Thanks to your clear and concise video here I just managed to change the battery of my Silk Epil 7🎺😀 It is charging right now, with a flashing green light.
There is some VERY important issues when changing battery on the Epilator. When the Epilator is dismantled pay VERY GOOD attention of the polarity of the battery BEFORE you remove it from the Epilator. There is no polarity markings on the battery case, feel free to make a mark. The negative polarity towards the charging connector and the + positive polarity towards the chaving head. If you put in the battery reverse position, the Epilator will be DESTROYED and go up in smoke !!!. DO NOT DO THAT !!! Another thing is that the new battery must be discharged to 3volt before installation, for the electronics to reset to the correct empty battery level. After the assembly of the Epilator will not work before the charger has been connected, charged and disconnected. Good Luck.
@@cyclepil ,yes indeed, but to succeed with the diy bit was an even bigger achievement for me…I am not very good with tasks like that…therefore happy to have learned something useful and practical, thank you again!
Thank you this helped a lot! Wasn’t sure how it opened up after removing the tork screws. I noticed some yellow grease around the button area. Do you know what grease to get as replacement please? Also, should I use the same grease on the cogs on the top section? Many thanks again!
Hello. I was going to replace the battery and disassembled the epilator. Took the battery out and put it back in but it didn’t work. I thought maybe I got the battery polarity wrong, so put it in the other way round and a bit of smoke came out from somewhere on the circuit board. Nothing looks damaged visually. Any idea what this could have been?
Sadly the board must be severely damaged as the battery has been putted sideways. As the battery seems to be bronken, my best advice would be that you replace the whole body of the epilator.
My epilator gives a red light with new battery, I took the battery out and put the old one, now it use only one speed instead of two. What can that be?
Hi I've got the Silk Epil Braun 9. While I was using it the light turned red and after some while it stopped to work and the light started to flash in the green colour. Now it is impossible to make it work again. Even if it is not attached to the electric power, it continues to flash. Do you think it could be a battery problem? Thank you for your help.
@@ilarialucarini1561 The most likely reason is that the battery has run out of power because it has used up all its stored chemical energy. Replacing it will make the epilator functional again. Don't forget to clean the inside of the head too. Clogged gears drain the battery faster. (Tutorial on the channel)

Thanks soooooo much! Even I managed to get it changed and reassembled with the guidance of your video! a few minutes and it’s done…
So glad this could help ! What was the epilator model ?
@@cyclepil it also was a silk epil 7
Great! Congratulations on your repair. It must be nice not having to buy a new epilator ! If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Thanks. €5 for a new battery rather than €90 for a new Braun!
Very happy to hear that. Did you manage to change the battery ?
Hi! Where did you get the battery from?

Worked perfectly thanks
Always a pleasure to see that the video helped someone, thanks for commenting
Was it the first time you repaired your device ?
@cyclepil it actually was, at least by myself
Thank you, that was very helpful

Use Silicon grease.
Hello ! To our knowledge, there shouldn't be any grease around the button area. It's likely just residue accumulated from regular usage.
Merci beaucoup !!
Avec plaisir, vous avez pu changer la batterie sans soucis ?
@@cyclepil Oui, easy en suivant votre exemple 👌

This is common, it is the central button that is not correctly placed. Put it back and check it activates both speeds when turning.
Hey do you think any hair or water can get through the main body of they epilator?
We tend to find some liquid and dirt when opening the body, especially near the main button. Hair is very very rare.
Thank you so much!
I am so glad it helped ! What needed to be repaired ?
@@cyclepil I needed to replace the rechargable batteries. Saved me a lot of money instead of buying a new one.

My silk epil 5 stopped working randomly. How can I make sure it’s the battery issue? What if the motor or chip something has issue. Much confused.
Is there a red light when you try to turn it on ?
Yes when i turn it on, it has red light despite being charged full. @@cyclepil
