Sadie having her own little art piece brought me.... a surprising amount of joy on this somewhat gloomy morning. Thank you! Also, your hair looks absolutely fantastic!
I know this might sound like a strange comment, but I’m so glad you did this tour. Ever since you moved your filming space, I have wondered where you were in your apartment. It has bothered me that I couldn’t figure it out. I have no idea why it bothered me, but this will soothe my mind since I’ll now know where you are in your loft when you film. I know! It’s a strange thing to wonder. But I’m now satisfied. Plus, your home is amazing & I really enjoy your style.
I loved this. It reminded me of one of our first apartments 20 years ago. It was in a 100 year old building and the solutions we created to make it work was what gave it it’s charm. We found the greatest mid-century modern sofa and a Haywood Wakefield dining set in a shop called The Garage and they’re still my all time favorite pieces. My family is on day 15 of our quarantine with 5 kids aged 12-16 (so basically the opposite of your and Joe’s experience). We were exposed to the first person diagnosed in our state and have continued on to protect the health of my 16 year old daughter who is a multi-organ transplant recipient. Our 3 dogs think it’s the best thing ever to have all their people home at once, the kids less so. I’m stealing little moments for myself. Thanks for the extra content!
Aw, sounds like you guys are doing great! we can't tell if Sadie is happy about it or not. She likes being with us but I think she also wishes she could have some alone time, LOL
'We have an indulgent number of towels for a household of two.' My shocked reaction to that statement suggests it may be time to whittle down my own towel collection😆 That was a reality check. Your appartment is lovely. The spaces are well thought out and your personal sense of style really come through. Your chair!😍 Such a cosy corner. I sometimes wonder how it must be to live in a place like Los Angeles, so it was nice to see a little bit of it outside the window♥️ It is always interesting to see how other people live and i appreciate you allowing us a peek behind the curtain as such, complete with Joe and Sadie cameos. Yay!
Aww, Sadie the end... she was really tracking the bird outside. Your apartment has such a nice vibe, and it’s cozy and welcoming at the same time. Your plant that you rescued reminded me, last year I rescued some lily plants that people threw out after Easter. I took them and planted the bulbs and yesterday, I saw they are above the ground and growing! A beautiful plant is definitely not trash to me!
Oh, Hannah, thank you so much for this fun & interesting video during our collective lockdown! You are a true light in so many lives, especially right now! Your space is so amazing & cool! Your style is an inspiration to me!
Could we get a book tour? Not necessarily you saying every single book you own, but more of an overview of what you have and how they are grouped. I am always fascinated by what books people own, and you especially
I love that you use the word "sheltering" to describe what we're doing. I hadn't heard that before. It's really calming compared to quarantine or lockdown and it's changed my perspective a little. Thank you x
Miss Sadie is livin' large and is Queen of the House. Love the eclectic vibe of your little casita. Good use of your space. Looking forward to a tour of your art gallery.
Loved this! Your style is so fun and inspiring. Love the boho, eclectic aesthetic. That’s mine as well, except mine is quite neutral. All about those textures and patterns!
Hannah, you have such a beautiful house!! I love how you bring together so many super quirky little pieces (Sadie's persimmon art MELTED my hEART). I hope one day I can have such a beautiful, curated space - I'm still at the stage of my 20s where most of my furniture either came with my room or I found on the street.
I LOVE that Sadie has her own piece of art that’s at her eye level 🙌😂💗 and I love your couch so much, always have. Did you get they at a thrift store? It seems way too nice. I really just love the entire effect of the baskets, plants, and rugs. I even like that the rug in the living room in sort of thread bare. It adds something, you know? Does it bug you to have the light rings always up, or have you gotten used to it? You know you’re a real RUclipsr when that stuff doesn’t even register as clutter anymore 😊 Thanks for sharing the apt with us. It was such a treat 😍😍😍
thanks for watching, Rachel! The couch IS from a secondhand furniture store in Michigan, we bought it for the incredible price of $100. it's originally by Crate and Barrel, which is why it's so pretty, but it was well-loved when we bought it. A bit squashed, and there's a huge faded spot on the back that's currently covered with the pink wool blanket. Works for us, though!
Ooh!! I thought I was the only dork with kitty art! Our cats have a 70s painted tile with a mouse that’s holding out from the rain under a mushroom at their water bowl. I like to think that the cats appreciate it. I mean who wouldn’t.
I am a serial disliker of most studio apartments, but I actually love this one! Well done, this place looks so modern while also being eccentric and cozy.
I have been hoping you would do a home tour!! I love your place! The light... the plants...the high ceilings...that kitchen! I downsized SIGNIFICANTLY a couple years ago...I’m into the simplicity...though not quite minimalism...of small space living.
Love Love Love your place! I love all of the cool lamps, someday I would love to share the funniest story about my husband thinking “I” have too many lamps. I love lamps, rugs, and plants and your place is adorable and so much possibility to re-vamp at anytime. Thank you so very much for letting us in and I cannot wait for an art tour and maybe a plant tour. So funny, Daisy, our dog, has a piece of art by her eating area. Even though this is such a troubling time, you are bringing us JOY! Big hugs Hannah, Joe and Sadie!!
Did I miss it? Where is Sadie's litter box ? That is one of the most difficult items to make blend in for us. Also - do you guys have separate blankets? My husband's been asking for that cuz I am admittedly a terrible bed sharer. Thanks for a very entertaining and distracting video! My house is HUGE so none of the same space issues but it still gets cluttered and this is motivating me to get organized and pare down the "stuff".
DARN I even told myself not to forget to show it, and then I forgot. It's under the big wooden shelving unit in the bathroom. We placed the lowest shelf pretty high so that there's space for it. We have a top-entry box so it doesn't look too offensive, just kind of like a big tupperware with a hole in the top. I think the brand is "Clevrcat"
@@HannahLouisePoston I was also wondering about her litter box! That is something I found challenging to place in a 500 sq ft apartment. I found the solution in a top-entry box too!
Thanks for all your time and effort putting out these videos. Your apartment is very homey and comfortable looking. You’re always so calm and relaxing, which i really need right now. Don’t we all? Sadie is the cutest. Reminds me of my fur baby Mookie. I need to get her one of those window seats. ❤️
Hannah, I loved the tour- your home is warm and beautiful. My favorite spot is the perfume & tarot surface, as well as Sadie’s corner. Can’t wait for the art tour! Thank you for the videos!
Thanks fo4 the tour! I love watching studio apartment and tin6 house tours.. I just love houses! I lived in a one bedroom apartment alone for 3 years after college and really enjoyed it... but I did realize that I desperately want an outdoor space (patio or balcony, etc) for my next apartment...
Thank you so very much for this interesting tour of your apartment. I absolutely love seeing how other people live. Especially like the concrete wall...🤎🧡
Sadie has the same scratching post as Haruki and Iris (my cats, not celebrities as their no-surname names would suggest). It's so sturdy. I love that you have Intermission and Disaster oracle/tarot cards face up next to your fragrance tray right now 💖Thank you for sharing your lovely, peculiar space with us. I'm so looking forward to the art tour!
Such a dream home! I miss having my own place and being surrounded by my own stuff (been staying abroad with my grandma for about 10 weeks now and sheesh... especially since every single thing in this woman's home is ugly. I tortures me, my soul thrives in beautiful surroundings but here I feel like I'm withering away... this kind of content helps)
Hannah yesssss! I love this. We rent a small house that has two stories, but it’s an extraordinarily strange space. It was basically a DIY project completed in the 50s by our landlord’s grandfather in the backyard of his own property. I like to describe it as though it’s a house built by a person who had *heard* about houses but had never seen one before.. every room is so deeply weird. So home tours of true houses are almost never helpful for me, I need to see studios for inspiration on how to divide up funny long skinny rooms! As a serial furniture rearranger I’m on tenterhooks to see how you shake things up. It’ll be a miracle if I don’t end up moving anything around in our place.
You have sooo few towels! In my household of two I think we have at least 5x the number. And it's not a situation of changing one after every use, we use the same ones for 5-7 days. Btw I'm not saying either amount is better or worse, I was just surprised by the difference, especially hearing you comment that it's a lofty amount :D
there's a couple that we're friends with and they only have one towel each! They just wash their two towels once a week! I was amazed when I discovered that. We did declutter some scratchy and non-matching towels when we moved from Michigan...they seem to collect somehow.
What a nice little apartment. There is a place for everything and everything in it's place. I lived in a one bedroom with a den for thirty years in Norfolk and by the time I left, I had three truck loads. It didn't help that I got my teaching degree while living there and had collected children's books up the ying yang and had collected paperback literature books. I went "booking" almost every Saturday. I was a clothes horse as well. Now it is all in the garage. Lord help! How many floors up are you? Let us know the next time you give a tour. Happy Cocooning!
Hannah thank you so very much for sharing such an intimate and personal corner of your life with us. My favorite corners were your cat's corner with her little art work on her wall (she's beautiful by the way) and that beautiful little stool (a gorgeous piece) with the plant on it. Hugs and kisses from Paris xoxo
I adore your space. Our family lives in a space that is small for us, though I love it. I enjoyed seeing your creative storage solutions. Also your lamps! My grandmother collects funky lamps and has passed down some cool ones over the years. And yes please to your art collection. ❤️
How fun to see your space! I know you mentioned an art tour, but what I would also love to see is a video about your plants. I am just starting to get into getting some plants, so it would be so informative to see what you have and how you take care of it :).
What a beautiful, beautiful space!!!! I love that doll with horns from the first time I saw it. And that big window with the plants and Sadie, omg... I am to minimal... I see cute things but I don't buy them or declutter them again... But than I see your cosy appartement and think : Damn...
700 square feet sounds like a lot to this 400 square foot dweller. My studio is pretty tiny but with the furniture choices I've made I feel like it's much larger. It also has a detached kitchen and a fairly sizable bathroom, so the living/sleeping space is closer to 300 square feet. It works very well for one person and I feel like it is so much easier to put tons of personality and charm into a small space than the larger multi bedroom apartments I've lived in
I once stayed at a place that had a squatty potty. I thought it was a device for a child or small person to climb up to the seat and pushed it aside each time I used the loo-even though I love using an actual squat toilet. Now I want one!
Beyond jealous that Sadie allows you to have so many plants! My kitty loves to dig at my plants, pull up the roots and chew on them, killing everything I've ever tried to bring in. I've tried so many deterrents, and nothing works. Only hanging pots are safe.
Thanks for the tour! I'm also in the process of rearranging my space to accommodate working from home. We dont have a shelter-in-place order here yet, but I think it's coming soon and I've switched to telecommuting this past week. I'm interested to see what you come up with. ❤
there are a lot of old industrial buildings in DTLA that have been turned into lofts like this. DTLA is still not even close to being the most popular part of LA to live, so we really lucked out!
This motivated me to clean and organize my tiny space so thank you Hannah! I love your videos so much! I also can't wait to see your art tour! I would love a link for your linen bedding as well, it looks so luxurious. Your home is beautiful
Sadie's art is so cute. I think you have a really nice bathroom and kitchen set up for such a small apartment. Ot probably makes living there a much nicer experience than it would be if they were smaller spaces.
You have such a lovely home. I am obsessed with the style of wood furniture you have in your living room (I have similar pieces in mine) and it has such a hygge feel. I can mentally transport myself to the chair and imagine myself writing. It is in all respects a room of one's own in that corner.
I'm especially hoping it will feel like that while we're quarantined together! I have to build a room of my own in the mind...since the actual room is shared, LOL
Hannah Louise Poston I’m sure Virginia Woolf would understand. It’s not like Shakespeare’s sister has giant noise cancelling headphones. Because if she did, think of the course of British literature! I don’t actually find one room improves the quality of my inner life, but one can hardly say “darling please take a health improving and social distancing walk alone in the virus ridden city.” Although if you make your cat suggest such things (as mine do), it might work. Our shelter in place officially starts tomorrow and lasts at least a month. This is going to be a social experiment to say the least!
This lovely tour has inspired me to put up the prints and art we still have sitting around in various parts of our home. I hope the re-arrangement goes ok and you guys are able to set up space that will suit you for the coming weeks/months. Much love to you three. (OMG Sadie 😍)
@@HannahLouisePoston just finished the video and your flat is amazing! I loved all the whimsical details ❤️ looking forward to seeing more of it in the coming videos
I loved this tour - I love your artsy interior style, and I am a fan of open shelving units ^^. We too live in a small flat and you've given me some ideas to make it more homely and aligned to my style
I love your little place! I live in a very small space too (helps me to constantly declutter and stay as minimal as possible!). I even have a cat that looks like Sadie (Tigress her name) 💓😸
You really make good use of your space. I love the abundance of natural light. Love seeing Miss Sadie 🐱 I am going to have the smallest patio at my new place. I ordered a foldable bistro set that I can bring out and store easily. Might be an option for you when you want a small table to eat on or do other do projects. 🐱
I had a great studio apartment for a year, it was huge, the top floor of an old warehouse, with brick walls and exposed beams, a separate kitchen, a big laundry closet and a walk-in in the bedroom. If I’d stayed longer, I could have done a lot with it, but the landlord was greedy and even though I was a good tenant, they automatically raised the rent, which was already high...so I left. But it was a cool place, nicer than most of the regular apartments I lived in over the years.
Thank you for showing your home! I love it! Sadie's art piece is beautiful! So looking forward to your art tour as I love all of the art I see on your channel. It's just my husband and I in our new home so we are trying to find a place for everything (we were surprised by how much art we actually had). Looking forward to more of your at home content! Would love a books I read i 2019 or a my favourite books video if you felt inspired! 😊
Thanks for letting us into your space! I'd love to bring some cake next time. Oh: and so looking forward to your art collection video!! ps. as someone else wrote: your comment about the amount of towels you have shocked me as well. maybe it's time for me to say goodbye to a few of them... and bed linen as well. oh my.
How funnnnn! I loved seeing your place. It’s very Hannah and Joe. I can dig the vibes even through the screen. I love the idea for the art tour. I would also love a video of how you and Joe keep from throttling each other while stuck in a small space together. I know with you both being introverts being constantly around another human hours on end might drive you bonkers. (Because I’m definitely 9 snow days in and need a break from my other half 😂)
I was thinking you had a very minimalist tool collection 😆 I have way more. I couldn't have an unmade bed. It gives me anxiety 🙃 I like to walk into my bedroom and see my bed made. My partner even does the pillows and the way I like too now so guess its our thing 😆
Question: when I moved to the West Coast, I was told not to put art/pictures above the bed because they could fall on your head/face during a nighttime earthquake. How do you find it living in an earthquake zone? (Not saying you’re doing anything wrong, just curious)
Personally, I would move all of the books you have on the white bookcase and maybe even some off the other metal shelving you have by the bathroom, but definitely all from white bookshelf, on to the metal rack where your clothes are currently housed. I’d put that metal rack with every book on it behind the couch (move the couch back to just leave enough space for the metal rack). You may be able to do a double row of books on each shelf of the rack, and show some of the titles toward the office and some towards the living room. This would do 3 things, give you a more cohesive library section and be a natural divider of your workspace and the living area and give you your living room space back. You’ll need some of those metal L bookends so the books don’t topple but I thing you can order on amazon. I can leave link in an IG message. If you by chance have room on the metal library rack, leave that typewriter on the bottom shelf out of sight. I’d then get really anal about your folding skills and refold all your clothes that were previously on the black metal rack that is now the library, and fit them into the white book shelf. I mean NEAT (see Marie Kondo). Move clothes rack next to your built-in where record player is and next to that your Ikea bin, desk for your guy and then your VERY neatly folded bookcase and then mirror. I think you’ll be happy with how all that feels and looks. I might even think about getting rid of one of those coffee tables. If you moved the square coffee table to the living room and got rid of the broken one, you could put your man’s desk where square coffee is now and really make that wall just clothing and open up that narrow hall corner. But definitely those books need to be moved off that bookcase there are way too many to store there. I can send you a drawing if you’d like. Thank you.
I love that Saddie has her own art😁 that gas stove im soooo envious of! One thing i didnt see but am so curious about....where is Saddies litter box? Thats always such a hard item for me to find a place for.
Random question...where do you keep the litter box? We have a much larger place to live in but no basement which is where I grew up keeping a litter box and couldn’t think of an aesthetically pleasing place to put one here. 😅

I live alone and i have a lot more towels. A lot. I never realised that that’s considered a lot.
I love the fact that Sadie has her own art T T. I agree with you, I think that plant hanging from the pipe looks great there. :D
The livingroom is soooo BEAUTIFUL
Thanks for the tour! I'm also in the process of rearranging my space to accommodate working from home. We dont have a shelter-in-place order here yet, but I think it's coming soon and I've switched to telecommuting this past week. I'm interested to see what you come up with. ❤
me too! we aren't quite sure yet which route we will go.
Lovely to see Sadie enjoying her perch!
As someone in nyc, that studio is HUGE. I have serious apartment envy.
there are a lot of old industrial buildings in DTLA that have been turned into lofts like this. DTLA is still not even close to being the most popular part of LA to live, so we really lucked out!
Your place looks so cozy. I like that it’s minimal but everything isn’t just white and grey like every other minimal apartment 😭
I love these videos! Your space is so fun and cozy! Thank you for sharing with all of us♥️
The plant from the pipes , so gorgeous
This motivated me to clean and organize my tiny space so thank you Hannah! I love your videos so much! I also can't wait to see your art tour! I would love a link for your linen bedding as well, it looks so luxurious. Your home is beautiful
I am *very* excited about the art tour!!
me too! I can't wait to film it!
I loved seeing your home. I have a studio home as well. You're place looks like an article from a magazine, so stylish.
Hannah, that stove is amazing. I enjoyed this tour, thank you for sharing something so personal with all of us.
Sadie's art is so cute.
I think you have a really nice bathroom and kitchen set up for such a small apartment. Ot probably makes living there a much nicer experience than it would be if they were smaller spaces.
love your taste in fabrics and furniture and decorating! lovely flat!
That's a lovely apartment! I enjoyed that very much, and looking forward to the post-rearrangement video and the art video!
I love your lamps so much!
You have the most incredible studio apt ever. I love it 💕. Your taste in decor is impeccable & very welcoming.
I am so excited for this video 😍 thank you so much for posting it! It's an amazing distraction!
yay, thanks for watching!
@@HannahLouisePoston just finished the video and your flat is amazing! I loved all the whimsical details ❤️ looking forward to seeing more of it in the coming videos
So cosey and warm ! Thank you Hannah: it's very heartwarming to spend some time with you in your space. I needed that. Stay safe
Sadie in the thumbnail is a stroke of genius.
I even have a cat that looks like Sadie (Tigress her name) 💓😸
can you make a video about giving up sugar?
You really make good use of your space. I love the abundance of natural light. Love seeing Miss Sadie 🐱
I am going to have the smallest patio at my new place.
Sadie makes me miss all my cats! 😿 she’s adorable and makes me want another cat. Love all your plants. I love how eclectic your apartment is!
Thank you for continuing to produce content. It's a great way to help me to distract my thoughts that worry me. Please keep it up. Stay safe
You make such good use of your space! Loved this
I think your apartment is marvelous! I'd move in in a heartbeat!
Thanks for letting us into your space! I'd love to bring some cake next time.
Oh: and so looking forward to your art collection video!!
ps. as someone else wrote: your comment about the amount of towels you have shocked me as well. maybe it's time for me to say goodbye to a few of them... and bed linen as well. oh my.
The Sadie fanclub is growing
Loved this! Sadie is so cute ☺️ May I ask about the black and white bowls you had by the kitchen? They’re beautiful 💕
Sadies little art got me 🥺
I love you Hannah, but Sadie is the best part of everything 😘❤
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home
I love your style and pops of color. I do the same with red. Just enough that it doesn’t overwhelm our small home. 💕💕
:)
Oh my gosh. I have that little elephant watering can! Super cool.
it's a good one!
Can’t wait for the art tour!
Lora Dow That was my first thought too. The hazards of having a California brain. :)
Love your chair area. 🌛
Thank you.
This is gonna be so useful because we are using this time to clean and reorganize! Trying not to buy any new furniture. Thank you Hannah!
Thank you ! You have a great home !
thanks!
