    How Far Do You Think The Giants Go This Year? 🤔

    • @judewhite4401
      @judewhite4401 20 дней назад +4

      I think they could be similar to the 2022 Jets: they win games off the strength of their defense, but their quarterback is terrible, likely putting them in that 6-11, 7-10 range and putting them in position for somebody like Jalen Milroe from Alabama.

    You spit some bars in this one. The Saquon loss is overblown, we weren’t a juggernaut rushing attack with him. With the work we put into the trenches, I think a RBBC can be at least SERVICABLE behind that line (not to mention DJs rushing ability). Im not impressed with the Tight End room either though. Im just praying that our offense is good enough to uphold Brian Daboll’s reputation and job security, as he is crucial to our success going forward. As long as DJ doesn’t turn the ball over a massive amount of times and our defense hits it’s top 10 upside, we can definitely exceed expectations. 7-8 win ceiling.

    • @Metalgarn
      @Metalgarn 20 дней назад +3

      I don't think Daboll is really in jeopardy at this point.
      John Mara has NEVER fired a HC that had his GM's support. Daboll would have to have an epic disaster and roster mutiny (like Mac in 2017) to lose Schoen's support.
      They aren't precisely a package deal but they are pretty close... and Mara isn't going to fire both of them this early on without being left with no choice whatsoever.

    I think Barkley was a good Giant. That being said, we never should have taken him in the first place. A running back like him is the finishing piece. Not a building block. Even though it was definetley a mistake, it could've worked out if gettleman acutally knew how to draft. He's had a total of 3 good draft picks throughout his tenure and picking Barkley is just one of his big misses

    • @boki1693
      @boki1693 17 дней назад

      @@davydmaxwell2639 Heres were we agree though. Or disagree. Barkley wasn't a miss. He was just the wrong choice for the Giants at this point. If we already had Jones as a rookie or first year QB when we picked Barkley, I would have been ok with it. Not saying Jones is great. Just saying we thought we had our QB at that time. As it turned out, it really didn't matter much because in hindsight, all the top QB's were pretty much failures anyway. But all I am really saying is the Giants had to secure a QB BEFORE they picked someone like Barkley at a luxury position.
      Because by this time I didn't have any faith in Gettleman as a GM anyway.

      I think y’all picked right with saquon I just think yall should have moved on from Daniel jones when yall had the chance to and honestly paid saquon. If yall bring in a young qb yall still are a playoff team cause yall success and Daniel jones success ran through saquon just like it would with a young qb. Also paying saquon 13 mil or whatever he was asking at the time gives yall more money to play with and build that offense rather than giving a mediocre quarterback in Daniel jones 40 mil. You are very right that McKinney is a big loss. I was shocked at how unconcerned with re-signing him they seemed to be.
    I also agree the Giants had an awful offense with Saquon last year and probably won't be much worse without him this year. HOWEVER, I do believe that, once he left, so did their chances of getting back to the (solid-but-not-thrilling) offense they had in 2022. He absolutely elevated Jones.
    Most of the starts Jones did make last year were without Saquon, and it showed. Of course, their two full games together were opposites: the 40-0 blowout loss to the Cowboys, then that big comeback against the Cardinals. In the former, Saquon kind of put that pick-six on Dan's stat sheet; but in the latter, he put the team on his back and got hurt as a result.
    Hopefully Nabers can now be the guy who can elevate the offense. Plus Daboll has had an offseason to rethink their identity.
    And I also think highly of Bellinger.

    The answer to a better than 500 season is easy... Trade Slayton for a Cornerback- the fella in New Orleans would be cool, sign the Buffalo Corner with some of the cap cash and find a way to get Dante Miller the ball to change up Singletary & Gray.... (I think Turbo has more upside than Tracey) a flex guy. List the FB as the third TE with Theo & Bellinger- solid. The WR corps is solid- keep Robinson to replace Slayton, OL is solid and finally servicable, DL/Edge very good, Backers are solid, Safeties are solid. Then keep all in place and add THE QB next year and we'll be in good shape.

      No he didn't. Evan while whiffing on his blocks Evan Neal at least gets his hands _on_ pass-rushers, right? The players in the 1st 23 minutes of ruclips.net/video/FiiK21VzI_o/видео.html are *actively running away from* their blocks. & if you watch how shocked the QB looks, you can tell this wasn't how things went in practice.
      I mention this because we're already seeing the fallout from it & are likely to see more. The same channel did a breakdown of that QB's last preseason game. He can't stop bobbing, looking around nervously & running when passes are available.
      That can happen when your own coaches & teammates betray you repeatedly & NO ONE, not even fans or analysts acknowledge this.
      That film is from Week One of '23. Imagine your Entire Team doing this to you, the players watching it happen from the bench & no one says anything.
      It seems to have affected him. But yeah, the Giants' o-line was bad too. Just not that bad.

    my guess is Danny plays until week 5 or 6. Maybe he gets 1 or 2 wins. Then he gets injured or benched. They then play drew lock who gets maybe to 2 wins. Then he gets hurt or benched. Then cutlets comes in and wins a few. So they go 6-11 or 7-10 and miss out on any chance of drafting a good qb.

    it’s not just that they let Saquon walk, it’s that they let him walk AFTER shelling out the big bucks to Danny Nickels. yeah it’s a passing league and letting your star RB walk, even if he’s one of the best in the position, isn’t the end of the world, letting him walk so you can free up cap space to overpay your garbage QB is the kind of decision that’s setting this franchise back

      If the giants were to draft Eli’s replacement any year, in hindsight it shoulda been 2018 where the saquon pick was made. Issue arises when said qb is either Sam darnold, josh Rosen, josh Allen (who would not have been developed properly), or a massive reach in Lamar.
      2020: drafting a qb a year after your rookie posts a promising season is dumb.
      2021: nobody would have panned out in the fires of NY
