Most know where to go. I actually saw a beaver walking around next to a stream on one of the videos from the area.Put a smile on my face.
At 64, I've learned one thing. Your memories are always with you. Because of bad decisions in life i got rid of things i cherished. But i can still remember them. You guys are hard at it . The hard work will pay off . I'll make plans to come there in a couple of years from Florida with the camper and check things out and spend some money. I love that area.

Thats a Country Boy Area they will have it rebuilt within a week, better than before. Hell half of um probably liked it.
Tell me, I'm retired from road and bridge construction . How do replace a road that is totally gone along with all of the material it sat on ? And replace the house that is in a million pieces 20 miles down stream ?
Was the last part of this video from the old Hardware store in Marshall?? I recognize the middle part of the video (old jail and cafe).... eaten there several times.

no marshal is a very accepting place, most mountain citys are actually pretty accepting.
@I-serve-you-tea The name sake, John Marshall, the longest-serving Chief Justice of the United States, owned hundreds of slaves throughout his life. These towns sprung up out of broken treaties with the natives which the land and waters still carry their names. Sorry not sorry its pay up time for ancient crimes.
@@quintile9705 They are also very homogeneous for towns where some of the biggest slave owners of NC are the founding fathers. Suspect acceptability is not the reason.
@@Thomas-nb7mg No towns in the mountains had the biggest slave owners in NC. Some of the towns were founded by slave owners - but the slave population in the area was 8-13% compared with 20-40% in other areas of NC/SC with actual plantations. Learn your history. Marshall and many other mountain towns still have small populations of Black residents in proportion to historic percentages, even if you don't see them in this video. Leslie Riddle the old time guitarist was from Madison County and many people there fought for the Union. I know for a fact there are minorities in Marshall. This dumb woman posts on all these videos and knows snap. Sundown towns are a myth of the past that outsiders believe in.
