If Slash can have tons of Gibson guitars even when the legendary AFD Les Paul isn't an original Gibson, then obviously Billie Joe can have a "Blue" strat by Fender. The only problem here... He's married with Gibson, but hey! Clapton has worked with both Fender & Gibson, the same goes for Gilmour, Hendrix and many other players.

I started playing the guitar about two years ago and when I was looking to buy my first electric, this vid is what convinced me buy the Bonneville. And I‘m so glad I did.
After working in a music store in the 80's , I first wanted to thank you both for taking me back to the some of the best days of my life. Working in the store during the day, playing out with the band at night, good times. Beyond that, you both are awesome and incredibly talented. You are knowledgeable about both the music and the gear you sell way beyond the point of most people who have been working in some of the stores or more importantly think that they could. The way that you can pair up the instrument and amplifier with the accessories to achieve the best sound is evidence of deep industry experience. I have been waiting for this day Also the amps that Billie uses are 2 Marshall super lead plexis called Pete and mete. Pete has the dookie mod on it, which gives it another gain stage, and a volume control with some other enhancements , while mete has a more general mod called the gain mod, that also adds a gain stage and volume knob. His blue strat is a Fernandez copy from the late 70s that originally had a bill lawrence 500XL pickup in it. He recorded all albums up to Dookie with that pickup, and not soon after that he switched to the Seymour Duncan JB. When nimrod came around, he began to use old juniors with p90s and humbuckers, and he did so until about the American idiot era. After that he’s used rickenbackers, les Paul’s (standards and customs) , and gretsch guitars for live use, and on ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre!.

This is MUCH more accurate than the without busting the bank. I feel like the biggest problem last time was not using a Marshall DSL40. If you want the BJA tone, you gotta use a Marshall, not a Blackstar

man, this takes me back to my first band... covering Green Day ONLY (this was just after Dookie), me on vocals, two classmates on bass and guitar, NO DRUMS.
for guitars he had Fender, Musicman, Kramer and now his own EVH so either an budget musicman Axis or a wolfgang his amps were marshalls run through a variac power supply and he now has EVH, but since you said Marshall get the Boss Katana 50 or 100 cos it has a brown setting to get his "Brown" sound for pedals he's known for the Phase 90, flanger in Unchained and even chorus in his version of Oh Pretty Woman so i reckon get the Phase 90, a tape delay, use the built in flange and chorus on the Katana and maybe get a wah cos he did use one on poundcake

I think this channel gets away with it because they might either mess up on the song or only play 30 seconds of it. 30 seconds of it would be protected under free use.

I can understand why you guys like the Duesenberg (in terms of polish and playability), but in my ears, that Gibson P-90 just killed it. The humbuckers were just too fuzzy, and that P-90 cuts through so beautifully.

I saw an RD Bass in the background (6:18) and immediately thought of Krist for Busting the Bank but James Valentine would be great as well, he’s such an underrated guitarist
I really like when the body color matches either the fretboard or headstock, and the bigger and black pickguard for this Gibson. My suggestion- do Dr. Feelgood with Wilco Johnson on a budget- they have some great live videos from the 70s on RUclips. They are lesser known because their studio albums were not very good, although Wilco is still doing live shows and was a guest for Game of Thrones as an executioner. Another suggestion for your Sound Like series is Chris Rea- my favorite underrated guitar player and singer.
Not bad, sounds pretty close. But BJA used a Les Paul Standard on the American Idiot record for lead stuff. He uses a LPJ live, but the gain isn't as heavy.

all you really need is fender with a humbucker for early material. gibson with a p90 for newer material. into a marshall.

They are lesser known because their studio albums were not very good, although Wilco is still doing live shows and was a guest for Game of Thrones as an executioner. Another suggestion for your Sound Like series is Chris Rea- my favorite underrated guitar player and singer.
Not bad, sounds pretty close. But BJA used a Les Paul Standard on the American Idiot record for lead stuff. He uses a LPJ live, but the gain isn't as heavy.

actually ur right about the amps just not the time periods. he used the plexis in the 90’s and the jcm900 now with the blues driver.
