More John Stryker? I'm in, this guys stories are absolutely insane
Fake news
Иван Грозный -No, I’m pretty sure he’s in.
Mind blowing..funny and scary as hell his simple humility.
The absolute best
@@behindthen0thing watch your words fella. JSM is a national treasure
As a Marine grunt from Iraq in 2003, listening to Willink geek out on a Vietnam vet reminds me of how we listen to his stories as a SEAL.
Nicholas USMC remember watching you guys getting some on the news when I was younger. Graduated high school, joint the Marines and did two pumps myself. Semper
Well well well... look who I found commenting on RUclips... “LAZE THEM!”

I was there in 2003-2004 WVARNG
My father in law, Stanley Skowron was a Green Beret over there. He was a Polish immigrant that spoke 5 languages and was one great American!
I’m sure his language skills made him a hot commodity in Special Forces! I was amazed to learn that all Green Berets spend one third of all their training doing foreign language work. Cheers to Stanley!
Skowron it's hoopoe lark bird. It's my surname to.
Get Jocko to do the narration of the audio books.
Wish I could upvote this 1,000,000 times

Absolutely!!!!
I've been thinking the same thing since discovering this podcast
That's one of the best ideas I've heard in awhile. Serious. Good stuff in that noggin of yours
Tilt is a good friend of my father. I just discovered this video. I had no idea how amazing this person is. I just remember answering the phone when I was a little kid and hearing him say this is “Tilt” where is the “Wolfman” That was my father’s nickname. My father has dementia now. I wish I was smart enough to ask more questions. So grateful I came across this amazing video!!!
Was you father in macv sog as well
If Tilt is referring to him by his nickname/callsign I can only assume he was SOG or SOG adjacent@@blakeandrews3673
Thanks for the comment bro. Love lil things like these
This guy has been through more intense situations than most people who have ever lived and he still has this indestructible positive attitude.
I think if we survived what he survived, we would all have an indestructible posiitive attitude.
@@scrubber1986 some dont.
Indestructible positively wicked laugh
Holy shit another one? Amazing. Could listen to Mr Meyer talk forever. He has a great laugh too lol
the laugh
Right?!
For some reason when Myer laughs I'm reminded of Bill Burr 🤣
He definitely has a low key great laugh that is common among people who have come out of hardship stronger. Reminds me of my grandmother who raised her 9 younger siblings and lived through the great depression and world War 2.
Love the laugh. It’s very mischievous 🤣
It’s an absolute honor to have access to this amount of historical information, especially from such incredible men as “Tilt” and Jocko. In my opinion many more folks should definitely be aware of this, also huge shoutout to Echo for the great edits an for being such a cool down to earth dude. Everyone who contributes to make this podcast and the episodes has my greatest gratitude, much respect and many thanks to everyone involved.
GloomyGuns I won't say anything about the gulf of Tonkin incident, but if you think 9-11 was a lie you're a fucking idiot. I watched that shit happen with my own 2 eyes.
VinnyVincenzo Yo “historical information” is spot on....obviously this is amazing to have access to but I’m even happier that his words are immortalized in that future generations can listen as well. It’s probably not standard but you know there is or will be history teachers out there including this as material for students.
It’s quite the honor to be able to listen to.
K.. soo. I'm picky, but yep it adds to laziness. HUGE ROLODEX.

Stryker Meyer: Hold my beer.
Dick Thompson: did someone say 'beer'?
My father, Hal Wilson, was on two RT teams but spent the majority of his time on RT New York. I believe from 1968-1970. I truly appreciate listening to these MACV SOG stories to learn what exactly my father went through.
My uncle Corporal byrd was on RT New York ask your dad about him plz??? Hes since passed away but id love to hear any stories your dad may have about my uncle. What a Crazy small world
@@BB-wm4ti yes very short dirty blonde hair and he was a radio man, also was a previous tunnle rat. Edit uncle not father
@@BB-wm4ti his dad was a corn farmer, for burbon whiskey in Arkansas, but he never was a farmer, except in his teens, he was scared he was gonna be drafted so joined himself. Omg I would love to talk to your dad. I'm disabled I have OI Google it. I wanted to join the boy scouts as a teen but they wouldnt let me so my uncle who was like a grandfather to me, taught me survival skills and taught me how to be a man. I miss him so much, he died in 2014 of blood clots due to the va canceling his health care due to him smoking weed for ptsd and chronic pain. He had two purple hearts, one when he fell in a punji trap while patrols on a search and destroy and one when he was hit with shrapnel from an artillery shell from the battle of that famous hill battle I forgot the name, he was assigned to 98th explosive ordinance disposal at that time pre sog. He also received a silver star for pulling a pilot out of a burning aircraft on a bright light mission in sog? I think that's what it was called when they went looking for downed pilots and POWs. He took a bullet to the ankle had 2nd degree burns on his arms which he had scars the rest of his life for pulling that Vietnamese pilot out of a heli, scars on his ass and legs for the punji trap. He also had a bronze star with Valor. He was such an amazing man. I miss him so much. Edit. My dad said he was also apart of RT tennessee.
@@BB-wm4ti yea man that would be awesome! Edit: sorry for the late reply getting back with you, been at my grandparents in the country with no signal. Edit 2. Forgot to reply to part of your post, my dad said my uncle had rlly good senses from when he was a tunnle rat before he joined sog, and my dad thinks that's prolly why he had such good senses because you had to rlly hone your senses in those tunnels, and that's what it was from prolly, but dad said he never knew that he was known for that, but doesn't surprise him at all cause he always had incredible senses when hunting animals, so doesnt surprise him at all that he also had great senses when hunting actual people, and hes confident his time as a tunnle rat had something to do with that if that was the case lol dad and me thank u so much, for chatting so far, we were wanting to learn more about his service and my dad said hearing about these things is making him rlly happy! My dad wants to ask your dad, what was his overall reputation and report with his fellow comrades, also as a SOG member did he perform as average or above average compared to other members across the fence? Also can u tell me a bit about your dads place on the team and the other members of NY, wed love to learn as much as we can about the rest of his comrades!
Damn what an awesome thread, small world
I wanna just hug this man and thank him for his service and I’m an Aussie. This guy has bigger balls and is as humble. I’m blown away. I have learned so much about the quality of life. I have watched 180,181,and now 182. A true legend of the force. Thankyou that’s all I have to say is Thankyou for this I wanna buy the book
I’ve listen to this podcast over 20 times can’t get enough, thank you for your heroic heroism,
HEROS, salute 🇺🇸
98 pounds soaking wet but 50 pounds of heart. Love that quote
read this as he said it and this podcast is hours long.💪🏻
Indeed. 🤙🏻
A Netflix series would be AWESOME!! A movie wouldn't cut it
Not on Netflix. At least not today's Netflix. Meyer and his gang aren't lesbian and trans enough.
Nah they would turn it into how the us failed Vietnam and praise China somehow
Netflix would definitely fuck it up.
A lot of us would love but Netflix would fuck it up and just be filled with more woke bullshit.
Why does everyone want everything on Netflix? That has become the most generic thing to say
Humble man. Best pod casts by far I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Ex Royal Marine.
Hi, civilian here.
*HOLY* *SHIT* this guy is the real rambo
I love this guy. So genuine, humble, and has lived the life of a 1,000 men. A true Rooster. 🐓
Respect. 🇺🇸
I can't express how much I have enjoyed TILT and his experiences. Pure award winning conversations. Thank you!
I was captivated listening to Tilts stories. I listened to 180, 181 & 182. 9 hours of on the edge stories. I don’t know how he is so normal after all that. What a man what a legend. The real deal Jason Bourne for sure. I will be supporting and buying his book. If only Jocko would narrate all the audio books. His voice draws you deep into the stories. I love this channel ❤️

Winner winner, apricot dinner. *BANG BANG BANG*
This has been the best series I’ve listened to. Please have him on more lol
i thought it was getting an old podcast notification... But alas, the podcast gods smiled upon us to give us one more time with Mr. Meyer. His books are some of my favorite of all military history so this has been something I've wanted to hear for years! Thank you Sirs!
AJ Gamble same. I saw this and then thought, wait a minute, wasn't he on 180 and 181? A third time?!? AWESOME 👍👍👍
This trilogy is glorious.
Ángel Gutiérrez trilogy?! Sickkkk
Three in a row... Too good to be true. Thank you, Jocko. It will be hard to beat this series.
These stories are absolutely to die for and i can't get enough of them. This guy could write 3 movies and have enough stories for 3 more. What an amazing soldier and fearless man.
Anyone else watch all 3 TILT podcasts back to back?
A third session with Mr. Meyer? Yes, please. Let's go for a full week.
For my fellow war enthusiasts, the Vietnam War remains the most fascinating, and this guest has been one of the very best!
You are 100 percent correct
Stryker and Roger Hayden on the podcast would be amazing.
🧖🏻♂️
Apart from everything else the quality of the swearing would be truly majestic! And I'm British - we know how to swear...

John's books, as well as Lynne Black's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot should be required reading
I wish my uncle was still around to hear John and tell his stories as well.

I love how tilt compares shooting himself to a bee sting 😂😂😂😂
This guy is a bloody legend!! great podcasts!!
I find these SOG missions so fascinating in the darkness of Laos... just can't get enough!
@8:00 I have a Purple Heart and my buddies called it "the enemy marksmanship badge" lol they gave me so much hell for it!!! But they always had my back :)
Tilt is awesome. All these SOG dudes are. These podcasts and stories are national treasures. I wish we had long form podcasts decades ago, where all those WW2 guys who were in the real shit could've laid things out like this when most were still around. Hell, I found a printed interview from one of the Color Sergeants from the Battle of Rorke's Drift ("Zulu") that was done in the 1930's. That was amazing to read, imagine to be able to hear it over several hours of just talking. These personal recollections are the real history, not some generalized watered-down garbage taught in public schools. This is a great thing.
Do you have a link to the Zulu interview?
Lets get Lynne Black AND John Stryker Meyer on together. ;)
Just watched SOGCAST 001 yesterday morning and had to come back and rewatch/listen to this one again. Thank You Tilt, you and your Brothers set THE STANDARD and left Footprints which those of us who followed can Never Fill. Drive On!
GET AFTER IT, been listening to the previous two podcasts during nite runs
Jocko and Echo, congratulations on an excellent series with Mr. Meyer. 182 really pulled the three podcasts together. If Mr Meyer returns for another, I would like to know if he ever felt like bait.
Just listened to across the fence, on audible In one sitting! Amazing narration TILT!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this podcast, half dozen times maybe ? It’s so captivating to listen to, kinda reassuring the confidence of these SOG guys.
To see the things this man has seen and to still be able to laugh like he does... nothing short of inspirational
1:55:23 Also laughs at Jocko when he hears how many grenades he'd carry.
Thank you again for having Mr. Stryker on. I am looking forward to hearing his friends.
One the best speakers you brought on here. Listened to the full podcast of John Stryker. Every bit had my mind thinking of what it must of been like. After listening I couldnt help but have a sense of appreciation. Thank you both for your service.
TILT is a true legend.
“Palm trees-3, SEALs-0” 😂🤣
A Titan among men.....
Thanks for taking the time TILT !
Epic conversation gentlemen........
I know a Vietnam era Recon Marine. Who worked with a lot of Green Berets up North.
He abandoned his CAR-15 after his first mission. Carried an AK for two years straight.
Before he rotated out. An S-4 told him he'd need to fill a ton of forms. Pull the firing pin, & fill the barrel w/ lead, to take it home
Sensing Bruce's disgust. He said, "I'll take it off your hand, Sgt"
So he led him outside.. Then threw it in the river. Telling him
"I'm not going to let your pogue ass take this home. To bounce your kids on your knee, and lie abt all the VC you mowed down with it" 😂
These last few podcasts with Mr. Meyer have been some of my favorite stories I've ever listened to. Thank you Jocko for bringing this man in 3 times. I love it. Unbelievable what these guys experienced
I've listened to all of the striker Meyer Podcast with Jocko at least a 100 times...... coupled with Jocko telling of it ..intrigues me....I'm there..
I met jocko through rogan, I met tilt through jocko....SOG LEGEND
Vietcong Achievement Medal. Hilarious spin on a decoration.
That's from roger Hayden, a Vietnam seal jocko has 2 episodes with
I’ve always heard Purple Hearts called “Enemy Marksmanship Medals” lol
@@vtwinbuilder3129 Clint Smith called it that once, I chuckled
Me and my buddy who served together agree, these guys are cut from a different cloth.
100% agree. If a fucking enemy got so close to touch my boot , it wouldn't be because I was watching him the whole time. Balls of fucking steel
This stuff is totally AWESOME. Thankyou for doing this guys. I'm definitely getting the audiobooks when they're out.
I think I've listened to this trilogy five times so far, every time I pick up little bits of info that stun me, can't believe these guys got out alive. Thank you all so much
I watch these with tilt ever night...hard to imagine the things he experienced.... they've got to do an epic movie on this.
Who would u have Play tilt besides Matt Damon?
I have been listening to his stories for 3 days straight, I could listen to this great man everyday! Thanks Jocko - echo...
Jocko you talked about JTAC and calling for fire, I was Army 13F Forward Observer or as they call them these days FISTers, we trained at Ft Sill, after basic 8 weeks of Basic Training we spent another 6 weeks training on just calling for fire, 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week, it's pretty involved, this was late 80's, Lasers were still a new technology and GPS was in its infancy, so we're learned old school with Maps and compasses, how to precisely locate yourself, and were the enemy was and how to call in indirect fire, call in distance and direction in MILS from your position and you could direct that fire to run left to right, or SW to NE etc. based in target and how many and large, we did learn the Laser, called a GLID, and transmit electronically to the FDC, also touched on air assets, contacting say the A-10's to run straffing or suppression fire, and the latest greatest thing was Copper Head laser guided Artillery rounds they had in 155's, we had to manually set the laser code and confirm with whoever was sending it.
Jocko-Thank you for this! These men deserve to be known and remembered.
John truly is a national treasure.
“Oh yeah”. So lucky to hear these stories first hand
JOCKO! PLEASE MAKE THIS A MOVIE! ORDERING THE BOOKS NOW.
TOP 3 PODCAST! EVER!
I'm from DC, and it's good to hear the south Jersey, Philly Baltimore accent
In episode 180 John Meyer mentions Nick Brokhausen. Nick was another SOG operator who wrote books about the war. I recommend Brokhausen's books if you enjoy this.
John "TILT" Meyer, fucking legendary. 3 amazing podcast, wow ! I will relisten to them.
Man, I could listen to this guy every podcast.
Great series of podcasts you've had with John Stryker Meyer. I rarely remember to like videos unless they really stand out but I gave this a like because it was especially good and memorable. I know I would be interested in hearing more and I'm sure your other listeners would too.
this dude is an absolute animal. I LOVE IT. Stryker, Thank you for being the kinda man we all strive to be
Mr. Stryker is the most fascinating guy I've heard speak on this subject. Amazing stories! God bless from Sweden.
I have been glued to my phone for the past 3 days listening to the amazing Stryker trilogy.Great stuff.God Bless this special operator.Absolutely fascinating to hear about SF going way back there!
These guys were so crazy it's just the most incredible stories I am glad there will be a record of their courage
These SOG stories are so good. What these men lived through and accomplished is just amazing. So much respect for them.
These podcast are absolutely precious. One because as a general rule most warriors generally don’t talk about the war. Second they only talk about this with their brother warriors that these two men have extraordinary respect for each other. Thank God these men record these for prosperity as they not only detail the amazing courage and skill these warriors have ,but especially in terms of Viet Nam warriors they never got a welcome home from the people they were fighting for. You can say of course politically that war was wrong but the courage and fighting of these men was real.
I have really loved these podcasts with Stryker. I am almost addicted to this podcast. JRE was my #1, Timcast IRL, Shawn Ryan of Vigilance Elite and Jack Carr's podcast. Love this Vietnam stuff and all the viewpoints of the operators that have recently come back. Fascinating stuff.
This guy is not only a badass. But he can write too.
Can you imagine being there? Listing to these podcast let's your mind wonder there
Love hearing Tilts stories an we always need more. Also loving the SOGCast! Thank you!
Loved the TILT podcast. Some of the best interviews. Myers has unique story telling ability. Goin to get the book soon. Great job Jocko!
Its a crying shame none of these SOG operators speak of any of the absolutely insane shit Bob Howard pulled off,the only man in history to be put in for the MOH 3 times for 3 seperate actions within 1 tour, not to mention being completely overrun by so many waves of NVA Bob called in Spooky to hit his position,fu-k that, spooky gun runs make the A-10 seem tame,id love to hear from his team mates .
Levi, Tilt mentions B.Howard in other episodes, and in more detail in his books. Major Plaster covers Howard's missions in his book on history of SOG.
That's cos Tilt and the other guys are talking about running Recon teams and Bob Howard was mainly on Strike teams and that's different from running Recon!
These episodes with mister styker have been just amazing.
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for getting together with Tilt again.
Totally agree on the fear thing esp with sports. Motocross perfect example
love these interviews. I read the sog book by plaster. awesome. I always wondered more about jerry shriver.
shriver was considered by most as one of the best sog ever had, but his story needs told.
bob howard was another one.
THANK YOU GUYS for fighting communism. thank you John Stryker.
The sog mission stories are amazing.
This is excellent documentation, some of the schools were I live don't have Vietnam in there history books, and it's a shame. Well done gentleman.
Amazing, nothing beats starting the day with a good book, Thank you it made my day.
watching this years later. god bless you TILT AND JOCKO. Thank you for the service !
Much respect to our alive and gone soldiers. An much respect to these men that fought the good fight and came home. An this mans detailed briefings about all his action. I’m stuck I can’t watch anything else, I’m on day 2 in a row. New favorite podcast.
John your the best. Right up here with Roger Hayden interview. Jocko, youshould do the audio of the book.
These podcasts with the SOG guys are absolutely amazing! The missions they ran are epic and I'm glad that they can finally tell their story
My partner at my job before I retired was a Vietnam Vet. He was the only other lunatic I ever met in a gunfight, and I asked him about it one night. He said "after seeing all those thousands of rounds around me, and after being shot up I'm not worried about a few gang bangers." Anthony Waldon was a f*****ng giant, and he was one of the best friends I've ever been blessed to have.
This is the third podcast I have watched with Mr Meyer. I can only describe their missions as the equivalent of being a worn on a hook thrown into a pond of fish. Simply amazed that any of them survived.
Tilt the legend. Amazing stories. Super Rambo.
Compared to this guy, rambo is a p***y
Blown away by the John Stryker Meyer podcasts..... absolute legend. Can't get enough
I just gotta say this man's recall of specific dates and times from something that long ago at his age is just incredible. Unbelievable things these guys did hats off to yinz outstanding
bout to have my second listen.....coz i cant beleive what i heard the first time......smash that tilt button
If Jocko had him on more, there be nothing left to read of his books.
Incredible stories of service. I know they are quiet professionals, but future generations NEED to know how high the bar has been set, and what they have sacrificed. Thank you. 🇺🇸
An HBO series like BoB or The Pacific would be a phenomenal way of making these soldiers actions known for the world!
Fuck hbo just a communist shill!
