I have had my S 90 ES for 2 years and love it! I have been, looking at the Kawai mp7SE but after watching this I am going to hang on to this one!! Thank you for sharing!
Actually I'm impressed because all brands stopped on time in termos of sound quality. Older gears sound as good or even better than current gears. This piano sounds better than what we have in montage for example.
Thanks. I used to have the Montage but I sold it. Yamaha is putting lots of reverb on new keyboards and you right all brands stopped on time in terms of sound quality. I do like the Montage M8x. I recently bought the Yamaha DGX 670 for songwriting it is great in my opinion.
Never thought that some Yamaha keyboards are better than Kurzweil keyboards , I bought it few month ego and its wonderful for everything, unbelievable that it has everything for Live and Midi Remote also ❤️ + key beds are Amazingly realistic, I have tried every midi keyboard in the past all went to the Garbage
I always wanted to try Kurzweil keyboards. In fact there is one that it got my attention, the Kurzweil PC4 SE. The only thing is that I hear just a handful of good sounds and the rest it does not meet my expectations. I can't find Kurzweil keyboards at the music stores which is another reason why I never had the chance to test the sounds and key bed.
Omgosh Yes. Strings is, if not the first sound, the second one I always checked after the piano sounds. The background string sound, Ens Mix, StereoSt sound and the list goes on. Amazing, thank you so much for bringing that up.
Clearly one of the best instruments ever produced in terms of sounds. Its weakness has always been the size and weight. So I find it more suitable for studio recording than for live gigs.
You are so right, in terms of sounds I am still finding Syn Pad/Choir sounds that blow me away. I went once to play live with it and another musician saw me struggling trying to carry this beast to a second floor without elevator. He was like: Are you serious, you are going to break your back. So yes, this is more for the studio.
There’s a guy his video is called Red piano Brazil, Yamaha es vs Nord stage 3 The Royal grand. sample if you look it up is Yamaha natural sixIf you look at Nord ,website the royal grand that’s the natural s 6 from Yamaha
I love mine so much I got a spare that I keep set up for home use. I play it in a Steely Dan tribute and have tweaked it to give me all the splits and layers I need (ruclips.net/video/fSVBX42CM-Y/видео.htmlsi=Nf_027cn2s3mit9S). On an amp or PA, the sound is really clean and clear. I used to play Jump on it - the bottom and presence of that sound is enormously satisfying. I've used the sequencer, but if you're into that sort of thing, there's instruments that do the job better. if you want to play everything yourself on nice weighted keys, the S90ES is worth checking.
These piano sounds are still very solid, in fact Halion Sonic SE has the Yamaha S90 piano in the SE Artist library grant in Halion Sonic SE it sounds thinner. Does the Yamaha S90ES also have other types of sounds like saxophones, if so I'm curious to hear what the saxophones are like on this keyboard. I remember being impressed at this keyboard which is part of the Yamaha Motif range not realizing at the time the S90ES is a niche product.
Thanks so much for commenting. The S90ES has A. Pianos, Organ, bass strings, brass, Reed/Pipe and so on. The saxophones are wonderful in my opinion. Also, the Oboe sound is one of my favorite, sweet and beautiful. The strings are super, and yes Halion SE has the S90Es piano sound. I will say this, I have been working in Cubase which is my DAW of preference. This week out of curiosity I decided to download, ProTools Intro and I will say: I have never heard my Yamaha S90ES sounding the way it sounds in any of the DAW's I previously worked on, like I now hear in Pro Tools. Amazing sound details. I'm strongly considering to switch even though the learning curve is not a joke but it is worth to try.
Since I do not have the S90xs I can not honestly answer your question, but I will say this: In Cubase within the piano sounds in Halion Sonic, they feature the Yamaha S90ES, And I think the patch is there because the great quality of this particular piano sound.
Very classic keyboard. DX sound is still good. However, compared with the current new synthesizers, the piano sounds obviously thinner and less infectious.
Thanks for asking. I like them. You know what I noticed, every time a new Keyboard comes into the market they always go back to the good old Electric Piano sounds of the old keyboards. Remember the Korg Triton electric pianos, Ensoniq SQ1, Yamaha DX-7, Roland JV-90 those keyboards were special. I regret getting rid of them.😥
@@benjaminacargen7799 That is total different segment. Much cheaper than S90es. Yamaha never used the best samples in those kind of instruments. Only Motif/montage series. And S90ES is basically a Motif ES with the additional large S700 sample
@@benjaminacargen7799 r u stupid or what the s700 is a sought after piano sample and the best piano sample ever put on a digital piano. C'mon man get rid of the wax in ur ears
Still impressed with my Yamaha S90ES after all of these years. It's definitely one for the record book as being epic.
The best stage piano ever
???
My best Yamaha kybd ever

I still have mine. I simply can’t find another keyboard to fully replace it. It’s not just the pianos, but the strings are amazing.

Wow I didn't know Nord uses piano sounds in there samples.🙏 Thanks so much for passing by.

U r more than welcome my friend peace
The piano used for the Yamaha s90es is a S700 piano
Will never get rid of mine, I’ve just bought the s90xs as a back up, but the strings aren’t quiet as good out the box, will try some editing.
I think I may get the Yamaha DGX 670, it is a great keyboard, a hidden gem if you can ask me.
@@expositiontvjm oh ok, I,ve never tried it tbh, but if it sounds and plays as well as the es then fantastic, you must let us know how it compares ok

how come the P125 or P515 doesn't have such sound?
huh? the P125 and P1515 are far more excellent than the S90es since they are newer than the latter.
