GET BETTER WITH LOOSE WATERCOLORS - EASY PRACTICE | WATERCOLOR DRAWING | WATERCOLOR PAINTING

  • Loosening up of your painting approach should start from your mind. We have to loosen up our thought process. We have quickly respond to our thoughts or ideas and paint without much of self doubting or evaluation . I would just trust and wouldn’t worry if I am thinking in the right way or not while practicing to loosen up. I would paint impulsively or instinctively.
This video is for you if you are looking for to loosen up your watercolors, get into more free, impressionistic way of expressing your subject in watercolors. Being loose is not something you can achieve overnight - you may have to deliberately practice for some time.
So the question is - how do we practice? There could be infinite ways. Here I am following one approach that I think could help.. It helped me and I thought I would share it with you.
I am elaborating and demonstrating a process that I believe could loosen up my watercolour painting approach. This is just a beginning, we need to do more practice with this and other approaches.
    Materials used:
    Cartridge paper around 120 GSM
Waterproof pen Uni Pin Fine Line 0.7
Camel Artist Watercolors: Cobalt Blue, Payne's Grey, Olive Green, Raw Sienna, Red, Orange, Chinese White. Additionally I have used Cobalt Green and Liliac from Aquatone brand.

WATERCOLOUR VIDEOS FOR BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATE LEVELS!!!
I strongly believe that there is a child in each of us, who would love playing with colours.
I am a self taught watercolor artist , teaching watercolour painting to watercolour aspirants. I prefer preparing tutorial videos showing the process of simplification for photographs and painting from imagination so that we end up doing representation the subject in my own way.
As I learnt lot from RUclips, its my target to share my knowledge back on youtube by creating watercolors step by step, to encourage, inspire and guide viewers interested in learning watercolour.

I did a lot of painting 20 years back, but my cooperate life never let me touch my brushes. But after watching this video it ignited my passion for painting - I woke up those brushes after a long slumber. Washing style of painting something I am really weak at, but your tips gave me some confidence. Thank you for posting such an amazing tutorial.

    • @VanidasMangathilArt
      @VanidasMangathilArt  Месяц назад +2

It’s really a difficult question to answer. As far as I know, the decision of which colour to use depends upon various factors - the subject being painted where different elements may have different local colours, the style of work, the ambience/atmosphere/mood you want to create, the colour perspectives, considerations like colour balancing, harmony etc. It’s a big subject and I haven’t learnt enough academically explain these topics. I pick up my colour based on what I ‘feel’ as appropriate. This feeling is something that got evolved over a period of time painting in watercolours.
Some of the basic considerations I naturally make while picking colours are:
      - colour perspective where I make farther elements with diffused colours, nearer elements with slightly stronger colours.
      - colour contrast for focal elements where I give colour contrasts and stronger colours to the focal elements
      - less colour contrast for less important elements so that they don’t grab too much of viewer’s attention.
      - tonal considerations where colours are picked/mixed to get the right tonal value.
Hope the above helps a bit..
