- People often ask me where I get all my ideas. It’s simple, it can be anywhere and from anything. In this video I show creative process examples. Actually this whole video is a creative process example. I show examples of geometric abstraction, paint rectangle, show art with frames within frames and create my own paintings with geometric shapes. In the process of finding ideas or looking for ideas I explain the relevance to take a second look when something is triggering. Geometric abstraction of paintings with geometric shapes are interesting to look at. I also paint my idea of an abstract forest painting in the form of a blue and green abstract painting.

In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

Albert what I love about your videos is they are mainly intended (as you mention in the intro) to look at art and the world around you differently. You are truly the mindful art guru! Thank you!
Hi Phil, thanks, lovely to hear you like my approach. What is main creative activity? Painting or something else? I would love to hear. Albert
Albert, you are the best! Thank you for teaching us.
Hi Valensiyah, thanks. Enjoy painting, Albert
Oh my gosh Albert! I know this one was posted a while ago, but when I watched it this morning I was truly inspired - especially as you played with the frame within frame portion by cutting out the square from the two pieces and interchanging them. As always, thank you for posting!
Thanks D C, yes interesting subject those frames. So nice to play with. I wish you lots of joy in your painting experiments. Albert
I really love how you teach us how to do abstract art🙏😁
Hi Lucia, thanks. I like abstract so much, I often can't understand what I see and that triggers me do dive in. Have a nice day, Albert
I wish I would have found your channel years ago! I love everyone of your videos! Karen, in Michigan
Thanks, Karen. Just enjoy the now. Not all are great, but quite a lot I guess. Albert
I love the way you paint more than the masters
Thanks, m S. I like to show how artists work, but how it can trigger your creativity as well. And to show that you can use their artwork as a starting point to go wherever. The focus is on the viewer, how to help them. To help you. Enjoy, Albert
Albert, you are a creative, motivating, inspiring and tender instructor. Thank you for the time and effort you spend in relaying your ideas to us. On the subject of frames, I myself started doing abstract by leveraging regular geometric shapes: overlapping them in multitude of ways and try to paint and shading them according to topological rules that I set myself to abide by. This lead me to discover Malevitch, El Lissitzky amongst others. You “Paint like Jasper Jones” episode inspired me to introduce non-regular shapes (organic, human body parts and figures to the geometric mix. This breathed new life to my style and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you again.
Hi Salim, thanks for sharing all this. Interesting to hear what you paint and how you came to change it. I love to be a part in that. But keep in mind you saw something and you decided to make a change or evolve. Processes are so interesting. That's why I started to share mine on RUclips. I need this challenge of a video a week to keep painting. My best choice on a creative viewpoint. As a bonus I get to know you and all the other lovely painters, sharing their stories. Have a wonderful day, Albert
Hello Albert, Geometry has always been in my head ever since I was a kid and the way I see it is that (to me) it brings everything together, Juan
Hi Chano, thanks. I see what you mean, I agree. And sometimes I get bored with all the squares but likely we also have circles and ovals in the geometry department. Have a wonderful day, all
For me, you are a genius! César, his follower, from Brazil.
Hi Cesar, thanks. Enjoy making your version, Albert
Thank you for taking the time to create your videos for us. They are really great. i think frames do lots of things that help the viewerget more out of the art itself. It enhances and gives new perspective.
Thanks Suzanne, nice to hear your ideas about frames. Frames can guide or focus or perhaps even distract to let you focus in a different way. Or 20 different reasons. I love them for it. Albert
You are a great teacher and artist! Very creative and sympathique. Thanks, greetings from Munich
Thanks, P. Happy painting, Albert
You are a great teacher and artist! I had to try the portrait style by Amedeo Modigliani, I liked what I did and it was fun to do.
Thanks, sueaberle. Good to hear you enjoyed doing experiments. Keep up the good work. Albert
Excellent video with lots of ideas! I like to separate areas with masking tape and paint shadows to make the area look 3D above the rest of the painting. John Beckley has lots of videos about how to do that.
That's always fun to play with. Beckly is interesting. Albert
Fantastic Sir! Thanks so much.
Thanks Brian, enjoy painting your versions. Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings is there a way to send your photos to completely critique?? I can handle it
In the description under this video ruclips.net/video/wmedyAH7DGY/видео.html you can find a way to contact me. 2 or 3 pictures is okay. Albert
@@ImperfectPaintings I'm an old man not greatly proficient at this but I'll try my best or ask for help. Thanks soon much for the reply and consideration. Wow!
I just saw community guidelines. How could any human being be disrespectful to a person such as this? A truly talented soul willing to share with the world. I have a love/hate relationship with the internet to put it mildly.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Fijne dag verder, Albert
Frames catch our attention, what to do with this attention is the artist's issue. I like very much your random lines result, it has also a Christmas vibe (red $ green), a special decoration for these days!😁
Hi Con Civ, thanks 'attention' good choice. And what to do with it, you can have fun with it or ignore it. Yes red and green (nice thinking, you see everything, haha), just love this season with all the shiny Christmas trees. Happy painting, Albert
New Subscriber. I found you when I was researching Cy Twombly. I watched your collection where you paint like famous painters- Twombly being my favorite, but I also love Jawlensky's abstract faces and that got me hooked. I LOVE how you demonstrate and explain! I tend to lean towards flowers, trees and landscapes in general, but now thanks to you, I tried a few other inspirations and have really enjoyed it. I "frame" almost all my images in one way or another- drawing black or white lines to pull an image "forward".
Hi Rebecca, thanks for your comment, it means lot to me. I really love to hear about you framing your artwork like you do. Interesting to hear and perhaps try another way now? Also great to hear you tried other than your usual subjects. Keep painting and enjoying it. Have a happy day, Albert
I think you are fantastic!!! Very inspirational, and just fun. Very nice indeed.
Hi Vikings daughter, thanks. Adjust your way of looking around and have fun too. Albert
Great video 😊
Thanks John
I loved this video😍🤙🏻👌🏻
Hi Maryam, and I love your comments 👍🙂
I want you to teach me how to draw abstract pictures. Black and white in different ways. I like watching you teach. It's fun..thanks...
Hi Suwong, thanks. Black & White is fascinating, there is no end to it. Enjoy making your own versions. Albert
It was so interresting to hear your comments about frames within frames. My son is an abstract painter and while in art school had an exhibit entitled "It's Hip to be Square" - many takes on frames within frames! Sorry I cannot post an example or two as there is no way to add a file.
Thanks, Dakotasus, for sharing your lovely story. When you start to play with concepts like this, there are almost no boundaries. It's like you can create a new world with its own set of rules. Freedom in art. I love it. Albert
I think frames are not always where the eye goes. They can be under appreciated. The artist may be saying that the frame is important along with the art so it says Notice My Beauty also when frames are in a frame. Just my take on it
You're Connie, different types of frames have different effects. Always fun to look at them in different ways. Albert
Can I make this technique with hard pastel ?
Interest question, Rima, I would try if I were you. In my opinion any art tools or technique can be used for anything. Enjoy, Albert
Thank you ? I'll try ☺️
