  • How to Fix HID Compliant Touch Screen Missing in Windows 10/11 [Guide]
    Command Used:
    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
In this tutorial, we're looking at a problem where the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Driver is missing and no longer available in Device Manager. Also, you might see numerous devices installed by the same name, known as ghost devices.
Frequently, we see this problem after upgrading to Windows 10 or running Windows Updates. The problem is typically due to a driver conflict, meaning we have to find the right driver, requiring some guesswork on your part.
If you see multiple devices (ghost devices) listed in Device Manager, then those are previously installed devices that we're removed, but the drivers remain. As you might have guessed by now, your problem is most likely a driver issue.

HID-Compliant Touch Screen goes missing in the device manager when either the touch screen was disabled manually by the user or when the system fails to install the touch screen drivers by default in the system. The HID-Compliant Touch Screen is usually located under Human Interface Devices in Device Manager.
If, for some reason, you had disabled your Windows PC Touchscreen because it didn’t work with the installed version of Windows 10 and Windows 11, and later you find out that it cannot be enabled, it’s sure to be disappointing. Windows 8.1 wasn’t really as great as Windows 11/10 when it came to the touch experience. Windows 11/10 has solid integration for touch and for accessories like a digital pen. While the usual way to disable and enable is through Human Interface Device or HID under Device Manager, if the HID-Compliant touch screen is no longer available in Device Manager, here is the fix.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.
