After working in a music store in the 80's , I first wanted to thank you both for taking me back to the some of the best days of my life. Working in the store during the day, playing out with the band at night, good times.
Beyond that, you both are awesome and incredibly talented. You are knowledgeable about both the music and the gear you sell way beyond the point of most people who have been working in some of the stores or more importantly think that they could. The way that you can pair up the instrument and amplifier with the accessories to achieve the best sound is evidence of deep industry experience.

Also the amps that Billie uses are 2 Marshall super lead plexis called Pete and mete. Pete has the dookie mod on it, which gives it another gain stage, and a volume control with some other enhancements , while mete has a more general mod called the gain mod, that also adds a gain stage and volume knob.
His blue strat is a Fernandez copy from the late 70s that originally had a bill lawrence 500XL pickup in it. He recorded all albums up to Dookie with that pickup, and not soon after that he switched to the Seymour Duncan JB. When nimrod came around, he began to use old juniors with p90s and humbuckers, and he did so until about the American idiot era. After that he’s used rickenbackers, les Paul’s (standards and customs) , and gretsch guitars for live use, and on ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre!.

I can understand why you guys like the Duesenberg (in terms of polish and playability), but in my ears, that Gibson P-90 just killed it. The humbuckers were just too fuzzy, and that P-90 cuts through so beautifully.

I agree, too much gain, Billie used a Tube Screamer for the P90 / Humbucker mix of AI, but this time they got closer tbh. Wish they at least could have used a guitar with a Duncan JB. Or use the new Marshall Studio vintage. But this time it was really great

I really like when the body color matches either the fretboard or headstock, and the bigger and black pickguard for this Gibson. My suggestion- do Dr. Feelgood with Wilco Johnson on a budget- they have some great live videos from the 70s on RUclips. They are lesser known because their studio albums were not very good, although Wilco is still doing live shows and was a guest for Game of Thrones as an executioner. Another suggestion for your Sound Like series is Chris Rea- my favorite underrated guitar player and singer.
