For the TL;DW for people on the go. 1. Hydrate skin, light weight cream. 2. Primer over the area of large pores. 3. after base (before foundation) set a little powder over the same area you primed. 4. Foundation. 5. Powder set. 6. do everything else. 7. Use setting spray.

I'm almost 40 and people often think I'm 28-30 years old ;) So pay attention kids! I have sensitive oily skin. Even water from the shower is already an attack on my skin. And I'm seriously allergic to sulfates, so lots of products are not an option for me. Ever since I started to use the products below my skin has never been better. These are the products I use:
    - Artdeco advanced exfoliating facial gel - super soft and gentle to the skin, apply on dry skin, you just massage the dead skincells away.
    - Caudalie Vinopure facewash
    - Khiel's Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner
    - Khiel's Centella Sensitive Facial Cleanser (sooo good! when I'm in a rush that's all I apply, it hydrates my skin sooo good)
    - In winter: Khiel's Clearly Corrective™ Brightening & Smoothing Moisture Treatment
    - In summer: Khiel's Rosa Artica Lightweight cream
    - My sunscreen: Uriage HYSÉAC - FLUIDE SPF50+ (It's a mattifying day cream with SPF50 but it does the trick). I used to use the Uriage 50 SPF matte sunscreen, but that still gave me little blemishes.
    - Foundation: Bare Minerals COMPLEXION RESCUE™ TINTED MOISTURIZER - HYDRATING GEL CREAM BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 (I don't use a lot, just a thin layer, as my skin is in good shape, it's more about evening out the skin tone before applying make-up. But actually most days I don't wear foundation.)
    I- don't use any concealer because I actually don't need it :)
    - Bronzer & powder are both from bare minerals too.

AFRODITI BITSAKOU neutrogena hydroboost gel lotion/spf 30 and 50 is around $8 at the drugstore and is wonderful for all skin types (but particularly oily.) It is a clear gel, so no white mask of slickness to cause melt down or breakouts like so many spfs cause. It absorbs beautifully while hydrating really well. Biore also makes a good one if you can find it. Coola also has great ones and the mineral powder spfs are great to apply throughout the day.

    Hi Ali Andreea,
I wanted to add to your tips what I had discovered through the years. I am 43, an Architect, from Bulgaria, and my skin is of the type which is usually called "a combination one", but to me the term means that the skin has the ability to either adapt or to disagree with various conditions, having the mathematical ability to calculate in combinatorics. When I wash, my skin dries very smooth and dry, but once I start applying a cream, until I put foundation with primer, eye shadow with a liner, mascara and powder my skin looks as if it were to be oily while it is mostly wet in a specific regime. That is why many women and young girls do not use cream, I suspect, if they were not able to use make-up.
I learned that what could matter is if your cream, eye cream, and make-up were to come from the same brand, and the use of tools is essential, as the tools are used to be held at a distance from your face, each in its own dimension of being held according to the nature of the product and its use, and act, also, in a way by preventing inflammation, or allergic reaction, both for the face of the person, but also back to the ingredient of the manufacturer. To me this is the same principle by which a person does not eat with the spoon from the complete bowl of soup until the soup is in the individual bowl. Then, I usually apply thin layers of the different products, including eye shadows similarly to how one would paint in watercolor, by applying the shades one after the other in thin layers. I learn this from having bought some products from Chanel online, from an English reseller and by looking at them, at their packaging and perfection I was inspired to be very careful, like yourself, and be slow in the application instead of being in the hurry. It could be mentioned that if the person were to ab able to afford using a perfume or an Eau de Toilette by the same brand from which the make-up is bought, this will definitely prevent some allergic reaction, and that reaction often expresses itself by creasing and changes in the make up result; even I could go as far as to say that it is the allergic reaction that causes the appearance of the oily skin.
I, also, learned that the light condition change even if you were to remain at home once your make up is ready, and it could be more preferable that your make up is not very full-coverage, so that there were to be some space for the layers to readjust. That is how, also, foundation tends to set in lines on the skin even when we were young to have had any wrinkles. I, myself, had lines around my mouth when I was in my early twenties, and now I tend to not have them, so learning definitely has helped me.
For oily skin I could recommend by my own experience, also, Vichy Dermablend FDT. It sticks very well to the skin, although sets in the pores. It is the opposite to what the high-end brands prefer to sell, but works, and with a good cream and patience one could satisfy the desire of the skin for protection and perfection with a very tight budget. My first ever product as a FDT was a foundation cream by Vichy, from their first appearance in Bulgaria, which was somewhere around the year 2000, more or less. I started to use the more expensive brands after I had reached my 40s, for one reason, because when I worked I had to get up at around 5.30, and had a long day until 7 p.m., and then, because with the years I could afford to buy more expensive products. I am mentioning this, because it is important for the person to be able to afford the product they were to buy, and not choose between buying a good product for make-up instead of buying the necessary food or books they were to need. I have years of trying to survive financially, and I am saying this from my own experience as well
I used to wish for Chanel to be able to produce products which were intended for the women in Bulgaria, and to be affordable for our style of life, but it is impossible, I suspect. I even, in an embarrassing way, wrote to Chanel with this proposal, to which I received a response that they worked in a specific way and somebody, like a manufacturer or a distributor were supposed to make an offer and a plan for Chanel to satisfy, where I am one person who is not even involved in this sphere of business.
    Best wishes!

Thanks for visually showing us how to apply foundation the correct way. I’ve been applying the wrong way this whole time and wonder why I look like sh*t at the end of the day. I tried your method for the past two days and my foundation actually stayed throughout! I always blamed the weather here (it’s forever humid and hot in this country), for removing my makeup but now I can finally look forward to going out knowing I won’t look like crap after >8 hrs. Yay!!!! 😘😘🙂🙂

What about a tutorial for large pores/dry mature skin? What are great foundations to use for that? The minute I apply any powder it looks like dust on my face and dries it out even more. Thank you Ali!!!!

Wow I wish I’d found this years ago! I’m just using the low end products I already have, but using her TECHNIQUES... WOW 👏👏 this is by FAR the best my skin has ever looked with full coverage, and I think that’s a testament to her skills far more than the products (although I think the Tarte Shape Tape has enough backing to make it worth a try😆) but thank you so much for sharing @ali Andrea, I feel amazing! The tricks you shared I’ve honestly never heard and they make a huge difference! You’re a true artist and your video was wonderful to watch 🙂

I use Mac compact plus foundation and maybelline age rewind concealer and then spritz Mac setting spray . It gives me a natural skin but it makes my skin glow like a light . A dilemma for oily skin 😢 but kinda have come in terms with it

Dear Andreea, I love your videos, my daughter and I are learning a lot about makeup and ways to apply.
You are very professional and knowledgeable.
I like to know which Kokutan brush did you use, the “ Blush brush S , or the Powder brush M “
The reason I ask is because I want to buy one for my daughter.
And I want to get the correct one, I hope you can help me with this question.
    Thank you very much 🙏🏻

    Wayne Goss !!!
Everything I learned from him comes alive with your tutorials :)
I like you both somehow I believe you should make better 'newer' concepts. Because almost all your tricks are repeating him. Which i kinda like, since he gives quick tips and you make the application of them but still... love you
