Crossbow knight while not always the best option in is a great and under appreciated option if you plan to have a knight baby sit a choke points because if their job is to prevent enemies from passing through a space they kind of can't leave that space which means they waste a lot of actions just sitting unless they have a ranged option. Before I tried this I wasted a lot of turns on my knights with the enemy just out of reach but knowing I can't move further or they will be able to get at my squishy characters.
good idea i just find crossbow or bow on a tanky unit damage wise rather pointless since they are so weak in this game only hit hard on squishy units. Bow crossbow does little to no damage to front line units with high defense in my experience
I find that dragons and golems replace knights in chapter 3... they get their auto ability that works like phalanx and they have rampart aura. However, dragon's scale also reflect all damage, which is great but potentially bad in some battles for recruiting or passing conversations. Knights do get access to weapon finishers and heal spells which isn't the case of dragons. Hoplites are also AMAZING, they don't have phalanx but what they have is BETTER.
Clerics have a few other advantages besides sustained heals. Cudgel spell range allow Clerics to reach units the Knight may be unable to. Mother's Blessing improves burst healing. AOE Heals are also Cleric only. But... I'm tempted to replace one or both of my Cleric for some fights on my No Incap run. Occasionally they are snipped with a critical. Considering Rune Fencer as another replacement.
you make great points on the strong side of cleric for sure i just have 2 rune fencers 2 white knights and a few medic griffons and everyone carries healing items i just dont need cleric unless undead are around most of the time
I have not unlocked White Knights yet, but I'm halfway through chapter three and my Knight has only become more useful as the game goes on. Enemy Melee and Spellcasters are now starting to hit really hard and my Knight and maybe Denam are the only characters I can really trust to frontline now fulltime. The damage has crept up to the point that even my Berserkers have to play farther back If my Knight isn't there to slow down the enemy advance. Their damage output relative to the other melee classes is really their only major shortcoming. They need to use finishers in order to put out comparable numbers to the other classes.
yeah if u like knight shadow knight does similar things and can do more debuffs instead of heals. For sure tho knight isnt useless by any means no class is in this game which is nice compared to psp version where alot of them were
Knightsare pretty good for line holders. But they're also great for breaking through the line to hit squishing. They're too tanky to stop and the rampart ability stops enemies from body blocking and helping the back line.
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 Yeah, a great example it TK+archer. Archers got lowkey both nerfed and buffed, despite a lot of people thinking it was a straight nerf. their multipliers just went insane. so if you have a TK fearing and adding breach from like a zweihander+1, suddenly your archer can go from dealing 10 damage to 200
Knight are good but they have a lot of competition. For example Golem are better walls, dragons are more mobile can debuff ennemis and since monsters don't have equipment they are faster. You also have the non human counterparts.
yea lots of other units that can do similar stuff knights are great like chapter 1 and 2 kind of but after that when u get more units its hard to still want to use one
Knight Main tank, DK off tank. Everything else is optional. The knight will rarely stand out next to the others, nothing flashy there but they do their job better than any other unit.
Got a question If you got 2 Knights who proced Guardian Force and an ally is placed between both knights. An enemy attacks that ally. How would the damage be distributed?
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 If they arent then Ill breakdown and get the game, haha, some of the best classes where locked to specific characters and like one you couldnt really test to see which class was best for her and ended up only one was good but a second one wasnt bad and yeah..

@@faizedfoxgaming7426 If thats the case then I think the White Knight is still characters locked. Dang. Not to spoil anything but only Gildas, Mirdyn, Ozma and Ravness could be come one.

Let me know what you think about the knight is it really outclassed by white knight later in game or do u still use it late and end game as well?
i'd say it;s outclassed. also by terror knights. there's no reason really to use knights once you've built a tanky terror knight.

yeah dragons are so good with that huge hp pool

after you get through the individual class tips and tricks, I think very useful would be class combination tips and tricks

Knight from what i understand is the most tanky unit so makes sense

I never tried it but i would assume the ally takes 0 damage
