So much better than the US mix... I'm lucky to have a copy of the UK LP. I prefer it to the Warner release, a lot of songs are different and longer....
I didn't realise how crappy the US mix of the whole album was until I got it on CD bundled with Whammy and a Greatest Hits album a few years later. They wrecked the mixing on a few songs as well - Throw That Beat In The Garbage Can has a way better balance in particular instead of being drowned out by the guitar.
The vocals are better here, but in some ways I prefer the US version for its instrumentation. There are several awesome keyboard parts that aren't found on this UK version, which I miss dealyr, but this version has its own unique qualities too. If I had to choose, I'd go with the drum sound/mix of the US version as well.

Et oui, et il existe même une version US remixée en 1990, au moment de la réédition CD, pleine de reverb et d'effets inutiles, qui est la plus commune de nos jours... Je suis entièrement d'accord, c'est leur disque le moins connu et pourtant le mieux produit... Avec David Byrne des Talking Heads à la production, c'est vraiment pas étonnant !
I bought UK version of Mesopotamia in early 80s, so this is the mix I'm used to. Just discovered the US version too today. I like both.
