- In May 1940, Winston Churchill became Prime Minister of the coalition government and promised his people "blood, toil, tears and sweat". He was unfortunately right. As the Netherlands and France fell to Hitler, rescuing thousands of Allied soldiers from the Dunkirk squares became Churchill's priority.

Why can’t I turn the subtitles off? I turn them off, but after an ad they come back on. Very annoying. Especially as they are very different to what is actually being said so it’s quite distracting. This has happened with other videos of yours, but nobody else’s.

My uncle took a rowboat from London, rowed to Dunkirk, saved 15 men and rowed back. Under heavy, fire, they chased his row boat all the way to London. He received the Victoria Cross for his remarkable participation of Operation Dynamo.
From what I understand, American public opinion to enter the war was significantly in favor after Germany invaded France. It wasn’t Pearl Harbor that totally changed the for or against balance, but of course it made it overwhelmingly for.

The USSR would have collapsed without the Lend-Lease Act and help from Britain (intelligence).
Loss of food would have sealed the fate of the soviets (unless helped by foreign powers fighting for communism)
The soviets got enough food from the USA to feed its soldiers for the rest of the war,
12 million boots , 60 percent aluminum and steel, a lot of tin , 90 percent of railway equipment ( the soviets would never have been able to conduct offensives so fast and transfer their main armies to critical points , 300000 trucks were given , 65 percent of aviation fuel and much more apart from 15 percent tanks ,aircrafts
Soviet sympathizers say "only 15 per cent was given to USSR"

The main Lend-Lease began only in May 1942, when the United States realized that the USSR had defended Moscow and began to liberate its territories. The Soviet Union won this war, not the cowardly Americans.
