    Nice video. Just turned in my recalled 6 ton stands from a few years ago and picked up the 6 ton Daytona stands to replace them. FYI - The small tab with the U shaped cut out on the side near the safety pin is to bend in after you insert the center post. It will then keep it from being able to be pulled all the way out when transporting it, etc. without having to keep the safety pin in.

      I just picked up the 3 ton stands today. How do you go about bending the stop tab inward? I've put a cloth over it and then used a hammer and square punch to try to bend it inward but all I've done was to scar it. It has not bent at all? Is it necessary to even do this? I don't mind if the posts pull out when transporting

    Thank you this was exactly what I needed to see. Even showed them next to a toyota minivan. I used my 3 ton daytona stands to weld my wife's exhaust the other day and they were barely high enough. I am going today to grab a set of the 6 ton for next time. 25% off for memorial day! Thanks again.

      Hey Mike, I'm glad you found my video helpful! I admire you knowing how to weld! I need to learn how to do it some day. Guess where I just came back from?? Hint: the name begins with an H and ends with a T. XD

    Really excellent vid, thanks! You're the only one I've seen that even points out the lack of the cut-out in the side of the Daytona jack stands. That is something that really stood out to me when comparing to the big red and others - while you didn't give your opinion of that, I have to believe that makes them much stronger.

    Look at your daytona jacks - there's a tab on the side that you're supposed to peen in to prevent the center column from coming out. There's even a warning label under the tab that tells you to do this.

    The 6 ton look awesome!! I feel like I'd be more comfortable trusting my life to something that size and even if they were to cost $200, i value my life at at least twice that. 😆🤘

    Great video! I also have the 3 ton Daytona stands and love them. Way better than the Amazon Basic 2 ton I had before. They did just release a blue version of the 3 ton, still only black for the 6 ton, but maybe soon they have more.

      Hi Matt, I definitely favor the Daytona stands over the Big Red ones I got years ago. I think they're (HF) planning to match the paint color with all the other Daytona floor jacks and the US General boxes. The plan is most likely delayed by COVID.

    I like 6-ton better than 3-ton jack though I only have a CRV to maintain at home. I just put the saddle at the lowest position after I jack my car up. It is already at the lowest place not possible to crash.

    I just got the 3ton daytonas cause they were on sale for $27 this weekend. My dakota is low enough so the 3 tons should be tall enough for now but maybe later on ill grab some 6 tons aswell. Dont even have a nice floor jack yet but ill probably be grabbing the 3 ton low pro long reach or the super duty

    During a crush test the 3 ton held 11,500 pounds and barely was damaged. Just one stand held 11,500 lbs. that’s insane.

    Your goona be like me and buy another set because the 6 ton are more sturdy and use the 3 ton as more extra stabilization thx 4 ur video

      Hi John, I'm glad you enjoyed my video! I was actually thinking about the same thing when I was doing an oil change last weekend! Besides extra stability, the 6 ton will definitely give me more work room down there.

    good review, I'll subscribe. I have a question.
    Do you think the 6 ton big red back stands would be too big for a mini van? (Chrysler town and country)
    they are slightly more expensive than the 3ton big red stands

    • @Saint696Anger
      @Saint696Anger 2 года назад

      I wouldn't use the 6 ton jack stands fully extended on the mini van

    • @yihuandiy6355
      @yihuandiy6355  2 года назад +3

      Thanks for watching my video! If your mini van is similar to the toyota sienna in the video, I'd say the 3 ton jack stand is enough. It looks to me that the ground clearance of the Toyota does not seems to be much more than a regular sedan, definitely lower than and an SUV or a work van. To me, the 6 ton is more for lifted/off-roading vehicles and heavy trucks. Otherwise, the 3 ton should be fine. I hope this helps.

    • @Saint696Anger

      @@yihuandiy6355 would the 6 ton be to big if it's set on Lowest level? The reason I'm asking is because I need to get under mini van this week and will be buying a truck in the future

    • @yihuandiy6355
      @yihuandiy6355  2 года назад +4

      @@Saint696Anger I think the lowest level should give you a comfortable amount of room working under the mini van without feeling overly constraint (that happened to me last weekend when I was doing oil change on my mustang. I raised the car too low and it was not fun). I don't think it will be too high. The only thing I'd caution you is probably the placement of the stand. Because the base of the 6 ton is larger than the base of the 3 ton, it might want to position it carefully to give you enough room to put other stuff like oil pan, depending on the job you're working on. Otherwise, I don't think 6 ton is too high as long as you have a jack that can lift the van up to that height.

    It's not an UNBOXING, if we can't see them actually get unboxed fully. I needed to see how they're actually packed inside the box, not just see you pull them out waaaay zoomed out. Damn it. I have to repack mine for a move and can't tell how they go back in together. Particularly the two rolled up pieces of cardboard...where were they? What were they supporting?

      I personally prefer the quality of the Quinn set. I might be biased because of the price but I do feel the Quinn set looks and feels slightly better than the Pittsburgh set.
