When you have to pause the video to settle the whiplash felt when hearing Jordan Peterson as a great philosopher within 1 minute of the video.

Humans have literally always had group identity it’s straight up how we survive and either the group decides collectively what it’s limits are or the leader does

Apologies for the late reply - me neither but I can recommend the book “The Simpsons and Philosophy” if you’re interested in more philosophical thoughts on the show. Glad to see a long time subscriber and thanks for the kind words!

I can't seem to escape these philosophies and ideas lol. It started in my English class, then my government class, then these conspiracy theory videos I was watching, and then Nier Automata. I just find it odd I'm finding it all at the same time.

Although he certainly thinks, i dont know if jordan peterson does so particularly well, let alone for him to be “great” because of it. Having read neitzche myself, i find it kind of sad to see people hold jordan as in anyway similar to or an equal of neitzche.

@@LuciferianStrings I mean... Just based on JP's latest rant about his banishment from Twitter which included, amongst many things, some terrible assessments about Elliot Page that were full of mysoginistic, xenophobic and some sexually disturbing comments about him, his gender and his "breasts". But, more importantly, his rant also included statements where he actually said that the Saudis, or more specifically, Muhammed Bin Salman shouldn't be "hectored on very dubious moral grounds by the unwise actors constituting the current democrat administration" when that man ORDERED the assasination and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi who, by the way, was a United States resident and journalist at the Washington Post. Don't be fooled by his fancy words and mannerisms. His words may be "pretty" but his message is idiotic, racist, pure incel garbage propaganda, and above all else, DANGEROUS.

I have a point to add here is that there is a danger with the idea of authenticity as being who you truly are, when everyone follows suit. Then funnily enough you become what you seek to avoid. As we all become authentic {try} we all become the masses. So this is one implication of all of us trying to be who we are.

@@motioninart some people will never grow past what they are, nor will they try to understand the people they dislike based on the opinions of others.
There's a lot of people that dislike him, mostly due to some of his comments they disagree with and use to disregard the rest of what he says, and while there's nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone, they just have an emotional reaction that just makes you cringe more than wanting to understand them.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, they easily hate people they disagree with instead of just disagreeing with the things they don't like and trying to understand everything else that is helpful.

@@marlinbethea-gullap4666 I guess it's much more about his inaccurate/made up statements that are horribly harmful for the academia. Maybe peterson was a good source of psychoanalysis in the past. Homever, nowadays, he continuosly lie about many different topics in order to sustain his personal beliefs. It's funny how you talk about emotional reaction because he's very emotional and unprofessional towards any criticism. He also basically ignores any actual specialist refuting him. Anyways, a very troubled individual trying to disguise his weird beliefs as science.
