One thing that worries me seeing so many people getting into this is glass dust. Long term exposure causes fibrosis. I'd suggest wearing a kn95 or a respirator if you plan on doing this long term.
Wow, I bet a dremel tool with a grinding wheel or rubber abrasive wheel would work. I already have and use these in my jewelry making. I may never use my grinder again.
