If he's a 9 year old in 8th grade, I might as well have graduated from college and medical school with a GPA of 4, and be a fully-fledged neurosurgeon by age 20.
He covered the mistakes in flight of the bumblebee with the electric and speed I would say the piece is absolutely covered with mistakes, all you piano players should realize
+thebenna beast I don't mean to offend you but you clearly know nothing about piano. And you clearly wanna show off by saying I can play la Campanella since there was no point of putting that in the context in the first place. The difficulty of a piece is not defined by how technical it is, but rather how you approach the piece and bring it out. Missing one or two notes is fine as long as it's not like this guy. Calling flight of the bumblebee easy is also just disrespectful. Just because you can play it doesn't mean you can play it well.
+thebenna beast if you call any piece beyond grade 4 easy, you are not good. I think with my previous comment I explained well. A pieces difficulty is not defined from its technical skills. It's rather defined by how the pianist finds the art inside it. You cannot call a piece easy or hard. Even if you can play la Campanella, it doesn't mean you are good. Most pieces can be playable with time. But bringing out the art that resides, is what good pianist does rather than showing off his technical skills. That is probably why Chopin was more popular than Liszt.
channing chu I agree with you. To bring out a pieces emotion like the great chopin heroic or polonaise or something like moonlight sonata is more difficult than playing a liszt etude like a robot. The only thing is I believe that technical difficulty and artistic difficulty are in two completely different categories. So instead of saying moonlight sonatas artistic challenge is harder than mazeppas technical challenge, you would say moonlight sonata's artistic challenge is harder than mazeppas, but mazeppa's technical challenge is more difficult than moonlight sonatas. Both are right. As far as me saying flight of the bumblebee is easy I am speaking as of technical. I've practiced many pieces like mazeppa. or wild jagdt, that are much more difficult than flight of the bumblebee. Also I think the emotion in flight of the bumblebee is not very difficult to achieve. I believe there are pieces that are infinitely artistically challenging than flight off the bumblebee. For example when I play La Campanella I try my best to accent the piece perfectly and make sure that it sounds like a little bell constantly hitting the d sharp up top. I think flight of the bumblebee is so fast that the emotion comes natural. You may disagree with me but I respect your opinion
+seven2 infinity Well, yeah, I guess so. While I have fairly good grades and last year I got 2nd place in my school geography bee, I'm not a child genius like he is.
Just impressive! He has talent. He's entertaining. He has wit. He has humor. He's smart. If you are not at par with his intelligence, of course you will feel inferior; too bad for you.
All kids should be involved in extracurricular activities like this! Not be stuck in front of a damn computer or TV all day long after they get home from school. People, put your kids in a musical program!
No, because life's not about being forced to do stuff for the sake of doing it. It's about having fun and making the most of what you're given. I'd rather focus on other stuff than being as obnoxious as people like this kid.
+Benn Leyland: obnoxious? I will say he has confidence with himself and he likes to pass it to others. Don't forget Benn the prodigies have their own world, difficult to understand, and not for judgement
Islam Twofaces I feel as though he pushes a kind of boastful confidence though. The way he says, "well that's what reality says, yes" (or words to that effect) it seems like he's just patronizing the woman. Maybe I'm looking into it too much. Each to their own really.
yourguardianangel Pianos are a keyboard instrument just like harpsichord, celeste, organ, accordion, etc. Keyboards are All of the keyboard instruments plus more instruments/sounds usually, combined in 1 electrical keyboard for simplicity and less cost obviously. So yes he is playing a piano setting on an electrical keyboard but he isn't playing an acoustic piano he's playing an electronic piano so you could still say he's playing a piano.
Daniel Ordonez Flight of the Bumblebee is a very classic music to play for a pianist to show that u have skill to a random crowd. Because #1: even if u dont know the title, it's very famous for being used in alot of action, speed, and chase scene stuff in movies and cartoons like looney toons, so most people have heard of it. #2: It's a really hard and face paced Piano solo, even if u are not a music expert, u can tell the person is talented if they pull it off, especially since it'll sound very off key if u misplay it to boot. This is not the first time I've seen a child Prodigy play this piece in a Got Talent show.
He sounds like he could be a really good pianist, but with all the electric effects in flight of the bumblebee, it seemed like there could be many, unheard mistakes due to the overbearing electric noises. Then when he played the Chopin piece, it slightly irked me the way he played it. The piece is meant to be played quickly, for the most part, with a few slower accents (but not in the places he put them).
Guacamolord That piece, tbh, irked me a little more than the Flight of the Bumblebee, honestly, because of how he accented it. Yeah it's supposed to have accents, but the way he did it makes the piece sound a little less, spectacular, maybe? I don't know what it is, but is sounds less impressive with where he put the accents.
He isn’t smart simply because has the patience to practice those songs which are relatively easy. I’m fact he played simplified versions of Flight Of The Bumblebee and Grande Valse Brilliante. But I could play Turkish March when I was 10. Does that mean I was smarter than most high schoolers in America? What an absurd claim to make. I wasn’t smarter than most high schoolers at age ten but I know I was definitely smarter than you.
when he played flight of le bee I was "okay... ", and when I heard the beginning of the second sound I thought he was a real Prodigy, I thought he was going to play Grand galop chromatique

God bless Adrian Romoff.
While this kid has exemplary talent, I know many people who would actually hate him for "disrespecting classical music through sacrilegious ways."
love when kids have an eccentric personality lmao
OMG that was awesome mixed with brilliant and that Makes awesliant
He is so funny and so weird (I mean weird in a good way)
Wow what a talent and personality...genius...age of 20 he will in nasa

LOL the judges always have drinks in front of them but I never see anyone take a sip. :)
Well... there goes my self-esteem.
I used to think I was smart, and I used to think I was good at piano till I saw this kid. Now I'm feeling a bit low.....
+Deirdre Talley it's ok if he's better at piano than you....... he probably smarter than you too
+seven2 infinity Well, yeah, I guess so. While I have fairly good grades and last year I got 2nd place in my school geography bee, I'm not a child genius like he is.
Deirdre Talley second isnt good enough...

According to reality this kids a savage
He plays like in guitar hero when you put the difficulty too high and misses a bunch of notes
Just impressive! He has talent. He's entertaining. He has wit. He has humor. He's smart. If you are not at par with his intelligence, of course you will feel inferior; too bad for you.
this kid is awesome!!!
What Symphony did he play?
There was no symphonies. A symphony is played with an orchestra, in which a piano is not included.
Did you know that he is on the show child/kid genius?!
jesus christ i LOVE this kid
All kids should be involved in extracurricular activities like this! Not be stuck in front of a damn computer or TV all day long after they get home from school. People, put your kids in a musical program!

+zucchini2007 Plz just stfu no one really cares. If u want people to join give them something free
Islam Twofaces I feel as though he pushes a kind of boastful confidence though. The way he says, "well that's what reality says, yes" (or words to that effect) it seems like he's just patronizing the woman. Maybe I'm looking into it too much. Each to their own really.
I AGREE, HE SAID IT WITH SINCERE HONESTY. NOT WITH INTENTION TO BRAG ABOUT HIS SITUATION. I WISH HIM SUCCESS IN HIS LONG JOURNEY
what was the song in the beginning of the video when he was talking
James Morris Flight of the Bumblebee
No I mean in the very beginning of the video.
Thanks. I have been looking for this song forever.
+Luka Puka ~ its a lively piece of music!
Is it connected in some way with the opera carmen? or have i just always mixed it up with something else?
That's exactly where it came from, actually.
I'm disturbed by his philosophy: "We need more emotion"
If this can play "Rhapsody in Blue" I will faint.
Yes!!
thats not a piano thats a fucking keyboard
+yourguardianangel Piano's are keyboards.
Stephen Owesney ..........how
they are similar but not the same
yourguardianangel Pianos are a keyboard instrument just like harpsichord, celeste, organ, accordion, etc.
Stephen Owesney hmmmm i guess but for instance considering the harpsichord is in the keyboard category i still wouldn't call it a keyboard
i heard he won the child genius season 2 that kid may do great things in the future when i see him ill get some popcorn to see what hes got
He will be in college next year omg
He's 12 now won lots of money on child genius (100k) and is on his way to college. He already went to prom

What's the name of the first song he played?
Flight of the Bumblebee
Thanks
Daniel Ordonez Flight of the Bumblebee is a very classic music to play for a pianist to show that u have skill to a random crowd. Because #1: even if u dont know the title, it's very famous for being used in alot of action, speed, and chase scene stuff in movies and cartoons like looney toons, so most people have heard of it. #2: It's a really hard and face paced Piano solo, even if u are not a music expert, u can tell the person is talented if they pull it off, especially since it'll sound very off key if u misplay it to boot. Whats the music on the beginning?
Habanera from Carmen
Almost 10 years later I wonder where he is now?
The next Kousei Arima
The first music was flight of the bumblebee
What is the name of the second song he played please comment
Grande Valse Briliante - Fredric Chopin :)
Thx
A talent right from the womb
Love him!!
He did child genius
i wonder how its like in college for him right now
Now let’s hear him play the Cziffra version.
Which is the name of the piano song? ❤️
flight of the bumblebee
And the second piece was "Waltz in Eb Major Op. 18" or "Grande Valse Brilliante" by Chopin.
IF YOU CAN PLAY IT SLOWLY YOU CAN PLAY IT QUICKLY- 9 year old edition
Even if you shouldn’t
When he started, i was ready to sing fuckin master of puppets my metallica
He sounds like he could be a really good pianist, but with all the electric effects in flight of the bumblebee, it seemed like there could be many, unheard mistakes due to the overbearing electric noises. Then when he played the Chopin piece, it slightly irked me the way he played it. The piece is meant to be played quickly, for the most part, with a few slower accents (but not in the places he put them).
Well, if you didn't watch all the way through, he plays another song that could be played on a normal piano.
I couldn't agree more. Flight of the bumblebee is easy. Wait until he tries a liszt etude like mazeppa
Guacamolord That piece, tbh, irked me a little more than the Flight of the Bumblebee, honestly, because of how he accented it. Yeah it's supposed to have accents, but the way he did it makes the piece sound a little less, spectacular, maybe? I don't know what it is, but is sounds less impressive with where he put the accents.
wtf!!!!!! this kid is lit!!!!! better than all the piano players in the world!
this guy talks like he knows everything
Its sad that he's 9cand smarter than most high schoolers, not so much as for him but all the teens in America :P
We should not forget that his extremely powerful intellect is harboured in the body and emotions of a child.
-
True.
Why did you reply to you're own comment
+Wayman ma he didn't reply to his own comment lmao, can't you see properly?
He isn’t smart simply because has the patience to practice those songs which are relatively easy. I’m fact he played simplified versions of Flight Of The Bumblebee and Grande Valse Brilliante. he's in child genius
when he played flight of le bee I was "okay... ", and when I heard the beginning of the second sound I thought he was a real Prodigy, I thought he was going to play Grand galop chromatique
