Susan Graham's just got the right cheekiness and boyishness and her performance is simply stunning. and she was actually humming "fin ch'han dal vino" before the "pian pianin" finale. Brilliant! :)
@@st14 I love Hvorostovsky, but personally I prefer Thomas Allen and DFD. Although it must be said that in terms of the raw voice, Hvorostovsky has it by a mile.
XxSaruman82xX Hard to tell from this recording what he really sounded like in the theatre. The sound is picked up by directional microphones and strongly amplified. You can hear every step they take in the stage floor. Dima was a great singer of the covered-crooning type.
