I would avoid coming to the USA now. Recently in Honolulu, Hawaii... a young woman from China who is working as a teacher at a local school was viciously and unprovokedly attacked while walking around on a major street. She is in critical condition and cannot pay her hospital medical bills there. There is a "GoFundMe" drive going on to try and help her with the medical costs. Anyone can read the details about this incident in the local news there.

      Hope she gets well soon.
But I hope these GoFundMe types of campaigns get their money from within America rather than from China.
Otherwise if China has to pay the US say a million dollars for every person America bashes up, this would become a very very lucrative business model for the US.
Why do the Chinese have to choose the US? When are people going to wake up?

In these days and age, avoiding the US is the best thing to do, as an Asian who grew up in the West in the 70s, and travelled extensively and frequently to US, has never felt comfortable nor has any interest in going to US, in the 90s had to go to US every quarter for business meetings, even then never like it nor I feel safe being there. From what I have learnt, most Asian/Chinese “worship” US (the older version of US). There is a word in English called “patronising” not sure if there is an equivalent in Chinese, growing up, this word was introduced to me by my high school teacher (a white Australian). In my view it’s difficult to judge whether the white folks were patronising or genuinely nice.

Just bring civilized and to some extent they saw the abuse culminating in CA state legislative bill that is basically a punitive law for hate crime towards Asians.. The patronizing always exists even in China or outside of China... It is a friction driven by geopolitical tension. Be mindful when posting comments esp if it's just personal feelings. The world simply has learned to be an unfriendly distrustful place whether you like it or not. The intense worship of materialism is also the problem esp with youngsters

I agree with you. Living in Canada right next to the usa, we are not interested to visit the usa except to visit friends and relatives. Since a long time the usa border agency put their border customs inside Canada. So people have to go through usa customs inside Canada, and the usa customs officials are never friendly.
The problem Chinese people have is that they still have the belief Americans are nice and friendly but in fact whit folks are just patronizing.

It seems RUclips shadow ban me from commenting (Obviously truth is very dangerous) ... I can only reply (hopefully) on a post instead of creating a post. Here is what I wanted to write:
At the end of the day, if the US government has an anti-China stand and officially keeps re-affirming China as their enemy #1, back up with actual anti-China policies (from trade wars, tech wars, anti-China propaganda bills, forming allies to surround China, etc.). It really won't matter much with this kind of grass-roots exchange. It is a nice and heartfelt gesture, but it won't change the outcome. Most importantly, such anti-China policies and rhetoric are being echoed and magnified by all the major US-led western media (and alternative media), with all kinds of demonization of anti-China PR tactics to brainwash and indoctrinate the population. US history has shown the world the result of such actions back in the 19th and 20th centuries with their Chinese Exclusion Act and anti-China propaganda. That was the time when they mass murdered Chinese in the US in addition to creating a very unwelcoming environment for the Chinese and Chinese Americans in the US.

I am an Australian - and Australia is supposed to be a close friend of the U.S., sending our best young people to die in U.S. war adventures, and yet, when I was going through their immigration and border controls as a PAYING TOURIST, I was made to feel like an unwelcomed invader of their "precious" country. After more than 5 different visits on business and pleasure, I have sworn never to go back except in short business trips out of necessity but never for pleasure any longer. They are too polite and objective in their state media news reporting; they barely report most of the actual bad news that's happening in America. This results in a lot of mainland Chinese having blind spots for America. Anyone who follows American news knows it's not the paradise that people thought it'd be. In fact, more and more places are barely livable these days, unless you're rich. Today, America is a scary place to be, especially when you're Asian. It's high time for general public in USA to re-learn China, although it's politicians and vocal elites who need the most. China is not a Soviet style communist country, nor an evil empire that you need feel threatened. Unlike Europeans, folks in USA didn't have similar experience of equal and peaceful exchanges with Chinese civilization, which benefited European civilization in many ways, such as silk making, porcelain making, paper and printing technologies, not to mention gun power and compass. China fought hard against Japanese invasion, lost 30m lives (20m according to US Congress Library) in total, only got back Taiwan and several small islands in South China Sea. China repatriated the last batch of 400,000 Japanese army and settlers,.mostly peaceful without any large scale of revenge and killing, nor holding them to laber in mines and fields. Chinese villages even raised thousands of Japanese orphans, and returned them to Japan as growups in 80s. When comparing China with any other large nation,, people would see immediately China as a nation and as people, are peaceful with great humanity and splendid civilization and history.

Chinese settlers explored South East Asia regions centuries before Dutch, Portugal and Spain, didn't kill and colonize these places like Europeans, even as General Zhenghe' grand amarda passed nearby multiple times in Ming period, but blend in well with local tribe people. One example is Sri Lanka's Galle Trilingual Inscription stone tablet in 1409, erected by General Zhenghe. Another example is modern day Indonesia. After its independence from Dutch, its army and political elites instigated ethnic cleanings and genocides against Chinese settlers multiple times. Now, China help Indonesia with fund and build its HSR, first in South East Asia, which transported millions of passengers in a few short months, benefitting local economy in many ways.

The real reason why non Asians are hesitant to attend Chinese universities is Mandarin. The language is just too difficult. You will need HSK4 or better yet, HSK5 level of proficiency to do university level. This means at least 8,000 characters. They also must master pronunciation and 4 tones. Mandarin to HSK5 would take many years to learn for the average non Asian person with no previous exposure to Chinese characters etc. Languages are always harder to learn as adults. Most non Asians will begin to learn Chinese at high school.
Conversely, Asians will learn English when they are in middle school. I'm pretty sure all these students in this video were very fluent in English before they entered American university.
European languages are much easier than Mandarin and Asians are basically fluent in them by university age. I heard that Chinese universities will teach mandarin in prep courses before actual entrance while in China but no matter where it is taught, Mandarin will still be difficult if you have had no previous exposure. If you are in one of those Chinese univerity Mandarin prep courses, you do not have very long to learn Mandarin to HSK5 level. So you will have a very hard time.
Students that can get to HSK3 or HSK4 upon entering Chinese university will do better of course with those prep courses and within a year can advance to HSK5 to take real courses at the university. 🤔

This is not to make excuses for the US Customs Service. It is the case that the staff of the CS has to deal with lots of people who are trying to enter the USA under all sorts of pretexts, both legally and illegally. I can imagine that a CS official works by following a sort of algorithm when perusing through a travel document AND if there is something out of the ordinary, then the said official " punts" by directing the traveller to that " room" where the case can be resolved. A situation of CYA, so to speak, while the CS official processes all the others waiting to enter the land of the brave and the free. Of course, the Customs Service should have been alerted to this special circumstance BUT even if it was, there are cogs in the system that created the problem, so it seems. I am suggesting this explanation as I have dealt with this situation in the past. Despite this hassle, which I hope it can be avoided in the future, I am glad that the Chinese student guests had a positive experience after this initial booboo. The Americans with positive views of China are *NOT* representative of the average American.
From my experience of being an overseas Chinese brought up in the West, this positivity does NOT represent America.
As far as I can see, the average Americans hate China and dislike Chinese. So much so that China bashing will *ALWAYS* win votes in the US (and in most of the English speaking world)
But it is PRECISELY because of this that I think we should be thankful to those Americans who are willing to be friends.

It seems RUclips shadow banned my from commenting lol...

This reminds me of the Canadian border immigration behavior toward me and other Asian Americans which was disgusting, now its the US turns. The US officials at the border used to behave very friendly and professionally. These days they have been infected with these rude unprofessional people, same in msm and politics.

    Hi, Good luck 🤞
First as ive to notice: a rule says everyone who helps you, get the help (with cautiously sometimes),
2-how to trust? From the record, personlity. How is the personality made? From kind of thinkings, behaviors, and acts shape! Ok?
3-you want to get help from that one intro your country? Let me take an exmple: who says who is good and who is bad? Who says what is good and what is bad? Who defines?
Good people make interactions without prejudgment or maybe there is a mistake in thinking or experiences.
What is good? Everything what is not bad is good!
What defines the bad things and good things? It refere to where rhe conflict is began from.
Now lets negotiate like a modern chinese and iranian masters, deleting comments is rudeness! And rudeness begins a conflict everywhere in the world. And it also shows close borders like Americans.
We are Chinese and Iranians, lets discuss and do not make a rudeness again. Im ready to solve your country promblems as fast as it has never happened, how much have you made progress ever? What does it mean all?
Im so polite, peacefull and negotiateble! Ia there any mistake wirh my good records to take advantage into your country? I dont think so. This is the last time im sending a love message to not to make myself down and down more, you know? Here you are. You can delete it. Thank you🌺💌
