The league stays complicating everything. Just let the top 8 from each conference battle it out. You can literally be 8th seed but you're not considered the 8th seed. I guess it makes sense with where we are today.
you missed the point completely, its absolutely boring to watch the post season when teams play against teams that already secured a spot, this makes the battle for the top 6 seeds more competetive, and it gives teams seeded lower still something to fight for.
but hey, atleast you found a reason to shit on trans people
@@capslocked7274 The last sentence you wrote...that's the real reason why you addressed me. Anyway, teams work hard to secure their spot. Lower seeds battle to make it to the top 8. That's what they fight for. I think YOU missed the point. I believe the play-in is a way to add more games to be played to more seats can be sold. More money. It's the reason why they do everything these days. Ever see the All Star game in recent years? That's a money grab. People pay all of that to watch the best in the world not even try. But hey, I respect your views. Freedom of speech is a great thing.
Thank you so much! I needed this.
Glad it was helpful!
Single game elimination is gnarly for a tournament I think a best out of 3 back to back games for each matchup would be most fair.
whats the point of a tournament if you just get knocked out in 1 or 2 games. teams have off nights
Isn't a little unfair, that a 7th seed has to compete for a spot to be on the playoffs by being 7 games better than the 10th seed?
It might seem unfair, but it makes the postseason more competitive.
For the Western conference, it makes sense because they are always competitive and have 10 teams with winning records.
@thedude7567 as a Laker fan the pelicans kings and sun's schedule is very hard the pelicans is the hardest to me because they gotta play kings warriors Lakers and sun's it's gonna be very interesting to see I believe either the pelicans or kings gone fall down maybe
If the difference between 7th and 10th is less than 4 games there should be playin, otherwise special cases should be considered, even including up to the 6th place if things are pretty even between 6th and 10th.
Otherwise this will only foster even more mediocre regular seasons.
Its more exciting but the playin teams will get tired when playoffs start
It makes the nba more competitive and interesting. teams can no longer coast. I like the structure
Yeah!
Nope, then just play better in the regular season. This stupid idea of giving the 10th place team a chance while the 7th place team is 7 to 10 games ahead of that team is.. I don't even have a word for that lol.
If was better when eight teams in the both NBA Conference made it to NBA Playoffs, and the other teams where pretty much eliminated and just had to do better next season.
Lakers needs to match up with Denver and get em out first
Play in tournament was Silver’s way of keeping mediocre teams like the Lakers relevant. Lebron and Lakers would have been out of playoff last 3 yrs if not for play in. NBA playoffs mean nothing any more.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so stupid.
the 2023 lakers were 7th in the west, 2022 did not make the playoffs, 2021 were 7th and 2020 were 1st. the last 3 times the lakers made the playoffs they did not need the play in
@@King_Jollian he just wants to talk lol
Woke James rules
Is the play in tournament basically the same as the nfls wildcard?
No. In the NFL, the wild card round is part of the playoffs and the loser is always eliminated. In the NBA, the play-in is NOT part of the playoffs and the loser of the 7 vs 8 seed game gets another shot of getting in the playoffs by beating the winner of the 9 vs 10 seed game.
@jimmie_g thank you for the explanation. It sounds very convoluted. The nfl format seems like a better way to do it.
Can the NBA stop with all these ridiculous tournaments?
I find it silly that 2/3rds of the league have a shot at going to the playoffs
le playin ready to choke again
twice to beat po ba kings sa goldeb state
Play in? Bubble is over....NBA is a business so everyone still gets paid regardless.....
Flight, here is how the PLAY-IN works: ruclips.net/video/0waZa8PcVho/видео.html
Is it best of 7
no
@@Foreverking2009 then?
If you want to motivate bad performers, host a play out tournament and in the G League will host a play in. 😂
What? 😂😂😂 can’t this be easier?
It still boggles my brain that over half of the nba gets into the playoffs it just doesnt seem that impressive. 😊
If this was like the NFL and it was one win to advance, this would be ridiculous.
But the fact that it’s a 7 game series; the better team is always going to win out. At least this keeps fan bases throughout the country engaged late into the season.
@@codemonkey4509I wish all other sports followed the NFL playoff style with just 1 game each round. I hate seeing best of 5 and 7 series.
I agree @@codemonkey4509
@@rocklobster5074 I mean basketball and football are two different sports. The NBA plays 82 games so they can play a 7 game series. The NFL being as physical as it is cannot play back to back games like that.
@@codemonkey4509 Wouldn't say always, injuries happen and some teams are better against others.
So it's basically another chance for teams to make the 7th and 8th seed even if they have a losing record. Seems like a participation trophy kind of thing.
NBA went from tradition to wokeness after woke James won the bubble title 2020
Comments acting like teams 1-10 in the west aren't only like 10 games apart lmao. I think it's a good idea, then you get teams like the heat beating Boston and I love that
I think this is so stupid, so the 7th place team might not make the playoffs. Cause they lost a few games in this ridiculous play-in stupidity, I had to hold back on the cursing I was doing while typing.
7vs10 and 9vs8 would be more fair Because seventh place won the most games and 10 plays one the least games
With one game each?
I don’t agree with that. What if a 10 seed beat a 7 seed. Then they would get into the playoffs after one game. It needs to be difficult for a 10 seed to make it in
@@adimajumdar5219 the seven seed is more difficult than beating the 9th
@@tonychesssnutsss1404 But it can still happen. It’s one game. Upsets happen all the time
not really, because the loser of 7vs8 still gets another shot against the winner of 9vs10. If it was all sudden death, then your point would be valid.
