Okay, this video has so many inaccuracies. ALL 2021 Q3s are S-line. It has nothing to do with the equipment. It’s an appearance package. This is a base model, which is why it has tiny 18” wheels. Other models have 19” and 20” wheels. Also the key fob has nothing to do with remote start not being offered. Audi doesn’t offer remote start on any vehicles. Also, there is a universal garage door opener in the infotainment system. They are trying to keep the interior clean, so it’s integrated into the infotainment system. Also higher trims have a wireless charging pad. The center console can be raised. Why didn’t you just pull up on it and try? I think this is a good video, and detailed, but you need to do your research. You called out a lot of missing features, that you’re only missing because you’re in a base model. You should call out that those options are available on higher trims.
Just bought a new 2021 Q3 and love it. Absolutely brilliant car. You must be a really perfect person who is very hard to please. Your criticism about the looks etc is very petty. You need to buy a Lamborghini or a Ferrari at $200,000 if you want perfection. Remember it is a car built for transportation….
What speakers does it come with. I’m getting the ass line but on a piece of paper that the dealer gave me it says “Audi Sound-system” is that just the base sound system or will it been sono or Bang and oflusen
The wife and I bought the ‘22 Q3 a few weeks ago, the star or snowflake on the steering wheel is for the garage door. The wife loves the Q3, had a ‘19 VW Passat prior to the Q3.
The star button on the steering wheel is a "Favorite" button which could be programmed for other functions too. But on some trims, that is the heated steering wheel button like my car, 2022 Technik. The home link system is actually in the infotainment for it.
The garage door opener function is in the center LCD screen settings, instead of being in that cluster of controls that manages the panoramic roof, etc. Even with the S line additions, this looks to still be the Premium (base) model. Once you upgrade to Premium Plus and add on certain packages, such as the tech packages that improve the look and size of the dash screens, there are additional features that can be added. You probably know this info by now, since this video is older. I do agree with most of your assessments and LMAO at the zoom in on that random media control they put in a super weird place. My thinking is that the passenger can use that to control the media whereas the driver uses the steering wheel controls. Still looks a little wonky though LOL
You can lift the arm rest higher in the front. It has three to four stops when it goes up. Unfortunately it always moves back horizontally. It won’t lock horizontally but does so vertically.
I just bought one. I see what you say about the grill. Mine is black with a blackout package, so the grill doesn't stand out like it does with the chrome. I think it looks sharp!
Considering the Q3 as my next car. Actually one of the things I like compared to the Taos and the Tiguan are the paddle shifters. Currently have a Crosstrek and use the paddles a lot when stopping on snow and Ice. Car slows down without locking tires and losing traction, while keeping 2 hands on the wheel in harsh conditions. A win win.
Yes, the cargo cover goes underneath the flooring and it fits well because the flooring actually adjust one level up so that the cargo cover fits nicely.
Try to learn a bit more about the vehicle before doing your review, I have a 2022 Q3 and it does in face have an homelink, it is integrated into the software and touchscreen, you also can program the star button on the steering wheel as your physical homelink button. There and no warning light under the right side of the touch pad, and a lot of the blanks is because you have a cheaper model. While you may have an S-line that does not mean it has all the bells and whistles. S-line is just the exterior appearance package. Also my vehicle also has the wireless phone charger. And the center armrest does lift and extend to support your arm while driving.
I'm not sure why the "Play or Pause" doesn't show up on your screen, but they show up on my screen. As for the garage door opener, I programmed it on the * button on the steering wheel. 🖖🥰
I have a 2023 Q3 .Drives beautifully however my biggest issue with it the brakes! It makes a terrible Thumping noise when you get of the garage or you slowly drive in traffic foot on brake pedal.Very annoying.I took the car to the dealer they say its normal!?I tried a brand new Q3 as well same issue with the brakes. As somebody mentioned it sounds like when the Titanic sinking.Same noise. Very dissapointing. We have a Bmw X1 same year and these brakes are flawless, night and day.Zero noise, zero squeal.
The garage door thing doesn’t really bother me, but I am kind of surprised. They did that on a 2013 q7 so why not on the q3 today? It could be the chip shortage, I guess.
Dead switches could be due to the chip shortage, they intended to make some things standard but couldn't and so they did their best during these "unprecedented times" lol
The garage door opener isn’t a physical button anymore, it’s within the touchscreen. It pops up when you get in close proximity to your home. I hate it!!! I have a 2021 Q5 and I’ve resorted to just keeping my physical garage door opener in my car.
I love my XC40 because it looks very stylish but Volvo always puts safety and functionality as a priority which means it looks nice and I can still have practical touches like a glovebox hook, a built in trash can, laptop size door bins, and being able to fit my cargo cover under the load floor because they designed the floor to accommodate it, which is something this clearly does not do in addition to a mirror with garage HomeLink for 3 doors.
i had an xc60 volvo after having only vw and audis and the volvo i have to say has the worst steering capabilities of any vehicle ( yes even trucks) ive ever owned. also they were so behind in technology even in 2017 that even just blue toothing your phone to the car was near impossible. i will say the only thing i liked was the heated front windshield
I bought the car but i'm really disappointed with the power of that Q3, is the most sleepy car I ever had, that car is for a grandmother, even in sport mode the car is very lazy, and very spongy gas pedal, extremely soft steering wheel, I also have the kia seltos night fall with the same engine, it is way better response that this more expensive car. any idea how to improve the response of this car?
The Front crash mitigation does not work (on my 2022 Audi Q3 with the Premium Plus Package including Pre-sense and Pre-sense Front crash and pedestrian mitigation). It does NOTHING to help you in the event of an upcoming crash! (Yes, I have it activated correctly.) I brought it back to the dealer and they said their "diagnostics" showed that everything was fine. After about 3 hours of arguing with the Salesman, the Service Manager, and the General Manager, their conclusion was that the Pre Sense and Pre Sense Front were only made to warn you and apply the brakes when you are A FEW INCHES away from whatever you are about to hit! The Subaru I traded in warned me at least 2 - 3 car lengths before and applied brakes at least 1 car length before. I set up rows of cheap Styrofoam ice chests in front of the car and tested the car at low speeds and higher speeds and my "warning" was a slight beep AFTER SMASHING THROUGH THE STYROFOAM (and the brakes never activated). Of course the dealer would not let me demonstrate this to them when I went back with the ice chests. I'm selling the POS and buying another Subaru.
I have the 2020 Q3 with the sports option, and I have the Homelink garage door opener as standard. You say that you don't have it, do you mean in other Audi models?
And you bought this car because? You don’t seem to really like it. Looks like you bought the cheapest model of the car, likely would have been better to buy the top trim CX5.
Many of those controls seem just like in my 2000 A2 (I left the States 30 years ago). But I have recently ordered a Q3 to replace my A2. I pick it up in a few days in Ingolstadt. Just wondering what I'm going to find to be not as cool as I would hope. Good insight here. Things for me to pass judgement on. But I am anxious to get to know my new car....
