I have done this ride so many times...living in the Islands is amazing!! worked at the Sailing center in Burlington so one day I biked from town all the way out to the ferry in 30 minutes!
I'm working in Vt and took my bike last week. I rode from oakledge park to the break in the causeway. It is an awesome ride. I met a couple that was telling about the riding on the other side of the causeway. Does it keep going as a bike trail or does it change to roads? Also how far can I go if I head the other direction out of Oakledge? Any info would be much appreciated. I'll be working up there for a while and look forward to doing some more exploring. Thanks
It continues along the Rutland ROW until Martin Rd where you then need to take the roads. (as the state in their stupid wisdom deciding NOT to rail bank or sell the line to Vermont Railway...Tore up the tracks and sold it to land owners...Honestly they need to use eminent domain and reclaim the original ROW, relay tracks and run it as a mainline)
