for empanizado
Love y’all!
you should go for an suv and that airstream! then you can park the airstream and explore in the suv
Wow! ! Loved the house and space! !
