Hey Devin, it's the guy with the AMG! I raced you 4 times and won each one, including one where I let you start first. Sorry my car is faster than yours. I will meet you anytime for a quarter mile race. I used to race Stock cars and Moto-cross. When you race you have to be good enough to miss objects and cars. Sorry about your car hitting the board that I missed.
And on the race up the hill, I slowed down to 20 mph before hitting the gas. You were right on my bumper to start. Cam shows how far I was ahead of you when I clipped the corner of the board. If you passed me and went ahead then it wouldn't have happened. I also was around 110 mph and there was a truck in right lane. I had to stay in left or would have hit him. If you were closer to me up hill board would have missed you. Reason why I'm replying is you have it all 1 sided. Again I'm sorry your car got hit, buy you chose to race 3 times......

That gap was getting bigger even before you miss shifted. Freeway is the last place you want to race a modded e55.

I agree. OP even knows the approx whp of the AMG. For the Evo to "win", he'd need a winding course where cornering becomes a bigger factor. The AMG will win in a straight-away pull.
Also, the shifting grinding, long before the highway on-ramp, omg, imagine the damage to the transmission & clutch ...
That's the sound of a bent valve due to the fact that you keep missing shifts and over revving the car smh .

The front end is not smashed, that looked like a rubber mat definitely not plywood, the bad driving miss shift probably is what threw the engine off, and that amg looked considerably faster. Not hating just you make yourself look stupid, yes I know no one asked me to watch the channel hahaha.

It’s a E55 AMG, 5.4l Supercharged V8. They make chassis twisting torque numbers. If he’s making 680whp he has fbo, very small pulley, wrap kit, flex fuel, long tubes, ice box, meth, fbo, eurocharged tune ect ect. Probably makes 680whp and probably 750wtq
Even still, he wouldnt make that power.. lol i know because you described my setup, i even did throttle body, intake, crank pulley, injectors, and much much more. To get to 680whp you have to have a bigger blower or spray. With the blower maxed out youl be around 600whp. I had mine ported and currently setting up for spray.

Due to weight and gearing of the amg could be a possible reason why you could’ve potentially kept up for a bit but the 680whp in the amg really begins to make sense after 130mph because it will keep accelerating the same way until close to 200mph, that’s just how they were designed. The evo’s short gearing gives it a burst of power from a dig or low speed to a little after 100mph but after that, it’s pretty much done in a race like that, I would do a 4.1 final drive in that thing and let her rip at high speed if that’s what you desire
Meanwhile the E55 drove home with no issues. 600whp on an E55 is childs play and uber reliable on their robust and simple drivetrains versus 500whp on our cars which will always create a liability issue somewhere. Sad but true. Owned an X; Now own an E55 lol.

Edit: Also, the 4B11 has many weaknesses, what mods do you have done to your head and block. Remember always OVER BUILD and never push the duty cycle of your internals past 80% (which would be determined by the mods, lubes, temperature management, and materials you're using for internals)

@@7eamGhast honestly this post is misinformation. The 4b11 is a very strong motor. My evo x was tuned on e85 at 400 torque with 750 on the odometer. Bigger turbo at 15k Miles putting 590 to the wheels and 440 torque, stock internals, stock clutch, stock trans. The tune and the driver decide how fast engines fail.
Edit: I'm at 28k miles now, so 13k at 590 awhp /440tq. The turbo is a gtx3576r and e85 with 2000cc injectors. The engine has never been opened, all factory, down to the head gasket. The only issues I've ever had was the wastegate getting stuck open, which was a piece of the turbo that failed, and was a 1 hour 50 dollar fix, and the only other issues I've come across were the maf sensor and 02 sensors going bad. Other than that I service my car religiously and drive it smart and therefore the engine is still fully functioning with lots of pulls.
PureGoldFG2 difference in opinion based on experience I guess, my personal experience is witnessing many 4B11's can't handle abuse without a built.
In Texas we mostly track our cars or keep them in redline when racing.
But again, I can only speak to my personal experience.
@@7eamGhast how well a motor handles power isnt based on opinion... it's based on facts. If you look at the amount of engine failures of the 4b11 stock versus any other comparable motors at the same power level (k series hondas, the horizontally opposed Subaru motors, etc) you will see in stock configurations the 4b11 performs way above average. Compared to the nasioc forums showing ringland failure on subies with just bolt ons. I'm not being biased and hating on subies by the way, these are just facts. I actually almost bought an sti a few times, so I'm not one of those evo vs sti guys. I like cars in general.
Edit: that being said, this doesnt mean every engine will last as long as mine at the same power, because like I said driver and tune come into play. Regardless of power level, if you have a driver that beats the shit out of the engine, it will fail even un modified.

check your intercooler piping with fmic and a board flipping up like that it's possible to have a tear in one of your piping couplers.
The lower intercooler pipe is right where the board hit on the bumper.

Same thing happened to my X, I miss shifted and it did the same exact thing and sounded like a Subaru. Turned out I bent a valve.

I don't know shit about evos lol, but I'd assume that the board pushed in the bumper which in turn crushed something in the intercooler piping
Check the trimming chain... I over reved and I skipped a link... the stock tensioner will bite you in the A**. I change mine out every 25k miles.

I dont think that e55 has 680whp, its more like crank hp. Even with a weistec blower its hard to get to that.
I agree. I have a renntech tune with BO supporting mods-- headers, pulleys, heat exchangers, exhaust, 77mm supercharger pulley, upgraded water pump-- and only make 520 whp on Mustang dyno. To make close to 680whp I'd need a weistec blower and some internal engine work, a very expensive project. However, I'm glad with my only 520whp since I can tap into that every day reliably without worrying much about the engine.

No way he has 680whp.. I have one with 600whp and no 500whp car unless light af is staying close. Why? Not because of HP, but because of Torque. They way the modified e55s make their power, they will have 600whp but 700lb ft of tq. E55s are torque monsters. Their downfall is that they weigh 4,000 lbs. Thats why lower hp cars are able to stay in the picture. BUT I will say though, what was a close race at 40-100mph would not be as close after 100mph. He would have probably put a few cars between yall. To put the e55s power into perspective, There is a video on youtube of 2 e55s racing a slightly modded hellcat. Both e55s had 530whp on different setups. One of the e55s started reeling in the hellcat after 100mph. If he truly had 680whp, That e55 would be GONE. His torque numbers would be over 750.

I had a full sheet of plywood smack my front end on the freeway and completely fucked my STI’s bumper, headlight and fender up. Hopefully its nothing to bad on your car man. Good luck with it.

Shocking shifting...
Check and make sure your at correct vacuum. I had a coupler on IC line that was loose and had a slights gap and wasn't at correct vacuum and same thing with it breaking up at about 3k. It also threw misfire code and sounded like misfire or bad plug. This was on a subie. But hope that may help you track it down if haven't yet.

It sounds like a misfire. Hopefully u just need to change the plugs . My boy hit off the limiter n his car sounded a lil like that, n it turned out that the gap on the plugs closed. Better that then bent valves..gl👍

Had the same thing happen in my N55 BMW and it ended up being the spark plug shit the bed and misfired in one of cylinders. Sounded like a beat wrx lol

Looks like a s55 kompressor. I own a 2003 it makes 500hp stock. Supercharged 5.4L. The thing is a boat. So yea I’m not surprised that even if it is 680hp you can still keep up.

I have had this subaru sound on my genesis coupe though, sounded exactly like subaru rumble but it was a spark plug that was gone. Not sure what it would be in your case

Shift lockout. Causes : bad shift cables, clutch pedal adjustment, worn friction rings. If you can't shift quick the Evo loses it's steam.
One of my fav characteristics of the evo. It's so happy in high rpms when you're throwing it from gear to gear. Cant even call it banging gears bc its buttery smooth

If the AMG is really 680whp there is absolutely no way that you can be neck and neck in a 4wd 500 car from rolling start. Impossible.
