Especially with Glass Cauldron, since you can put it on one and just keep refreshing it every use. Every die is a freeze. Although, there is 14:17. The Wizard got counterspelled on five, and then the freeze changed it to a one, but it didn’t get unlocked. Maybe freeze + counterspell isn’t a thing.

Counterspell locks the die if it is a specific number at any point, so if a five is frozen into a one and you counter fives, it will lock before the freeze is applied. However, if you counter ones, it will lock the die after the freeze is applied.
Due to the luck of the draw leading to Scathach aka Miss Hard-Counters Freeze & Lock being this run's boss, going all-in on the Dice-Stonks engine ended up being the correct play.
Imagine having a battle with someone, watching them cast like 30 spells and barely fight back, then just being absolutely barraged by them throwing 53 dice at you
The Witch is the hardest character in the game, by a LONG shot. I had completed the absolute hardest thing in the game with every other character before even being able to complete the EASIER version of that thing with the Witch.

I only really dislike robot and inventor probably because they can just make you lose things, but the witch isn't my favourite either simply because she's the hardest character

The real problem with the Witch is that a good chunk of her first turn is spent setting up the rest of her turns, which isn't the case for any other character. As a result, she is inherently slow. This is a problem once you get to the Elimination Round and enemies start getting upgraded equipment to kill you faster. And the Hard Mode Bonus Round... oh don't even get me STARTED on the Hard Mode Bonus Round...

The 2nd 3rd of the episode felt so weird because I could see so much near infinite play from turns 1 and 2 growing more exponentially than Tyler seems to have noticed. Glad he still made it crazy at the end!
@@tinytroll1005 There were certain things like duping a 5, then getting another dupe using the 5 to dupe another for an infinite 5 loop. However, the main actually useful thing was just having multiple prepared dupes and halls for an insane amount of dice.
Yo Tyler long time watcher, I love this game and one of the most fun and interesting challenge in the game is in the Halloween special episodes but more specifically the witch episode. I would love to watch you destroy that game mode.
incredible how it turned out perfect that each five could duplicate a 1 for a total of doubling all your ones, and then you had a perfect number of 2s and 6s to trigger it exponentially more times. each turn you'd gain 2x as many dice as whichever number you had the least of, if my math serves me right, that'd be 16 or 18 more dice next turn, and only more insane each time
I've been trying to get all achievements in this game for a while, since those are all bound to the challenges (not episodes) in the game. There are some really hard ones like getting a max hp of 64 or dealing 30 poison to an enemy in one turn. I hope Tyler tries to do some of those as well. also, Id love to see a Mana build with the witch.
@@aguyontheinternet8436 way to get max hp is the thief equipment that lets you gain max hp if you finish off the enemy with a very weak attack. Mana is uh... kinda a parallel universe gimmick of the witch which completely changes up equipment
ngl tyler committing to a freeze build scared me exactly because I knew scathtch exists and is immune to it. I always either do a double element build or just pure damage because of how many bosses benefit from one type of element or another. like how buster is strong against fire but scathach is immune to freeze, so usually I do freeze-weaken builds or just go into poison because the only boss that doesn't immediately die to massive poison stacking is drake and yet the poison keeps him low enough that you can eventually get the wooden stake down and his hp would be in range without worrying

Fun fact: The boss this time was the Irish trainer of heroes, queen of the land of shadows. Her name is pronounced roughly "Sca-hawk" (gotta love Irish pronunciation) and that spear she's holding is probably the Gae Bolg, a spear which when thrown from between the toes while standing in a stream will erupt into many barbs after piercing someone, killing them instantly and needing to be surgically removed from them.
I had a strat to use a spell that when upgraded gives 4 dices but their all burn Then replace it and get a lot of burning dices and the special thing is that burning dices do more damage to the enemy when trown
I'd love to see a witch run with duplicate and the one that increases damage for every dice rolled. If this is possible it seems like you can have infinite damage as long as you have 2 of the initial dice to get the duplicate.
Witch sure sounds super fun when her version of Hall of mirrors says (+1 dice this battle) while Wizard (the enemy) is crying that his Hall of Mirrors adds 1 dice only for his next turn.

That's an interesting idea for a Scathach boss fight, she's a mythical irish hero. (Although technically I think her apprentice is the one with the magic spear she's holding.)

I took a look at the game on steam a while ago and saw the witch wasn't well liked, despite thinking Tyler def would like her

Honestly, I love building long combos in these games, that last kill was absolutely beautiful. Power defect comes to mind.
