Ah, this is a tricky set of questions, since there's so many games that I haven't seen before in my life, and I've only able to guess correctly like, 5 or something like that? Congrats @MarcoMeatball for being more intelligent than me when it comes to video game music :)
I love how all Marco needs is a slightly reverb-y drum pattern and he's groovin'. Doesn't matter what else is in the song. The chest pops just come out right away.
You should try out a few songs from Lies of P, I believe you'll love them. Some to start with are: wing of hypocrisy, apostles of evolution, arm of god and quite different but my favourite, divine service.
I'm biased, of course, but it felt like there was a large lack of Nintendo music in this quiz (at least in the first half, there have been 2 as I started typing this). I thought it was funny how I was able to guess Kingdom Hearts almost immediately because-- even though I'm not familiar with Kingdom Hearts' music --Yoko Shimomura's music is so recognizable.
Not knowing God Hand is completely understandable, I only knew it because I loved the fuck out of the game, and the boss fight it played in, the Mad Midget V!
That was hard but also funny to watch (and play too.) But after the HSR and Genshin songs, I have a question. Like the Wriothesley trailer has dubstep and there is nothing like it in the game itself. So, is it still video game music if it's just a promo music? xD
Charles Cornell just put out a video about the incredible musicality of the ducktales moon theme. You come at music from different perspectives, so I would love to watch a collab between you two.
Love how music in games can not only be good, but transport you back to that exact moment Also Marco! There's a game called Reverse:1999 which just dropped an opera themed chapter with a song called 'Salvation' which you might like in case you want to give it a shot :D
I thought that Tekken 4 song sounded like a racing theme as well. But... Namco Bandai also made Ridge Racer and I got RR vibes from it. Also that Xenoblade song is something you'll encounter very early in the game. Heck if you skip the cutscenes at the start you can get to that point in 5 minutes easily. Also kinda weird how if you know a lot of videogame music, you can actually guess which game something's from even if you've never played it or even heard the song (I also was right on a few I never heard before).
24:58 I KNEW THIS SONG DAMNIT! i like mumbled the next 20 seconds of it too! i remembered it because it was in the music festival event recently uuuugh 😤
Goooooooood, Fate/Stay night's original menu theme took me back to my youth real quick. It's such a strong tone setter for what you're about to go into compared to the adaptations that came after. Captures that mystery and atmosphere of urban fantasy perfectly.
Oh maaan, I guessed something over 10 right, didn't keep track that much. Always loved it when after so many unrecognizable tracks I hear one that I know and love even if I've never played the game itself, one of them being the Bioshock Infinite (73). Witcher 3 (60) track really made me think of the first half of Assassin's Creed IV track "In This World or the One Below".

5:55 I love that “What?!”
23:19 I agree! Bury the Light is great but Devil Trigger gets me HYPED!
I love doing this ones alongside you, I get to relive some old songs learn new music and also remember that I forgot a bunch of games at the same time.
I'm kinda surprised you didn't recognize the Duck Tales moon theme, it's such an iconic older game song
Having never played the game and don't recognize the music, yet you describe the tone and the setting almost perfectly each time? You have an ear for this sort of thing, really interesting what you come up with without any idea what the game is
OH MY GOD MIDNIGHT CLUB II MENTIONED AT 22:03! It's easily my favorite arcade racer by a mile and features a really nice trance OST!
Fun video! You gotta try the souls song quizzes online that only play like 1 second and you gotta guess which boss it is. Lol
Oh?!
@@MarcoMeatball you know what, I finally found the one I was thinking of but it's only one song per day. I thought there was an endless mode but guess not lol. It was called "fromsoft heardle".
@@gildias2556 Actually the heardle includes some of fromsofts' tracks from all of their games. For Marco, here's the link: soyeardle.glitch.me
For context, this was create by a streamer's mod to challenge the streamer with guessing the track.
I was WHITE KNUCKLE GRIPPING my chair when the Metroid Prime theme came up and you actually got it on a guess 😂😂😂
Ah, this is a tricky set of questions, since there's so many games that I haven't seen before in my life, and I've only able to guess correctly like, 5 or something like that? Congrats @MarcoMeatball for being more intelligent than me when it comes to video game music :)
same
Yo who recognised Riders of the Storm from NFS Underground 2. Love that game to death
23:20 as someone who is actually named Nero, I love you
32:00
I love Lies Of P
Especially all of their OST’s like King Of Puppets and Arm Of God
Fuck the king of puppets. Took me wayyyy too long
I love how all Marco needs is a slightly reverb-y drum pattern and he's groovin'. Doesn't matter what else is in the song. The chest pops just come out right away.
It would've been so funny if there was a Cruelty Squad track in there, especially Toxic Crisis
hearing gran turismo music made me bolt upright in my chair, I love GT soundtracks
You should try out a few songs from Lies of P, I believe you'll love them.
Some to start with are:
wing of hypocrisy, apostles of evolution, arm of god and quite different but my favourite, divine service.
So, is it still video game music if it's just a promo music? xD
Danganronpa ost when it says the name of the game in the clip used
The duck tales moon theme is one of the most iconic video game songs ever made
Had never heard it
Charles Cornell just put out a video about the incredible musicality of the ducktales moon theme. You come at music from different perspectives, so I would love to watch a collab between you two.
I’m trying to get a hold of him 😂🫶❤️
31:04
Man guesses song
Man makes happy noise
23:19 Editor is correct.
This list was rough! Although missing Guile's Theme! I can't forget it after the meme phase of Guile' Theme goes with everything.
Love how music in games can not only be good, but transport you back to that exact moment
Also Marco! There's a game called Reverse:1999 which just dropped an opera themed chapter with a song called 'Salvation' which you might like in case you want to give it a shot :D
They’ve sponsored a video it’s in the editing process ;)
I love how instantly Marco starts jamming to Let’s Dance Boys, Bayonetta is oops all bangers
4:57 I KNOW THAT ONE, JOHN SPLINTER CELL!!!!!
24:58 I KNEW THIS SONG DAMNIT! i like mumbled the next 20 seconds of it too! i remembered it because it was in the music festival event recently uuuugh 😤
I figured out the Shadow of Mordor song only because they literally sing the words written on the One Ring
Terraria is chuck full of sleeper hits.
Goooooooood, Fate/Stay night's original menu theme took me back to my youth real quick. It's such a strong tone setter for what you're about to go into compared to the adaptations that came after. Captures that mystery and atmosphere of urban fantasy perfectly.
Get this man on Zelda music😭
And terraria
Oh maaan, I guessed something over 10 right, didn't keep track that much. Always loved it when after so many unrecognizable tracks I hear one that I know and love even if I've never played the game itself, one of them being the Bioshock Infinite (73). Witcher 3 (60) track really made me think of the first half of Assassin's Creed IV track "In This World or the One Below".
Man my brain reacted instantly at 20:20 and knew exactly what song it was.
Marco you should stop sleeping of BlazBlue OST, these are fire.
28:58
THANK YOU Henry Stickmin for the Phoenix Wright scene in Escaping The Prison.
LEGENDARY game series, and the ONLY reason I knew this song.
