- Microsoft Teams Screen Share Not Working On Windows and MAC.
Note: This workaround is only for the users that are facing an issue with the recent updates with Microsoft Teams where the end-user that is accepting a screen share request does not see anything. All they see is a black screen with the other person's initials on it.
If you are not facing this issue and are running into some other issues, please leave a comment below and I shall get back to you as soon as I can. :)

💬 Background: After running into a weird issue where I was not able to see anything on a screen share session and going through lots of google search results, I finally did not find a solution to this weird Microsoft Teams Screen Sharing issue. Microsoft has not publicly announced that there is an issue with this feature, but lots of users are complaining about the screen sharing not working and staying on the black screen with the users' initials.
After some troubleshooting, I found this workaround by accident.

The button for sharing the screen is disabled for me
I'm not able to share my screen anymore. Teams asks me to set the appropriate setting in the preferences panel, but it is already set. Even re-granting the permission does not help. Since I often have to share my screen with my colleagues in my daily work, I would be available for advice.
Try reinstaling the app including removing the app data
if organizer is sharing his screen in microsoft teams but attendee is not seeing that what's the issue. this problem is occuring from which end by organizer or by attendee let us know
This is issue with microsoft teams application and does not have anything to do with the end user. Unfortuantely, this issue has not been addressed by microsoft either.
In our meeting couple of members were able to see my screen in other days but for last 2-3 days when they accept my request .....it gives message....dismiss or retry.... please suggest how can v add them
Try web version and see if you still see this issue?

When you click on the share screen button, it should give you options to either share the desktop, or a window.
hi ! when i share the screen , black screen appears and only the moving cursor is visible to the attendee. pls tell how to resolve this.

Hi, I share screen during my class via teams a few students are not able to see the shared screen a few times before we suggested them to log out and log in but now it doesnt work that way..
You can ask those student to loginto teams in a browser and try if that works.

I’m on a Mac but I sign in through Citrix. It’s been causing some issues
Maybe it has something to do with the virtualization and maybe there are limitations set to a remote session?

Try upgrading your Teams installation
When i share screen via ms team it stuck a lot with good speed net.
From the app? Are you using laptop or pc?

Check if your laptop is in battery saver mode and do u use it while plugged in into the charger or on battery?

Sometimes the screen share works, other times no, there is no file to select, to share. It just won't share! Feels unstable, counterintuitive and unreliable.
Yeah it’s not a perfect product, like any other applications. Try installing the most latest version and see if this improves your situation.
