Discovered this song on a Berlin-Prague train trip. A cloudy winter day outside, old snow fallen on the ground, the train moving smoothly through the landscape... just imagine how this song fits with this scene.
I imagine this being the song I ride around the afterlife listening to in a car with no payments, a fresh pack of clove cigs and reeking of patchouli… my vibes forever.
For repeat listening I'd much rather the studio. These live versions are definitely a gift and make you appreciate their other music more, but they can't quite nail the sound of the original
I first heard this song in a car leaving the roskilde festival with some random girls, I got drunk and they threw me out at a train station in the middle of nowhere. Met some of the ladies years later and they remembered me causing havoc, I remembered this epic song. Good ride.
Whereas Courtney needs a trim. Looks much better with short hair. Would still look uncomfortable - he has an uncomfortable face. But they are kool as fk.
It's a very nice song but I don't know what exactly this song is about .What is its relationship with prophet mohammad? Also, there were azan sounds at the beginning of the song in the studio recording, a very interesting song
Because of the lyrics and the life of prophet Mohammed (sav). At least thats my thought. When you listen to the original version of this song's intro, you'll realise the sound of "adhan" is play's at back of it. Maybe this is wrong for Islam idk I am not an expert for this
@@rasigead. ur english is fine. Was that really the adhan though? Did sound a bit like it. I think did hear Allahu Akbar in it. And it surely is wrong to do this to the adhan! But for them obviously not a big deal.
@@aunthaumv3711 they may have followed two different paths while composing this song: First, they may have written the lyrics first. the second one determined the name of the song and then wrote the lyrics. In both ways, they used music and values that are important to Muslims for their own music. And like you said, they don't care that much. They just make music, I guess they don't care about anything else. As a Muslim, it is not my place to say anything about how true it is, but while listening to the music, I only listened to the music part and frankly, I did not notice it at the first place. If anyone here were an expert on the topic, I think they would have said it was wrong, like you. And yes I think that was the adhan. Have a nice life
I'm a Muslim and i can tell you for sure: Mohammed (PBUH) would love this song ❤❤

Majestic!
Surreal

Beautiful bellísimo
I've made that same trip 20 years ago now. Beautiful and inspiring, not to say if additionally this is the soundtrack.

Hi
I'm 62 and the Dandys do indeed rule!!
OK!
Im 47 and listen Dandys from 1995, by song Ride :))
59 and right there in 2020, hope you're still on this side of the grass you old bastard, lol
61 and I concur.
I am 65 and female, “twin set and pearls” and believe they are magnificent.
This album has 12 top class songs, and one from a mobile phone advert
Muhammad (PBUH) also enjoyed music. 🤲🏽
This should have 1,000,000,000 views.
I'm SO GLAD I've come across them. By a single mention in a book, funny
Sometimes those single references, and the whim to check it out, are life-changing.
This song is a Pete showcase, and he's fantastic with it.
i know it is kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?
Went back to this after a couple of years. They were always good but this is so cool its ridiculous (Sound and vision). So much love for this band.
no exaggeration. this is better than that studio one.
I prefer their live performances to studio. Truly talented.
For repeat listening I'd much rather the studio. These live versions are definitely a gift and make you appreciate their other music more, but they can't quite nail the sound of the original
It Is
The can release an Acoustic Album of their songs and it will still be great
Hace más de veinte años que de vez en cuando me asomo a esta puta canción y todavía se me ponen los pelos de punta.... Bruuuuuuutal
Beautiful song, makes me feel 20 years old again
One of my Top-10 songs of Dandy Warhols "Mohammed"
I first heard this song in a car leaving the roskilde festival with some random girls, I got drunk and they threw me out at a train station in the middle of nowhere. Met some of the ladies years later and they remembered me causing havoc, I remembered this epic song. Good ride.
I love the song as a whole but the instrumental section towards the end is amazing
Pete never shave again, you look wonderful.
Whereas Courtney needs a trim. Looks much better with short hair. Would still look uncomfortable - he has an uncomfortable face. But they are kool as fk.
@Dive-the-w Courteney looks like he had dermabrasion, either chemical or laser. It's definitely not a sunburn!
Best hippie band in the world.
Absolute kick arse psychedelic track. This band just keeps getting better.
Best band from the USA ever ,luv Steve UK
I cant get enough of this. THIS VERSION...i love it sooooooo much.

Amazing band. I like all your songs. Greetings from Perú!
Beautiful song, emotional, understated, sooo freaking coooooool!
Just what is not to like about this. Still stuns me.
This is amazing Felix. It was great to see you playing so well. Excellent!
Just amazing!
Lucky to see them on the anniversary tour.
Finally, a good band on KEXP.
Haha what? There are enough good bands on KEXP!
This is one of their most haunting songs. CT-T's eyes tho' ! (And wearing BJTM shirt - love that.)
I wore a Brian Jonestown Massacre shirt to see a Dandy Warhols show last night! Danforth Music Hall, Toronto. I must have seen them 10x by now.
if soundcloud dj's discover this song, probably it'll get 54545498549 views. this version is way too stunning...

Then the trumpet🤗
Greta song!
Sublime!
still amazin'.
so sad nicki minaj is getting more views than this masterpiece. what age are we living in!
I agree. Sad.
Vinayak Krishnan totally agree
Music is destroyed. Except some waves os resistance
Anton where are you now? No really we need you! (BJM for the uninitionated)
+Mike Norledge Where would he be? At this gig? No. ;) The Dandys are doing just fine without him here..
Megaaaaa 🖤🖤🖤
Holy shit Courtney looks like the frontman of grand funk railroad
This is where they peaked
Is the guy with beard on guitar the guy who used to be blonde?? (I forgot his name)
pete. yeah he used to blonde.
a long time ago, he used to be blonde
Then he lost his looks and grew a beard.
Probably for the best - he was starting to look like knackered old drag queen when he wore his stage makeup
@@santiagorodriguez7062 very funny, such a great rhythm,
Grev A His current look (at least in the video) suits him pretty well in my opinion. He pulls off a beard
Portlandia and the Dandies: Chicken and egg? Art immitating life?
Is he singing into an sm57? Rad.
It's a very nice song but I don't know what exactly this song is about .What is its relationship with prophet mohammad? Also, there were azan sounds at the beginning of the song in the studio recording, a very interesting song
What's Courtney's T-shirt?
what are the words they're singing between the verses, toward the middle of the song?
Just sounds, then he says "i wonder today"
They are just like me but way i mean way more talented.
Fuck yeah
Hi, how hi are you?
Only 100, 000 views?
J'adore mais sans la trompette , ça ne va pas 😔
What does Courtney's shirt say?
The brian jonestown manager
That would be Mark Farner and yes I thought the same thing
totally
i want to know what this song is about, i can't see the relationship between the lyrics and the title!!
a borderline line near ascetismo;)
When Mohammad was in the cave he was doubting himself that he was evil and was being tempted by demons.
The good old days
enyone else here 24/3/2020
Why is it called Mohammed? Anyone?

Wow they look dif but still very awesome musicians.
Çok güzel
I like to think their t-shirts are a piss-take of BJM as act of love
Does Courtney looks a little bit like Axl or is it just me?
Maybe zia looks like axl lol
Amadeus rock me
They look so happy , all the drugs and hard living must of really paid dividends.
Great song though, I'm lost in the mystery..
7
Great but BJM are still better!
Anton Newcomb is a busy bee ☺️
Stoned as FUCK
Getting a stronger boys would be better
This is a dirge. What were the Dandys mourning in July, 2013?
Great song, but they always sounded better with Eric Hedford. His drums and vocals are missed.
Comments waste appreciation
Melody is stolen of this: ruclips.net/video/Vk0HFWxtGwM/видео.html
Sound like a Brian Jonestown rip off
Lol
Vocals suck, but great instrumentals and lyrics
They each seem to have bought into the theory that a true artist must be physically repugnant.
I'll assume this is your first video. In general, the bands are average. In specific - Don't Talk To The Cops! - utter shit.
