      The good thing when u went there was not busy as during summer [ MAR to MAY ] no seaweeds along the shoreline ... yep that's what u could get with cheap hotels there ...I've learned my lesson well too I should have searched more on vlogs of hotels before I booked in just few weeks ago ... those doggos I think the same ones I've seen napping at the beach ... it's a good thing they're not being shoed away :) ... glad u didn't avail of their expensive hotel transfer from the airport ... I was so grateful /happy 🥰 when I travelled solo Pinoy folks were willing to share their trike ride so I would not have to pay much :)

    At the jetty port always buy the transfer package, it's worth it! You bypass all the lines, and gain direct access to all transfers, bus, boat, and transport on the island side. Usually your hotel/resort will offer this service. Every penny worth it!

    Love how authentic you were on your first impression om boracay. I am filipino and i am so annoyed how Boracay Terminal Port is being managed and conducted. There are too many counters, too many people working. it is terribly confusing.

    I visited Boracay in July 2023. I’m from Australia! Boracay has a nice beach and so do other countries. Boracay is ok but it’s also a lot of hype. Everything in Bohol and Boracay and Cebu is highly commercialised and environment fees and a host of other fees are just money making attempts but the islands are ok and a distraction from the monotony at home but at the end of the day, nothing like home !

    • @theodorevelentzas1065

      Agree what you said, they are extorting fees, yet they take away all the tourist facilities and fun like beach lounges and beach umbrellas, on beach dining, live music etc, the vibe has gone, I used to vist many times per year, until they introduced the new laws, since then I haven't visited and gone elsewhere, they have killed the tourist end of the market by not providing basic essentials like other countries

      I visit Coron Palawan. Sure, no beaches near the town, but there are boat tours that take you to many great beaches to explore. Just during the day. i plan to stay in Two seasons bayside hotel Panoramic suite later this year. Wedding anniversary. Costs about $1300 total with tax for 4 nights.
      Coron is for travelers that want less crowds and more boat tours.

    Lucky for me I saw a RUclips about the no-frills airport and the process, paperwork and fees of going to Boracay, and I decided to book a transportation package before I got there. The transport company took care of everything, fees, paperwork, from airport , jetty port, and to my hotel plus round trip back. Yes, it costs more, maybe 2 or 3 times what you pay if you did it all on your own after you got there and can bargain-priced it. it's convenience vs. budget the choice is yours.

    For context, the floods in boracay were far worse before the rehabilitation, so what you saw is actually a huge improvement, but nontheless, it's good that you guys are showing everything and keep things real. The whole repetitive process of multiple payments sure does need a rework as it is very time consuming and confusing. It was setup with the assumption that first time tourist would know where to go and how to pay. It's stupid as hell. People who paid the more expensive way of going to their hotel don't have to deal with all that though as their hotel arrange and do everything for them. You get picked up by their staff at the airport, escort you straight to your hotel with their own boat no waiting.

    • @AbbyandGaz
      @AbbyandGaz  Год назад +3

      Oh really? Yes the process could defiantly be streamlined. I guess people would just pay the extra if going on holiday, when traveling we need to try and save money where we can as we are doing this long term ☺️

    I love love this video. It's raw and it tackled both the negative and positive side of visiting Boracay. I would hate for people to visit my country full of positive expectations unprepared about the inconveniences which can really ruin their vacation. Also, It's such a good thing that you remind people that you cannot enjoy anything good when you are sleep deprived.. patience is low, your body is lack of energy, you cannot bring yourself to be in a good mood no matter what. so prioritize QUALITY sleep as soon as you arrived if there's nothing more important to do and then explore with good mood and savor the experience of nature and the local culture. HAVE A GOOD TIME❤

  • @CAM846

    The problem with their experience is they are trying to be cost affected in a cheap country. The place is already dirt cheap so you really get what you pay for. Funny how abby disappointed about the floods going to their hotel. Its a normal things here in the Philippines to have a flooded road. Sometimes it appear depends on the situation on that area.🙂

    • @AbbyandGaz
      @AbbyandGaz  Год назад +3

      Wouldn’t usually be disappointed but think a mixture of lack of sleep and the fact that Boracay has had a lot of money pumped into it for it to be ready for tourist you would think the drain systems would be sorted. Any other area of the Philippines and I wouldn’t have cared in the slightest ☺️

      That's why i like visiting Coron Palawan instead. Direct flight to the island. 40 minute drive by van to the hotel from airport. Hassle free.
      250 per PAX peso environment fee
      350 per PAX van fee unless hotel covers it.
      For cheap stay but nice room. stay at Vienna Hotel. Their Deluxe room is about $60 per night. however it is up a hill so if you have mobility issues, i would look for another hotel.

    I remember when Duterte said it was a cesspool! Over loaded with tourists and badly managed.
    Financial gouging.
    Still its easy to see what it once was. The sunsets are still pretty despite it being a tourist mecca.

  • @dlpro619
    @dlpro619 Год назад

    First of all they ask you about your personal info and the hotel you’re staying at because they dont want people just coming to Boracay and just loitering around the island. Which was a big problem during the times when Boracay was a party island and more polluted. Second if you would have paid the extra cost you could have breezed through the port with an assistant helping you thru the various gates, onto the boat and then have a shuttle to your hotel. I paid the fee and was thru the port and on a boat in two mins. Then had a shuttle waiting for me to take me to my hotel. People arent always trying to scam you in the Philippines.
