+Kerry Anderson I love it its way better than that shitty Hobart. It burns 7018 like butter. Mine stays in the back of my truck to. I bought a trailer to put it all on but its way easier to just have it in the truck. I need to upgrade the truck my half ton is setting on the helper springs but its level and rides real smooth with about 2000 lbs in the back
My Hobart Champion 10,000 locked up last Sunday. I was gonna use it to power a small flux core welder outside and never even got started before it locked up tighter than dicks hat band. Got it new in 03 had 2280 hrs on it. Sad day Sunday! Still bummed over that one man.. I' sure like the looks of this Trailblazer I'd keep a cover on that guy. That's hard to do though and covers don't last long. It would look new a lot longer though.😀
On that Hobart welder, did you by any chance look at the commutator and slip rings to see how dirty either was? Hobarts are noted for erratic or no power when the commutator gets dirty, or a black coloration, use a brush seating stone to clean by removing side access panel start the machine , then lightly place the stone against the commutator and moving the stone slowly the full length of the surface til it gets a bright copper color, then test to see if it makes power then. Also use a air hose to blow out any dust accumulation from the entire generator portion of cabinet. On any of those compact generators make sure you are very faithful at oil and filter changings and Always change filter at Every oil change, that's the key to longevity of those smaller engines, I prefer to use synthetic oil in mine as the viscosity does not change with heat.
I was going to get a Hobart locally but taxes increase price by 300 dollars. I found out a Ranger 225 would be 200 dollars more or a Bobcat 225. I am not sure what to do or get.
I got a bobcat off the welding store that was a rental machine that had 500 hours on it for $1,700.00 works great. we were renting it for over a year from them before i called and asked how much they'd let us keep it for. i like the little bob cat, but for my own personal machine, i think i wanna go with a trailblazer.
@@imbrandon16 The trailblazers are awesome. I have my Hobart still at under 100hrs. I am looking into getting a pipeline welder, maybe a Lincoln Sa200 gasoline machine. The Bobcat is probably close to my Hobart in power but the Miller has the AC welding mode I believe. Well should still be a good welder.
+Matt J you can put the exhaust any way you want to. and I'm not really for sure what the amperage is on the 220 ill have to find the book and look it up and get back with you
Thanks for getting back to me. I went ahead and ordered one myself, should be here friday. I got a pretty good deal buying it online, 4700$ with free shipping. Going to start a mobile welding service out of my truck.
That's a good price. I'm never real sure about buying online so I just went to a local welding supplies store and ordered mine. That's pretty much what I did with my truck the only things I don't have is bottles and a torch and am working on that now
I traded junk internals and electronics for a good proven reliable welder. My boss has a trailblazer 325 and a legend 305 both have over 3000 hours an all he's done is change the oil.
Hobart is not miller. They are both owned by the same parent company Illinois tool works. They have their own separate engineering departments and don't even make the same machines. the only thing similar is the case.
MadMetalManiac74 Hobart and Miller are the same machines, all new hobart generators have a manufactured by Miller electric sticker on them and hobart mig machines all have Miller guns and drive rolls
Bobby Williber no they're not. Hobart has a conoleltey different engineering divisionn apart from Miller's. Sure they take some things from miller but a Hobart is really the low end miller if you will. Not really the same machines.
That's why I as a welder prefer the older machines before they started putting motherboards in then cause you don't need to be an computer engineer to fix them lol. And anything with a motherboard won't last over 10 years cause the mother boards always go and they discontinue then after about 5 to 10 years
The machine is working good haven't had a issue with it yet. I now have 500 hours. I have a gas truck so gas is better for me. I do wish I would have gotten the excel power so the welder doesn't go wide open when your using grinders, chop saws, and screw guns
Cool, I'm about to start setting up my garage for metal work, got a deposit on a Bossweld 250 rig, so as soon as I get it, I'll be building a Gantry Crane, metal brake, workbenches and all the usual stuff. I'll be trying to keep all my work focussed around Aluminium and the idea is to set everything up to work at home if I want to or out in remote areas. A big thing I'll be focussed on will be working as quiet as I can.. Old Neighbours, say no more.
Yea I understand that aluminum welding is good money. I'm working towards saving up enough to build my own shop house so I can expand my welding skills and start up my own business. That's my favorite part of tig welding is that is so much quieter.
I just unboxed a diesel trail blazer it came with the negative battery cable clamp was clocked wrong i would have to twist the cable over a half a revolution to seat the clamp correctly onto the battery terminal leaving the cable in a serious bind instead of relaxed easy enough fix but it appears to be missing the tube that slips onto the antifreeze jug lid not very impressed after dropping over 15k for the machine
When you start the machine. Dont forget to pull the chock. Come on rookies.
This was a very entertaining and great video. I didn't even know these systems existed. Thanks for sharing.
The Trailblazer 325 is an awesome machine.... I picked one up a few months ago and it has been a game changer....
Sorry bout' your Hobart... Congratulations on your Trailblazer... you'll love it, I literally live with one on my truck.

Two questions on this model.
1: Can you put the exhaust on facing the other direction?
2: Whats the amperage on the 220 outlet?

Miller for a Miller... what a change!

That meant 100 hours till oil change i thought
How much i can by a us. One 15.000 wts
346 hrs is a new machine lol...I have a Miller 251D with 6000 hrs..
The Hobart is still brand new. You guys dont no whats up
Miller an Hobart are practically the same thing

How's machine doing now?
Do you wish you had gotten diesel?
updates :)

Badass. Great machines.
Maybe there's a way to trick it into staying at idle when you use power tools.
might fuck something up though I dunno.
thanks
You guys will probably mes up the new machine like the old one.
WHILKY LOVE
Lincoln 250 with 2250 hrs on it. It'll burn rods all day.
how much and where the hell can I find one of those
Len Johnson it seems like these guys payed 4500$ for it
fuck if I know where you can find it
online:)
@@relikvija many welding shops. The one that used to be on my service truck came from Norco in Oregon.
I waited a month for miller to build my diesel trailblazer just got it couple days ago
What kind of work do you do?
+SupaLexy (SupaNautica & MotoLexy) for my main job I build steel shops, shop houses, and barns but ill pretty much do anything that pays

I think the mig welding should be ok, but the grinding and saws are going to be a problem.
+SupaLexy (SupaNautica & MotoLexy) you'll just have to tell them old neighbors to take out their hearing aids your trying to make some money
Jesus that was some work to get a brand new machine started
Jordan Babcock cause they didn’t use the choke which they should of because it was cold.

But Hobart is miller now lol miller bought them out
cj glassey no that's actually false their sisters they're owned by the same parent company that I'll member what the f*** that company is
Hobart and miller are both owned by Illinois tool works. They are separate companies.
@@robertatwood2503 then why does a Hobart come with miller parts
They are both owned by Illinois tool.
big deal I've bought a44 g in1990 and bought a new 325 in 2915 I should have filmed it
You talking way too low in this video.
